Review:

3/4 of the way through this book I nearly put this book down. There is a page towards the end of this book where MC Mac talks about Liminal and time spent in liminal and the waiting. That's what the 3rd quarter of this book felt like Time spent in liminal waiting for something to happen and the rest of the story/series to continue. Thankfully I continued through as the ending more than made up for it. OH MY GOODNESS that cliff hanger! I went from not sure I was going to continue the series to OMG I need the next book now in a about a second.

Now excuse me I need to go buy book 4...

Gabe and Megan's story was very sweet. I liked that Gabe helped Megan believe in love again. I also loved the other Sullivan family characters who made appearances and Megan's daughter, Summer. Summer could have stolen the spotlight, she was too cute. This book also gave a little preview of the next couple and I am looking forward to one of the Sullivan girls' story next.

Review:
Twenty years ago, Waxillium Ladrian turned his back on the city of Elendel and became a lawkeeper in the Roughs. Now he's back, after a fatal carriage accident has left him in charge of his almost destitute noble house. But while Wax is grudgingly attempting to ingratiate himself with high society and arrange a marriage to refill House Ladrian's empty coffers, he may also once more have use for the skills he honed in the Roughs. A rash of mysterious robberies and abductions catches his interest, and while he begins to look into the matter, his old partner Wayne - master of disguises and casual thievery - turns up on his doorstep. When the woman Wax is hoping to marry becomes the latest kidnapping victim, he swears to get her back. Armed with Allomancy, Feruchemy and an impressive assortment of firearms, Wax and Wayne combine forces with a young law student to track down the Vanishers.

While I remember the original Mistborn trilogy quite well even after five years and a couple of thousand other books, I wanted a refresher for this one before moving on to the next parts. Turns out I enjoyed it every bit as much on the second read as the first time around! Set in the same world several hundred years in the future from the end of the first trilogy, "The Alloy of Law" has all the ingredients that make this author's works so amazing: great characters, a captivating story moving along at a perfect pace, a fascinating magic system, and superb writing. Can't wait to finally continue the series!

I liked this one but Elli got on my nerves at times with all her whining and insecurity about her body image. Shea was sweet and understanding. Their misunderstanding was predictable and the way she went off on him about it was crazy. I felt the book could have been much shorter and the story would have been better. I will continue with the series because I have heard good things about it.

I really enjoyed this fourth instalment. After the cliffhanger of book 3, I didn't know where this would go but I actually enjoyed it more than Faefever. I felt like we finally started getting some answers in this book ( even though it then generated twice as many questions). Although I have to wonder how many more things cannot happen to Mac over the course of this series. I feel like this series is getting bigger and better and I can't wait to see where it goes

Review:
The city of Elendel is a powderkeg waiting to explode as a spree of bloody crimes provokes civil unrest and religious conflict. Wax trades wedding preparations for hunting killers, supported by his old friend from the Roughs Wayne and his fiancées sister Marasi, who has exchanged her ambitions to become a solicitor for solving crimes as a constable. But there's a lot more to these crimes than it seems, and they'll need all their skills, magical and mundane, to put an end to the violent attacks before the whole city erupts in chaos. The gods move in mysterious ways - especially in Scadrial.

Part fantasy, part crime thriller, all awesome pageturner! Sanderson keeps the plot twists coming and throws in one hell of a reveal - I'm very glad indeed I already have the next part sitting on my shelf, because holy hell, I need to know how this continues! A brilliant read, just as expected.

In truth, my feelings about this book are kind of like Abby and Travis' relationship through out much of this book. At times I really liked it and other times I really hated it.

I found Abby and Travis' relationship really disturbing and destructive at times. The way Travis' acted at times when Abby wasn't talking to him or seeing someone else was downright creepy and even scary. The way he was obsessed with Abby, and manipulated her in the name of love. Even worse was the way Abby let him. I found it all just messy

That being said though, there are relationships like that, especially in college, that are messy and destructive and as a story this was a very easy read, despite my opinion of Abby and Travis' relationship and despite my mixed feelings about the book, I still find myself drawn to other books in the series.

