Thanks Elizabeth for these great picks. I have added three of your new book suggestions to my TBR so thank you for that.

I think I'll start with Galileo's Dream and then see how I'm going for time before deciding to read another book.

Thanks for the great picks! I'll definitely be reading Defiant, and several others look good so I'm sure I'll read more than that, just haven't really had a chance to do any planning yet. I'm actually reading Lumberjack in Love right now...my fault, I spent most of yesterday hanging out in the ER with my mom who strained some back muscles and wasn't able to get my shelves updated, so it was where it didn't belong. Sorry! Don't worry about replacing it with another pick, I have plenty to choose from (and it WAS my fault, after all!)

@Skandia: I'll get your picks up sometime today, but I'm not sure exactly when...still trying to recover from the fun we had yesterday, and our first snowfall of the winter is complicating things!

message 111: by Penney (last edited Feb 23, 2014 10:14AM) (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Hi Carla! I'm sorry, that took much longer than I anticipated. Everything I wanted to pick for you was already on your rather large TBR, so I had to be a bit creative. You get two from your TBR and one new to you. I also wanted to choose books that were a bit outside the box. I've made choices that either don't follow the typical formula for their genre or are hard to pigeon hole in just one genre. So here we go...

1. Costumes
TBR:
The Edge of Never, Nicely written with great MCs. The Prince of Midnight, Not at all your typical HR. Both MCs are very flawed individuals and I loved them.
NEW: She's Gone Country, I don't know how I'd classify this book, but as a woman and a mom, it really touched me.
The Edge of Never (The Edge of Never, #1) by J.A. Redmerski The Prince of Midnight by Laura Kinsale She's Gone Country by Jane Porter

2. Overindulgence
TBR:
Amazon Lily, This is the only Theresa Weir book I've read, but it's stuck with me. A great read. Beguiling the Beauty, yes this in on your TBR, but the author, Sherry Thomas, is definitely new to you. She doesn't write the typical HR, her heroines are always strong and independent. I think you'd appreciate her.
NEW: Nalini Singh is one of my favorite authors, I think she writes very intelligent stories. I love her 'hero' in this series because as an ancient he's totally out of touch with his humanity and has to find it again. I LOVE this entire series.
Amazon Lily by Theresa Weir Beguiling the Beauty (Fitzhugh Trilogy, #1) by Sherry Thomas Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh

3. Parties & Parades
TBR:
Neanderthal Seeks Human: A Smart Romance, This really is a smart romance and I adored the heroine. First Grave on the Right, On your TBR but once again, new to you. I would probably classify this as UF, but it's a great start to a great series.
NEW: Naked in Death, This is one of my all time favorite series and even after almost 40 installments I'm still loving it. This first is more crime novel than romance, but the romance is there and it continues to grow with each book.
Neanderthal Seeks Human A Smart Romance (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny ReidFirst Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb

4. Rowdy-Out of Control-Pushing Boundaries Behavior
TBR:
Maybe This Time, I'm reading this right now and loving it. It's funny, creepy, touching, with a bit of romance thrown in for good measure. The Rosie Project, Another book that touches on many different genres. I read this recently and fell in love with the MC. He's a scientist with Aspergers Syndrome but doesn't realize he has it. I laughed out loud and shed a few tears with this one.
NEW: Cry No More, Romantic Suspense isn't really a new genre for you, but I realized the ones you have read are all by the same author. I thought I'd introduce something a bit new. Just have the tissues ready, this one's a tearjerker for sure.

Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion Cry No More by Linda Howard

I hope you find something here you like. HAPPY READING!!!

message 112: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments Hi Kaileigh Here are your picks! I had fun going through your shelves. Hope you find something good to read.

1. Costumes: I loved the cover on the first book and the second book is a book I enjoyed set in New Orleans. Since I'm from there, I'm a little picky, but this one got it mostly right.
The Unmasking of Cinderella and Midnight on Julia Street
The Unmasking of Cinderella (Enchanted Fairytales, #4) by Cindy C. Bennett Midnight on Julia Street (Time Travel, #1) by Ciji Ware

2. Overindulgence: Stephanie Laurens seems to be a favorite author of yours (and mine). This is a new series for you to start that's pretty good. And the second book is by one of my favorite authors. I liked this series alot!
A Gentleman's Honor and Animal Attraction
A Gentleman's Honor (Bastion Club, #2) by Stephanie Laurens Animal Attraction (Animal Magnetism, #2) by Jill Shalvis

3. Parties & Parades: The first one I chose is from a series you are obviously loving, so it's time to read the next one. And the other book is the first in the Weather Wardens series by Rachel Caine (who you seem to like). You had her spinoff series listed, but it's really better to start with this series, or it won't make sense.
No Good Duke Goes Unpunished and Ill Wind
No Good Duke Goes Unpunished (The Rules of Scoundrels, #3) by Sarah MacLean Ill Wind (Weather Warden, #1) by Rachel Caine

4. Rowdy, Out of Control, Pushing Boundaries Behavior: I'm not sure if it's a new genre for you, but it's a new author - Katie MacAlister writes fun, sexy dragon books. I love them!! And the second book has been on your TBR for awhile (and mine as well). So time for both of us to read it!
Playing With Fire and Shiver
Playing With Fire (Silver Dragons, #1) by Katie MacAlister Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater

Hi Irina Thanks for the picks! I'm definitely going to be reading The Marriage Bargain (Marriage to a Billionaire, #1) by Jennifer Probst and Captive Star (Stars of Mithra, #2) by Nora Roberts in March. I will have to see what else I can get to, but they are all going on my TBR!

message 116: by Nancy H (last edited Feb 23, 2014 11:20AM) (new)

Nancy H | 1097 comments Hi Sandy,
You have so many great reads awaiting you on your TBR that I got excited for you just looking through them! We have a lot of reading tastes in common, so it was doubly exciting to pick for you. That said, if you don't see anything here you want to read, please let me know and I will come up with more (it was hard to stop with just these!).

