Katherine (kiik) | 158 comments Hello, all! On Friday we finished up week 41. (Only 11 left, ahhhhh!) Is anyone else freaking out that another year has almost gone by?

So this week I completed Peter Pan (100 years old) and Ice Like Fire (love triangle). That's 39 for me.

Tara Bates | 1008 comments Uuuuuhhhhhggg it's a good thing I was a bit ahead because I still haven't finished my book published in 1982 that I was reading last update lol

message 3: by Nicole (new)

Nicole 11 weeks?!? Really! I have not finished a book this week. And I think it's going to be a couple weeks before I do. I should probably double up and read a second book while I slowly make my way through Omnivore's Dilemma. I have at least 13 more to read :(

message 4: by Christophe (new)

Christophe Bonnet I'll count Saturday as part of the week; that way I can proudly say I finished two: Tender Is the Night (A book with a love triangle) and The Crazy Green of Second Avenue (A book with a color in the title).

43 books done (45 actually , if you count the three books of the trilogy); two are on their way; I have plans for two more, maybe three. Getting there!

Kaci | 67 comments Two books this week for me! Scarpetta by Patricia Cornwell for my 500 page book, which was a decent mystery novel. I'm visiting family so am grabbing books off my parents shelves. I also read The God Question written by Dave Morse who is a coworker of my mother's. I used this to loosely fill the "book that scares me" prompt because I found it very intimidating.

Tara Bates | 1008 comments Ok just finished Life, the Universe and Everything which satisfies a book published the year I was born. So 1 lol also that would be number 43.

message 7: by Sara (new)

Sara I have three prompts left, and two of them will be complete soon I hope. Last week I finished three books though NONE of them would fill a remaining prompt! :( I read After You by JoJo Moyes. Didn't like it as much as the first book (Me Before You). I also read The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin, and See You at Harry's by Jo Knowles.

Right now I am almost done with Jane Eyre for a classic romance. I am also reading Where the Red Fern Grows in an attempt to find a book that will make me cry. If this one doesn't do it, I think I will have to settle for a book that makes me really, really sad.

I am getting ready to start Gods and Generals which will fill my last prompt - a book set in my hometown.

I will definitely feel a sense of accomplishment when I complete the challenge, but I still have work to do. I set myself a goal of 75 books this year. I have finished 67 so I still have plenty of reading to do for the remainder of the year!

Megan (mghrt06) | 546 comments I finished up my love triangle prompt this week. I'm currently 61% done with my classic romance.

Nine prompts to go for me. I'm taking vacation the Wed-Sunday so I hope to pack my book with bad reviews and hopefully it won't be that bad since I'll be by the pool!

message 9: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 722 comments I read Devil in the White City this week and really enjoyed it. I'm currently rereading the second Harry Potter. Next up will be Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. I have 10 prompts left I think and probably half of them I've got books for.

message 10: by Neptunalia (new)

Neptunalia (wxguesser1800) Last week I finished Idiot America: How Stupidity Became a Virtue in the Land of the Free (a book that scares me), Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass (a book more than 100 years old), and Sadako and the 1000 Paper Cranes (a book that was published the year I was born).

I have finished 49 of 52 books (counting the trilogy as separate books).

I'm currently reading Angela's Ashes (a book that won the Pulitzer Prize) and The Scarlet Letter (a classical romance).

My last book of the challenge will be A Christmas Carol (a book set during Christmas), but I won't start reading it until December.

message 11: by Tara (new)

Tara Bates | 1008 comments I did scarlet letter for classical romance too :) I don't think I knew Angela's ashes had won but maybe I overlooked it when I was looking at the list since I had read it :)

message 12: by Emily (last edited Oct 20, 2015 05:47PM) (new)

Emily (emilyesears) I finished Station Eleven today and that counts for a book set in the future. It's been over a month since I read a book that met a prompt so I'm pleased. I've done 41 books and have 11 to go.

message 13: by Alycia (new)

Alycia | 65 comments I finished Circling the Sun by Paula McClain for my book based on a true story, and Twenty-One Balloons by William Pene du Bois for a book from my childhood. Currently reading Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri for my Pulitzer Prize winner. I think I have 9 more prompts to go!
