~KarenH~ | 10965 comments Hi Skandia! Sorry for the delay in getting these posted, it's been an interesting weekend...

1. Costumes: From your TBR: When Beauty Tamed the Beast (TBR) You only gave the first book 3 stars, but in my opinion this one is soooo much better! Or Whisper Falls (TBR) I loved the first two books in this series! If you decide on this one and want to do a buddy read, I think I can work it into my challenges for next month.
Out of Time (New) Fun time-travel romance with a few paranormal creatures thrown in for good measure.

2. Overindulgence: Two from your TBR: It looks like you've been enjoying Stephanie Plum, but stopped after book 11. How about continuing the series with Twelve Sharp? Or, the 2nd book in one of my all-time favorite Nora Roberts series Rising Tides.
Two that are new to you: Both short but very emotional Do Over or Shaken

3. Parties & Parades: From your TBR Castle Hill, a nice, short peek in at Braden and Joss before, during, and after their wedding, or Exclusively Yours you'll never think of a family camping trip the same way again!
New to you: Bunny and the Bear the first book in a light, funny shifter series, or Dark Protector the first book in a paranormal series with a bit of an unusual premise.

4. Rowdy, Out of Control, Pushing Boundaries Behavior: From your TBR: Lover Revealed you rated the first three books very highly, but this one has been sitting on your TBR for a year. Maybe it's time to revisit the series? Or The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie I love this series, and especially Ian, but you've had it on your shelves for over a year...
New to you: About Last Night quick read with a couple of interesting characters who really find themselves when they find each other, by a new to you author, Ruthie Knox.

I hope you find something you like here, but my brain is a bit fried tonight so if I messed it up and you need me to do any repicks, just let me know. Enjoy!

Great Picks Victoria! I've been wanted to read the Bigtime series but I'll probalbly read The Nerd Who Loved Me and a Charmed Death because they fit into other challenges if I still have time I'd like to read Q-in-law that looks like a hoot. I have to see if my library has it.

Thank you KarenH, love my picks!
I've added Bunny and the Bear and About Last Night to my TBR. I'll read at least one of them in March.

I'm in for BR of Whisper Falls because I love Toni Blake's writing and I've been meaning to pick up this series again. BR in the first half of March would be great.

NEW - Secrets of a Summer Night - heart this series
TBR - The Sweetest Thing - you fave'd the first of the series
TBR - Truce: The Historic Neighbor from Hell - I forgot about this. can BR!

3. Parties & Parades: fave series
NEW - Finnikin of the Rock - okay, so I see Saving Francesca (which I really need to read) on your fave list. You should definitely check out this series by the same author. It's fantasy, but soooo good. I re-listen to some parts of the audio of the 3rd book cuz the narrator is fantastic. Though I believe they switched narrators from the 1st book.
TBR - Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet - why have you not read this yettttttttt
TBR (not PIFM) - Angels' Blood - why have you not read this yet eitherrrrrrr

NEW - Something Like Summer - new to you! and completely tissue worthy. grab a couple boxes.
TBR - Night Owl - a recent read for me. talk about pushing boundaries...
NEW - Unholy Ghosts - pushing YOUR boundaries. How can anyone love this? There's a drug addict main character and a gang enforcer named Terrible. But you do. You love it. and your heart will break for Chess, constantly. and your breath catches for Terrible every single moment he's on scene.

Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 2244 comments Hi Nancy H!
Here are your picks, I hope you can find something that suits your fancy!

1. Costumes: Pick books with green, purple, gold, a hat, a mask or neckwear on the cover, or you may also select books set in Louisiana (or the South), Ireland (or Europe) or any location that has large celebrations for Mardi Gras or St. Patrick's Day.

- Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen - Green Cover
- Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris - Set in Louisana
- Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning - Set in Ireland
- Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men by Molly Harper - Set in the South

2. Overindulgence: Recommend a book by one of their favorite authors and a new to them book by one of your favorite authors, because sometimes you just need to indulge in something you love.

- The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling - You liked Harry Potter, so I thought you should try her mystery novels
- The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd - You liked The Secret Life of Bees so I thought you should try this one
- Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon - We both loved Outlander, we should keep reading the series!
- Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison - My favorite series of all time!

3. Parties & Parades: Who doesn't love getting together with friends, suggest books with a large gathering or celebration or the next book in one of your pickee's favorite series or you may also pick a new to them series that you think they would like.

