Sometimes we get a little caught up in the shiny and bright novels and begin to neglect the series that we've always wanted to finish. Well this week is your chance to revisit and maybe finish one of those series!
For those reading in order: May 22-May 28

No suggestions for this category! Go back through your 'My Books' section if you're needing some help!

Progress Post:
- What are you reading this week?
- What is the book a continuation of?
- When did you read the previous book?
- What are you most looking forward to in the continuation of the story?

The Half Bad Trilogy
When did you read the previous book?
September 2015
What are you most looking forward to in the continuation of the story?
To find out how Nathan survives and if he finds his friends

message 3: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (driftingsong) (driftingsong) | 56 comments I'm not reading in order. It also might take me more than one week as I'm also starting another book + planning a trip + looking for a job + I'm a full time teacher writing reports and not on vacation yet ; ) , but I'm reading The Golem's Eye.

This is a continuation of The Bartimaeus Trilogy / The Amulet of Samarkand which I read July of last year

What I'm most looking forward to is seeing how Nathaniel aka. John Mandrake develops, considering that he is not a likeable character in the first book, but I still love his and Bart's relationship and I've heard he develops a lot over the course of the novels (while still remaining true to who he is at his core). I'm also curious to get more of Bartimaeus who's commentary is the star of these books. XD

message 4: by Lee-Ann (last edited Jan 01, 2017 10:00AM) (new)

Lee-Ann I'm not reading in order, and I chose to start 2017 with a book that wraps up a 10 part series that I've been working on for some time, Last Call by J.A. Konrath. This book also has many "side" novels that include the characters written by Konrath and Crouch together. I spent a great deal of 2016 working on these. They're easy, fun reads that incorporate humor and serial killers, which is right up my alley. I read #9 of the Jacqueline Daniels series at the very end of Dec 2016, so it's still fresh in my memory. I'm looking forward to finding out what finally happens to Luther Kite, and how Jack moves on with her life once he's taken care of (I'm assuming he gets taken care of, but Konrath could have left it open for a #11 in the future, who knows!).

I love historical mysteries, and this series is set way back in time in 1193 at the court of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Richard the Lionheart. I also started the series as I have also wanted to read Sharon Penman, but can't quite feel like tackling 900+ pages of her best known work The Sunne in Splendour

Vicky D (readingwithmrsd) | 28 comments In Plain Sight In Plain Sight (Joe Pickett, #6) by C.J. Box

I'm reading In Plain Sight by C.J. Box.
It's book 6 in the Joe Pickett series.
I've listened to several of these on audible over the last few years but generally out of sequence. I set myself the challenge - towards the end of 2016 - of reading the entire series in order, buying the missing books. This is where I'm currently up to.
There are two new books at the end of the series and I'm looking forward to getting everything in order and filling in the gaps before I allow myself to buy the new ones.
