It really does, yes. There were parts where I resented the extreme information dump at times but the book definitely gives some interesting insight!

as far as I can see none of read-but-not-used books is tagged classic

Anything not human (except from cats & dogs - unless they transform, like grendel in Kate Daniels or are "special" like mouse from Dresden) or a human with special abilities.