- Rock Chick Redemption by Kristen Ashley - There seems to be a lot of characters in her books
- The Dead in Their Vaulted Arches by Alan Bradley - Next book in the series came out last month!
- Hooked on Murder by Betty Hechtman - New series you may like
- Mystery Man by Kristen Ashley - New series they may like

4. Rowdy, Out of Control, Pushing Boundaries Behavior: Sometimes you just need a push to read something new (or old)! So recommend a new genre or author for your pickee that you believe they will enjoy. Also, pick an oldie off their TBR that shouldn't be gathering dust anymore!

- Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything by Steven D. Levitt - New Genre, this one was really good!
- Moon Called by Patricia Briggs - New series
- Skinny Dip by Carl Hiaasen - Sitting on your TBR too long, I liked this one a lot

Victoria (flame_2712) | 126 comments Hey Lacy!

Sorry it took me quite a while to get these picks up, been really busy over the weekend:( But yes, hope you like it, if not I could always repick for you!

1. Costumes: Pick books with green, purple, gold, a hat, a mask or neckwear on the cover, or you may also select books set in Louisiana (or the South), Ireland (or Europe) or any location that has large celebrations for Mardi Gras or St. Patrick's Day.
(NEW/TBR)

New: The Hostage (Great Chicago Fire Trilogy #1) by Susan Wiggs This takes place in Chicago, which I believe has a fairly large celebration for St. Patrick's Day? At least according to the Internet haha. I read this a few years back, and I really did like it! The writing isn't the most catchy, but I loved the romance and the kind of love in the book!

TBR: Seize the Night (Dark-Hunter, #6) by Sherrilyn Kenyon I loved this book. Completely. Its certainly one of my favorites in the Dark Hunter series, and I think, if there is any book that is a must read, its this. And its set in New Orleans, which has a rather huge Mardi Gras celebration right? At least it happened in the book! Forgive me, I'm not from the US, so I'm really not sure about stuff like this!

2. Overindulgence: Recommend a book by one of their favorite authors and a new to them book by one of your favorite authors, because sometimes you just need to indulge in something you love.
(NEW/TBR)

New: Whitney, My Love (Westmoreland Saga, #2) by Judith McNaught Judith Mcnaught is by far my favorite romance author, but especially for her historical romances. Whitney, My Love is the first historical romance I read by her, and till this date, it remains one of my favorite books.

TBR: Digital Fortress by Dan Brown Dan Brown is mentioned as one of your favorite authors, and Digital Fortress is one of my personal favorites! Maybe because I really love computers and stuff like this just really interests me!

3. Parties & Parades: Who doesn't love getting together with friends, suggest books with a large gathering or celebration or the next book in one of your pickee's favorite series or you may also pick a new to them series that you think they would like.
(NEW/TBR)

New: Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu I loved this book! Its a YA dystopian, and I saw you liked Divergent, which I personally loved too. Personally, I loved this entire series and I found it one of the better dystopian trilogies I read actually.

TBR: Allegiant (Divergent, #3) by Veronica Roth So I saw you read the first 2, and you gave them rather high ratings. Personally, I didn't like Allegiant, but I would read that ending over and over again. I hope you haven't been spoiled about Allegiant yet though, because the only reason I would read it again, would be for what happens at the end. Still, why not finish a series right?

(NEW/TBR)

New: Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma or Branded (Sinners, #1) by Abi Ketner . Both are in a sense, forbidden romances. I really want to read Forbidden, and reviews on it look really good, so Idk, perhaps you would like forbidden romance kinda thing! Or Branded, which I felt had a very interesting setup!

From your TBR: Genesis by Bernard Beckett I really loved this one when I first read it, and its been on your TBR for quite a while so I'm thinking you should like it?

So yes, I hope you like the picks! :)

message 182: by Pam (last edited Feb 24, 2014 07:00PM) (new)

Pam | 1048 comments Grace--I am really tired so if any of these don't work, let me know and I will look for others. I seem to have focused on books in series but it wasn't on purpose.

1. Costumes__Your TBR A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, #2) by Kresley Cole apparently takes place in New Orleans NEW: No Good Duke Goes Unpunished (The Rules of Scoundrels, #3) by Sarah MacLean While this is the third in the series, I don't think you need to read them in order. This one has a green cover and masks are involved multiple times. I like this series.

