Emma Jaye | 3695 comments This thread is now open for you to join GROUP 108 by adding your GR (not Amazon) book link. We have 10 places I’ll add your name as you sign in.

When you add your book link it not only indicates you want to join the group it indicates you AGREE that you are WILLING TO READ AND REVIEW ANY ALLOCATED BOOK within the set 12 week limit.
This is the 18+ group. You can enter any genre book in this group, but should be aware that they will predominantly be reviewing books with explicit sex (in all its possible combinations) and/or violence. If this subject matter offends you, please do not join this group.
There is no genre filtering.
Allocation is entirely random and there will NOT be any rearranging of the listing to accommodate genre preference. The ONLY circumstance in which you may duck out of giving a review is if YOU provide a stand-in reviewer.

Let’s be honest here we don’t all like the same things but we all want reviews. The only way this group can function is if we trust each other to behave honourably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please see this thread:
/topic/show/...
Do not sign up until you have completed all your reviews in another review round in the group.

Make sure you have an author profile set up before you join and that your book is available for sale on amazon (not pre-order).

Please let me know as you sign up if you have been reviewed by, or have reviewed another author in the group. It is permissible to review an author more than once if a different book is available, but reciprocal reviews within the group are strictly prohibited.
Your group moderator will be
Emma Jaye

Marie-Jo Fortis | 114 comments Hi Emma, I'd like to join with From A to Zoe:
/book/show/2...

I believe Marco already reviewed my book. Thanks for your help. You're always so efficient anyway.

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Nice to see you again Marie-Jo.

Randall S. Davis (randalls) Hi, Emma. I would like to join with Dark Flames Rising:

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Welcome Randall.

message 8: by L.N. (new)

L.N. Denison | 1004 comments I would like to add a new, revised version of my novella, Oscar to this group, as I think it fits the requirements quite nicely. Here are my links:

message 9: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Welcome L.N. Nice to see you again.

message 10: by Marco (new)

Marco Peel | 143 comments Hi Emma, L.N. did a very nice review of my book in group 91, so I don't think I'm allowed to return the favour, much as I'd like to...

message 11: by L.N. (new)

L.N. Denison | 1004 comments Oh yes, I forgot to mention that I have already reviewed Marco...oops!

message 12: by E.P. (new)

E.P. | 28 comments Hi Emma, I'd like to add my book The Midnight Land: Part One: The Flight to the group. I wasn't sure whether it would be a better fit here or in the General group, but I decided to go with this one since my book does have some pretty mature subject matter, even though it's not graphic. I haven't reviewed or been reviewed by anyone on the list so far.

message 13: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments L.N. I can fit you in, but you'll have to review Marco again, he does have another book.

E.P. its up to you what group you chose, the general group is an 'anything goes' group, so your book would fit in fine there. It boils down to what you'd prefer to read, a potluck of different books in a general, or probably more graphic material here.

message 14: by L.N. (new)

L.N. Denison | 1004 comments Thanks =).

message 15: by E.P. (new)

E.P. | 28 comments I've already reviewed something from the general group, so I think I'd rather stay here.

message 16: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Ok, I'll add you in.

message 17: by E.P. (new)

E.P. | 28 comments Thanks!

message 18: by Soosie (new)

Soosie Nova | 5 comments /book/show/3...

Sorry I added the wrong link on my first post.

Could I please join with the above book?

Thanks :)

message 19: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Welcome aboard Soosie. Have you tried adding your cover to your book listing on goodreads?

Emma

message 20: by Soosie (new)

Soosie Nova | 5 comments Thanks, I've done that now.

It was automatic on my last one, I didn't realise I could do it myself.

message 21: by Barnaby (new)

Barnaby Hazen | 36 comments Hi Emma -- I would like to jump in with /book/show/2...

Thanks, Barnaby

message 22: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Welcome Barnaby

message 23: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) Hi, this group looks good to me so far in terms of avoiding clashes with prior reviews. I've reviewed Marco before, but that was for a different book. Marie-Jo has reviewed me before, but that was for a different book. No other clashes.

Emma, I'm still in two other review groups, but I figured this group is a little slow to form. I have two books each in those other groups and I'm still comfortably ahead of the deadlines. No problem if you want to kick me out.

Life II

message 24: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Give me a shout when you've completed your other reviews Scott and I'll add you in.

message 25: by Robin (new)

Robin Peacock (rubik101) | 145 comments Hi Emma. I am about to publish a memoir today! I will post the link asap. Please reserve a spot for me. Very adult with a LOT of sex!

message 26: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Can't do that Robin, although I'd like to. Rules are the book has to be available on amazon when you post the links. So pleese hurry up with those links.
Its a shame I can't wiggle myself into this round, it looks like there are some interesting reads included.

message 27: by Robin (new)

Robin Peacock (rubik101) | 145 comments I posted it about an hour ago....nothing yet!

message 28: by Robin (new)

Robin Peacock (rubik101) | 145 comments Here is Book 3 in the Charlie series. I don't think it's been up here before. I will save the new book for next time!

message 29: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments You can always offer the new one to your reviewers (who haven't already reviewed you) when it becomes available, I just need something to put on the list in the meantime.