I gave this book 3 stars because i am still in two minds about this book and maybe for some time to come

I always enjoy a visit to Booktown. In this installment, Tricia is investigating the death of her best friend at the Founder's Day festival when she discovers a trail of secrets and lies. The mystery was well developed and kept me guessing. I had no idea who the killer was until Tricia figured it out. All of the characters in this series are entertaining and it will be interesting to see what happens next.

Not a pushover, she knows what she wants out of life. P.W. also never fails to write a perfect bad boy that you cant help falling for. I loved this book! If you have never read a book by her you definitely should start now!

Review: Omg! I am loving this series! Rarely do I read a series back to back but after reading book one, Monster in His Eyes, I found it impossible not to begin this book immediately! I dont recall ever reading any mafia type books before this. I didnt think I'd like them. But I do. I really, really do!

I enjoyed reading Naz's POV. Ignazio Vitale is a bad man. He knows this and he has made sure Karissa knows it too. But he loves her and his love is what she focuses on. I LOVED the silent treatment Karissa was giving Naz in the beginning. It was amusing knowing he wouldnt tolerate that treatment from anyone. Ive already started the final book. This series has certainly become a favorite of mine with Torture to Her Soul being the best! If you like a bit of dark & twisty then I HIGHLY recommened this trilogy!

I really enjoyed this book and I felt like we had a lot of questions answered in this book. What i love most is that i nothing is ever cut and dried or black and white nor are the characters, everyone one of them, even the MC is made up of bits of black and White and the good guys don't always stay the good guys and vice versa.

Whilst I am not a huge love triangle fan, this one is not so bad and while Liv can be just a little to perfect at times, I am still enjoying following her story.

This book is a great mix of urban fantasy , mystery and romance and the plot flows flawlessly. I was in this book from beginning to end and I give it 5 stars

Review:
Legend has it that a set of bracers once worn by the Lord Ruler, known as the Bands of Mourning, hold the secret to granting any who wear them the same immense powers wielded by their maker. Of course nowadays, scarcely anyone still believes in their existence... until a kandra scholar returns from an expedition with pictures and writings that seem to not only prove their existence but also show where they can be found. Our heroes set off to the southern city of New Seran to investigate this potential discovery as well as what Wax's uncle Edwarn and the Set might be up to next.

It would seem that Brandon Sanderson is only satisfied with a book he's written if it will have the reader turn the last page and gape at it for five minutes utterly flabbergasted thinking "Holy fuck, did that just happen?!". This book is another prime example, because, holy fuck, did that just happen? Oooooh my. There's always another secret, indeed. Also, the character development over these books is absolutely stellar, and while I couldn't stand Steris in The Alloy of Law, I absolutely adore her by now. Now if only I didn't have to wait so goddamn long until the release of the next book... Well, guess I'll just have to re-read the original trilogy and delve into Secret History for the time being.

I enjoyed this book a little more than the first two books in the series. It seemed to move at a faster pace and is action packed with Rachel facing off with Agaliarept and finding a new relationship. I was not a big fan of Kisten at the beginning but he is growing on me. A couple of new characters are introduced in Ceri and David and a few favorites were more developed in this book. However, Jenks is scarce in the second half of the book and I missed him. It will be interesting to see where the series goes from here and I hope for more Jenks in the next book.

Review:
Death has no respect for the holidays, but Lieutenant Eve Dallas would rather spend her time hunting for a brutal serial killer than subject herself to the horrors of Christmas shopping anyway. Still recovering from injuries, she nevertheless needs to go all in on her latest case: The killer is on a tight schedule, and the only discernible connection between his victims the investigating team have been able to find so far is use of a dating service called Personally Yours.

I overdosed on these books somewhat a while ago and really had to take a break, but by now I very much enjoyed being back with Eve and the gang. While I must still be the only person who likes these books but doesn't really care for Roarke and would much like to skip all the romance scenes, I really like the mysteries and the rest of the characters and will always be back for more. Eve's slapdash yet thoughtful gift shopping in this one was a nice touch, really loved that.
