I'm going with "The State We're In" from Team Barca.

message 365: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Yeah I did. I gave it three stars - worth the read, especially to see what life has been like in Afghanistan for the last 30 years, especially for women. It certainly pulls on the heartstrings at times.

It really does, yes. There were parts where I resented the extreme information dump at times but the book definitely gives some interesting insight!

The new goal is:

"Read a book that contains the word chamomile".

I have to be off for a couple of hours, but I'll come back to search for the word in our finished books.
If someone comes across it, or remembers having read it in one of their books, please give us a shout :-)

Anything not human (except from cats & dogs - unless they transform, like grendel in Kate Daniels or are "special" like mouse from Dresden) or a human with special abilities.