Tara Woods Turner | 20 comments Beyond Good Manners: How to Raise a Sophisticated Child

Would it be possible to have the audiobook version of my book reviewed here for Audible? Thanks.

message 31: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Tara, this group is geared towards ebooks, and you've already signed up for the 'clean' group which is a far more appropriate place for your book than this group which deal with graphic adult and violent material.

Tara Woods Turner | 20 comments Okay, learning the ropes ha ha. Thank you :)

message 33: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments I'm not in this one Carly. But I can move things around so that Robin reviews you again.

message 34: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments It does matter if you were assigned to review Robin.

message 35: by Marco (new)

Marco Peel | 143 comments Hi Emma, I'm afraid I've reviewed Robin Peacock's Life Interrupted by Death, so I don't think he can review me. I'd be delighted to review his new book though.

message 36: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Thanks for letting me know Marco.

message 37: by Robin (new)

Robin Peacock (rubik101) | 145 comments Hi Emma. This is the memoir I would like reviewed. Is it too late to change books? Maybe you should read a bit of it and decide it it's publishable!!!!

message 38: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments goodreads link please Robin!

message 39: by Robin (new)

Robin Peacock (rubik101) | 145 comments Emma, please forgive me! To help out with the duplication etc, please add the following title to the group for review.

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments All done.

message 41: by L.N. (new)

message 46: by Laurette (new)

Laurette Long | 200 comments Hi Emma I have just joined the group and if there's still a place left to sign up for this particular review group, I'd like to add

/book/show/2...

Does it matter if the book cover on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ is out of date? I got a new one a few weeks ago. The book itself and title hasn't changed.

Thanks
Laurette

message 47: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Not a problem Laurette, and yep we have one place left. I'll sign you up and get the allocation of who is reading who sorted ASAP.

Please remember the commitment you are making to your fellow group members. If you pull out after the start date for any reason it is the other members who will be faced with the problem of finding a replacement, or missing out on reviews, through no fault of their own. Please don’t ask the moderators to chase after replacements as we just don’t have the time.

It is the responsibility of the author to get their book to their reviewer in a format the reviewer can manage. Everyone must be able to accept PDF. There are no set dates for the start of each round. You can each work at your own pace, within the limits of the round deadlines.

When you have posted your reviews, please post the three links to your reviews in this thread.

All reviews must be posted to GR, Amazon .com and Amazon.co.uk.

Postings to any other sites are by agreement by both author and reviewer.

If I’ve missed something that results in you being asked to review someone who has already reviewed you, please let me know asap.

To exchange book files, my advice is to use PM to give email addresses to each other (save the chance of spammers getting your addies from this open forum). Happy reviewing, everyone :)

message 49: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments As the mod for group 105 I will be tracking progress and trying to keep the group on schedule, by posting reminders of when rounds end and prodding if someone is a little slow with posting their reviews. I am also here to help with any queries or problems you may have.

To help things go smoothly for all participants;

Everyone should send out copies of his/her work to FOUR the four authors under their name in the first list. They should receive, READ and REVIEW the four authors under their name in the second list.

1. Each author is responsible for the delivery of their respective books to the assigned reviewers. The usual formats are pdf, mobi/kindle, and epub. If anyone needs to convert the format of a book, useful (free) methods are Calibre or Draft2digital so you could download one of those. It is fine to download a book via KU if you wish, but please let the author know that this is what you are doing so they don't panic about you not getting their book.

2. Reviews should be honest (e.g., you must have read the book) and civil. Your review does not have to be Positive (three stars or more). There should not be any discussion of the reviews on the Group thread other than 'thank you'. Do not contact your reviewer privately if you think the review is unfair, having access to them via the group is not a reason to remonstrate with them.

3. Consider your fellow readers and avoid 'spoilers' if possible. Keep your comments about the book, not the author.

4. You can help me a lot by posting all three links (to GR and Amazons US & UK) at once, and by ensuring that you are giving the links to your actual review, not the book's page. Both Amazons will send you the links to the review when they have posted it. It should not take long.

5. Some of you will already have experience reviewing, and everyone has their own approach. But if you do want some useful advice, there is a link to advice in the sign up message.

6. There is sometimes a very good reason why people fall behind (family crises, illness, alien abduction, dead laptop) but try and let me know if you need more time. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know, either by posting here or by messaging me.

I'm open to being 'friended' by group members.

L.N. Denison | 1004 comments I won'The back in the UK until the 8th, so whoever has Oscar for round one, I'll send it to you when I get home, or if you have Kindle Unlimited, it's free on that.

I look forward to receiving my reading material =).
