Neil Carstairs | 662 comments Round 2 review deadline day is today

message 159: by Noah (new)

Noah Nichols (nanmanme) I know the deadline's today, but I need an extension. I had my daughter all weekend and just had no time to finish up The Chamber. Sorry for the delay! Hopefully this shamed admittance doesn't sentence me to an eternal damnation.

As it's my book I'll let you off a few days, Noah, but try to be on target for R3.

Rafael (rafaelnyc) | 115 comments Hi Neil !!

i believe the links I posted below fulfill my review requirements for the group.

Thank you for your calm, steady hand on 100E's tiller. And a heartfelt thank you to my fellow authors for the privilege of reading their work and to the rest who made it a blast.

I leave you all with a traditional Jamaican parting. More life, more strength !!

message 169: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Redfern | 19 comments That's it for me too.

Many thanks to the moderators and to the folks in the group. I picked up some valuable pointers, added a few more books to my 'to-read' list, and increased my Twitter follows.

I wish there was a traditional Californian parting... I'll go with, "Live Long and Prosper."

message 170: by Neil (new)

Neil Carstairs | 662 comments Thanks, Lisa. Keep an eye out for more now forming rounds, you'll be more than welcome to join

message 171: by Leo (new)

Leo McBride (leomcbride) | 115 comments Can I just add an extra note to suggest people take a look at Lisa's review for Mists over on Amazon? Not plugging our book here, but pointing out that she took the time and energy to create a work of art inspired by the book, attached to the bottom of the review - for which I and the fellow authors involved in Tales From The Mists feel deeply touched. We doff our collective hats to you, Lisa, that's one of the most wonderful moments since we published our little collection.

message 172: by Rafael (new)

Rafael (rafaelnyc) | 115 comments Nice image and technique, Lisa. And it just so happens, it's for one of the better souls on this forum.

The Dead Game, on the other hand, received a poor review from Lisa. My sales were so much better before I joined this group. Never again.

message 179: by Jacob (new)

Jacob I should have my review up today, but it will be very late this evening, possibly even a little after midnight.

message 180: by Neil (new)

Neil Carstairs | 662 comments I think we can allow that, Jacob. Midnight and Horror go together well.

message 181: by Jacob (new)

Jacob And now finally, here is my review of Sebastian: The Life of Sebastian and Hanna Greene.

/review/show...

Unfortunately, both Amazons seem to be delayed tonight. I posted I on both, but they aren't showing up yet. I will come back when I wake up tomorrow, and post again with the links.

message 182: by Neil (new)

Neil Carstairs | 662 comments Thanks, Jacob. There have been comments on other threads about the slowness of both Amazons recently.

Not many more reviews are due to come in but as a general reminder the final date for Round 4 is 17th July

Elizabeth Johnson | 86 comments Thank you Jacob, for your lovely review.

message 184: by Jacob (new)

Jacob Really enjoyed the book Elizabeth.

The Amazon reviews still aren't showing this morning. I will keep checking during the day.

message 185: by Jacob (new)

Jacob Finally got emails from Amazon with review links

message 186: by Neil (new)

Neil Carstairs | 662 comments The clock is ticking. In one week's time the bell will toll, the cellar door open and the monster will emerge to devour anyone who hasn't submitted their final review for the Horror round.

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Grrrrrrrr

message 188: by Karl (new)

Karl Whiting | 11 comments OK! With this review of Lisa's Haylee trilogy, I'm done. Phew! This was my first review round experience here on GR and it was a lot of work but well worth it. Got to read 4 fun books and was fortunate enough to enjoy them all. Looking forward to doing another round sometime in the future.

Neil Carstairs | 662 comments Susanne and Jacob, thanks for your final reviews. The cellar door has closed for you.

message 197: by Karl (new)

Karl Whiting | 11 comments Much appreciated, Jacob.

Does anyone know why I can access Jacob's Amazon and Amazon UK review links just fine on their own as a separate pages, but when I go to the page for my book it isn't there? Is it just an issue of time?

message 198: by Neil (new)

Neil Carstairs | 662 comments I can see 4 reviews on your book's page including Jacob's on both .com and .co.uk

message 199: by Karl (new)

Karl Whiting | 11 comments Neil wrote: "I can see 4 reviews on your book's page including Jacob's on both .com and .co.uk"

Whoops, I got confused. How odd - it says "4 customer reviews" but there are actually 5 (the amount I expected). You have to go digging a bit to find all 5. Anyway, glad they're all accounted for - I've heard tales of mysteriously vanishing reviews so I fretted for a moment.

message 200: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments I'm going to close this group, everyone apart from one member has completed and that member has only posted one review.

Group policy: Penalties for not completing reviews as agreed include being blacklisted. Also people who have reviewed this member already (Noah) are invited to remove their reviews, although this is by no means compulsory. It is unfair that an author benefits from the process when they haven't fulfilled their obligation.

Thanks to Neil for modding and everyone who diligently finished their reviews.
You'll find this group in the 'finished rounds' folder from now on.
