Monica (nutz4reading) I don't know how you guys can keep up with this thread and still read books that fast. I am reading 6 books and probably won't finish one of them this week. (PS My son is moving tomorrow so I have been cleaning and packing things)

I don't know if any of my books fit a current challenge (Since the challenges seem to change every minute). Once I finish a book I will post all info and then see if it fits a current challenge.

Tea and other captains - I will try to update spreadsheets but not sure if I have access to all of them. Or if you want to only have a few people with access to your sheet. I only access the sheets at night and only for a short time (up early so in bed early) & because they don't work on my work computer during the day (the browser we use is old at work and they don't load correctly or they crash).

I am going to go and try to get some reading done.

You could read Stephen King (The Gunslinger). That one is first in series :P

I considered that too Tea! I may have it on my bookshelf as it is a series I want to read at some point.
I need to get my son ready and the morning started, so I'll check in around an hour. We may not need to use a boon quite yet

message 156: by Lau (new)

Lau Maia | 0 comments Well I have time to read cause I'm waiting to being call to a job, I'm at home because my employer lost the contract at the place I worked so they are trying to fit me someplace else. This means I'm on a paid vacation and I have lots of time on my hands. Nevertheless I read a book at a time and listen to a audio as well so that I can rest my eyes and knit or do something else for a while but yeah if I was working I wouldn't read this much.

Paid vacation sounds decent enough! Especially since you have lots of reading time! :-)

Though hopefully they'll find you a new place soon!

I am off to bed now. I won't be around much tomorrow morning (my time zone) either, so I'll check and update everything where necessary once I'm back at the computer a little later in the day.

message 160: by Lau (new)

Lau Maia | 0 comments I hope so really, I'm not used to being home all day and I'm getting tired of it but then it could be worst ehehe.

I haven't chosen my next audio but I'll post here tomorrow when I do. In the mean time I'll finish the book for the number page 20 goal tomorrow as well

No problems ladies!

Ok, I have The Gunslinger and I've been putting it off for long enough, so this is a good excuse to read it (pet name starting with Z!)

I also just forced myself to finish
Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List by Rachel Cohn
purely because it is a short book, otherwise I should have thrown it into the "did not finish" pile. The characters were just all self absorbed and very difficult to like or care about

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments Hahahaha as I was reading your post I thought you were going to say "you wanted to throw it in the trash" LOL

Scotland Yard falls under the police category in my book. But we'll have to wait for someone else to update the goal anyway, so we'll get a second opinion at the same time :-)

*47865 words is definitely enough to count.

It needs to be a live dinosaur to count, so it seems like it could work, but I'll ask with the mods to be absolutely sure.

NEW GOALS

Read a book with a perfect square number of pages

And if your not a math nerd, here is a definition I found:

Read a book with 3 O's in the title

Off to check our read books

I ended up really liking it. 4 stars. It had enough action and drama to where I didn't get bored. I think the movie will probably be very good too. I kept envisioning a movie script as I read. It was good enough to make me give Sparks another chance LOL.

Ok, so I think
Uma Seta no Coração Do Dia
at 180 pages is a perfect square.

Anyone want to double check that one for me? :o

I'll try googling an easy way to check

EDIT - nope I'm wrong. *sigh*

13x13 = 169
14x14 = 196

Hopefully I'm doing this right. Math is not my strong suit either :p