1. Costumes: One with a mask on the cover: Masquerade (Blue Bloods, #2) by Melissa de la Cruz One with gold on it: Crispin The Cross of Lead (Crispin #1) by Avi - You like historical fiction and this one is really good. Ireland: Semi-Sweet A Novel of Love and Cupcakes by Roisin Meaney - This one is also on my TBR pile so if you want to do a Buddy Read with it, please let me know. St. Patrick's Day celebration - Savannah (Savannah Quartet, #1) by Eugenia Price - This is historical fiction, and I don't know if it specifically includes anything about St. Patrick's Day, but my son lives in Savannah and says they have a huge St. Patrick's day celebration! From your TBR it seems like you would like this one.

2. Overindulgence From one of your favorite authors - Somewhere I'll Find You (Capital Theatre, #1) by Lisa Kleypas (also has purple on the cover) From one of my favorite authors, two to choose from: If You Could See What I See by Cathy Lamb and/or Julia's Chocolates by Cathy Lamb - Both of these are excellent and lots of fun. Plus an extra suggestion, just because chocolate is always a good overindulgence (at least in my opinion!): Chocolat (Chocolat, #1) by Joanne Harris - I just read this whole series and it is excellent.

3. Parties & Parades You have several series in your TBR that are really good, so I would suggest a couple. I see you have listed several of the Sue Grafton alphabet series, so pick the earliest one that you haven't read.
Also, you have the latest Alan Bradley 'Flavia de Luce' series on your list, but I would go back and read the first one if you haven't - all are excellent, though: The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Flavia de Luce, #1) by Alan Bradley
You also have the latest Louise Penny 'Inspector Gamache' one on your list. I just started this series and would recommend going back to the first one, Still Life (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #1) by Louise Penny . The small town of Three Pines definitely has a good group of friends (okay except for a murderer here and there - lol)

A new-to-you series with some magic and romance,by Nora Roberts, starting with Dance Upon the Air (Three Sisters Island, #1) by Nora Roberts .

4. Rowdy,Out of Control, Pushing Boundaries Two from your early TBR section that I think look really good, in fact both are also on my TBR: Bad Girls of the Bible And What We Can Learn from Them by Liz Curtis Higgs and Good Time Girls of the Alaska-Yukon Gold Rush A Secret History of the Far North by Lael Morgan
I also have two more recommendations for you that would fit several of these categories and both are by the same author, Sandra Dallas, both excellent novels: New Mercies by Sandra Dallas (This one reminded me in a way of The Help which I saw you enjoyed, although this is a different story) and Fallen Women by Sandra Dallas which fits this last category in several ways and is fabulous!

I hope you can find something you like. Happy Reading!

Grace | 1647 comments Okay Nichole, here goes. I hope you find something you'll enjoy!

1. Costumes:
a. Never Seduce a Scot by Maya Banks (TBR): I haven't read this one yet, but I really liked her other Scottish series.
b:Mercury's War by Lora Leigh (NEW): This is one from the Breed Series I really enjoyed.

2. Overindulgence:
a. Up From the Grave by Jeaniene Frost (TBR): You really seemed to like this series and it's the last book in it.

3.Parties & Parades:
a. Defying the Odds by Kele Moon (TBR): I really liked this book and am currently reading the second book in the series and am loving it.
b. Slade by Laurann Dohner (Newish): I was going to recommend the first book in the series because I saw that you really enjoyed Lora Leigh's Breeds, but you beat me to it. So I'm going to recommend the second book in the series. I love the New Species Series and the books keep getting better and better.

4. Rowdy, Out of Control, Pushing Boundaries Behavior:
a. Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase (TBR): This one has been on your shelves for awhile. My friend read it and she loved it.
b. This one was a little tricky for me. Every time I thought of something I saw that it was either already on your TBR list or you had read it, but I finally found something. One of my favorite authors is Meg Cabot, so I'm going to recommend one from her adult series and one from her YA series.
Size 12 Is Not Fat: This is a mix between chick lit, romance, and a murder mystery book. I really enjoyed this series.
When Lightning Strikes: This is one of her YA series I really enjoyed. They are a quick easy read.

Never Seduce a Scot (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs, #1) by Maya Banks Mercury's War (Breeds, #16) by Lora Leigh Up From the Grave (Night Huntress, #7) by Jeaniene Frost Texas Glory (Texas Trilogy, #2) by Lorraine Heath Defying the Odds (Battered Hearts, #1) by Kele Moon Slade (New Species, #2) by Laurann Dohner Lord of Scoundrels (Scoundrels, #3) by Loretta Chase Size 12 Is Not Fat (Heather Wells, #1) by Meg Cabot When Lightning Strikes (1-800-Where-R-You, #1) by Meg Cabot