2. Overindulgence__These mix and match--they are both on your TBR and I like both authors Rumor Has It (Animal Magnetism, #4) by Jill Shalvis from your TBR and The Heir (Duke's Obsession, #1) (Windham, #1) by Grace Burrowes which has become one of my favorite series. (Told you I was obsessed with series books today)

3. Parties and Parades__Your TBR: Seduction of a Highland Lass (McCabe Trilogy, #2) by Maya Banks or Never Seduce a Scot (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs, #1) by Maya Banks NEW: Dark Witch (The Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts which is a new series and could fit in Costumes too OR The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa

4. New Genre-how do you feel about zombies? I actually liked Flesh (Flesh, #1) by Kylie Scott but Married With Zombies (Living with the Dead, #1) by Jesse Petersen looks cute too. Old book from your TBR: How about Lover Revealed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #4) by J.R. Ward ?

thanks, dee, for the choices. i would love to read all of them, but i'm not sure that's going to be possible...besides, i have a horrible track record when it comes to these challenges. i'm definitely going to read Sacrificial Magic and Faro's Daughter. i really want to read Nothing Personal, Running the Red Light and Southern Fried Blues, but i'll see.

message 185: by Joyce (new)

Joyce (eternity21) | 738 comments Hi Suzanne, here are your picks. I'm sorry it too so long but you have a long list to go through. I had a hard time finding books not on your TBR so I tried to go with series or authors you haven't started yet for NEW books. I hope you can find something you want to read here.

1. Costumes:
TBR-Deadlocked the next in this series for you set in Louisiana and has a green cover to boot. LOL
NEWish-The Mummy, Or, Ramses The Damned the cover is gold and has a mask. This is an often overlooked book of Ann Rice's and one I've enjoyed very much. It is closer to a romance than her other books. It is a stand along book that I highly recommend.

2. Overindulgence:
TBR-Dark Witch I see you really like Nora Roberts. This is a book I want to read soon.
NEWish-The Face Of Deception This a favorite author of mine that I see you have tried one of her older books and did not like it. This book is very different from that one. I am not crazy about the book you did try but I loved this one and this series but the first book is the best.

3. Parties & Parades:
TBR-Lover at Last I see you started this series liking it but giving the later books a higher rating so its time to do another one in this series.
NEW-Night Pleasures This is actually the second in this series. I see you read the first and were so-so about it. But the second is really where the story comes together and really starts the series. So I'm kind of listing this a new series for you.

4. Rowdy, Out of Control, Pushing Boundaries Behavior:
TBR-Jane Eyre This has been on your to read list for a long time. It is one of my all time favorite books. I don't reread too many books but this is one of them that every now and then gets reread.
NEWish -The Eyre Affair This book definitely pushes the boundaries of being different. I love this book as well. Great humor in it. If you are into audio books this one is really done well.

Night Pleasures (Dark-Hunter, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark Witch (The Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts Lover at Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) by J.R. Nemo, you need to pick 2 books for each category - one new and one from their shelf. So it would be a total of 8 books, not 3.

Runell Woot, woot! Thanks for the picks, Breann. I'm going to try to get to as many as I can, but the definite one is, of course, Ball & Chain.

message 199: by Breann (new)

Breann | 398 comments I figured as much :D That'll be a definite for me, too.

message 200: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 4921 comments Here you go MountainKat... I hope you enjoy one or two from here :) If not, I blame the sickness. But I'd be happy to repick anyway!

1. Costumes:
NEW: The Phantom of the Bathtub by Eugenia Riley
Savannah has one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the country. This is set in Savannah but it's not about St. Paddy's Day

TBR: Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night - Kresley Cole
This is on both of your TBRs and it’s got purple on the cover. Can’t go wrong there!

2. Overindulgence:
NEW: Gotcha! - Christie Craig
You have a couple of hers on your TBR but not this one (so if you’d prefer one of those, I won’t tell) but she is one of my favorite authors quite funny!

TBR: Summer Heat - Jaci Burton
This is on your TBR and a favorite author of yours. I have this too. Let me know how you like it.

3. Parties & Parades:
NEW: Love's Wild Desire - Jennifer Blake
This starts out with a Mardi Gras celebration...

TBR: From This Moment On - Bella Andre
It’s not only a large family, but there are definitely large gatherings when the h performs. One of my favorite series.

4. Rowdy, Out of Control, Pushing Boundaries Behavior:
NEW: January Kills Me - Evan Katy
It was kind of hard to find a different genre for you from my own TBR - we seem to have a lot of the same tastes. I didn’t find many cozies on your lists, so I selected this one. I’m not sure it’s technically a cozy, but it feels like one to me. I’m not a big cozy fan myself, but I do enjoy this series.

TBR: Visions of HeatV - Nalini Singh
This is the oldest on your TBR but I can’t tell if you’ve actually read it. If you have, then go for this one instead: Giving Chase - Lauren Dane.
