Only books STARTED after the challenge begins can count.
Your finished books need to be on your Uno shelf AND marked as "read" with a read date during the challenge for them to count.
Books must be more than 100 pages in length and Children's books and Graphic Novels can not be used unless by word count they can be verified as more than 25,000 words using arbookfind.com
Series numbers used are 1 to 9, and stand alone books counts as 0.

This is a social challenge, not a competitive one. We'd love to get points, but the main aim of the game is to have fun, read lots and get to know each other :)

I'm Tina and I'm one of your co-capitains. I'm from Sweden and this is my third year playing UNO. Uno 2015 was one of my first challenges here on ŷ and I've been addicted to them ever since:) I also found some really good friends in that challenge, I hope this year is no different.
I've never read any Harry Dresden books, but I've heard so much about them and they're on my TBR:)
Let me know the link to your Uno-shelf and I'll update message 5.
If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask:)
Have fun!

Shame on you, read Harry Dresden! They're awesome :-D And they get better with each book. Lots of great plot lines and twists!

Maybe this is the challenge that changes that. I mean, I can't be in a team without knowing the Icon of this team;)

And I second E, you need to read / listen to Dresden, they are great. Fair warning - don't listen while in line at the grocery store - people will stare at you when you burst out laughing ;)
And James Masters.... need I say more? ;)

I'm Caly and I am also one of your co- captains. I live in Knoxville, TN in the USA so it looks like we have several time zones covered. I think that will be helpful as we play because someone will always be awake LOL
This is my first time playing UNO and first time as a co-captain, but I fell in love with team challenges playing Wobble last year and I can't wait for this challenge to start.
My favorite genres are Historical Fiction, Fantasy and recently Suspense though I will read just about anything except Romance.
I feel better now knowing that Tina has not read and Harry Dresden either , *Grin Though I can't believe I have missed the series so far, it looks wonderful and I have already put Storm Front on hold at the library to read as my first book when we start playing. I am not a fan of audiobooks either but will see how it goes.
Here is my shelf. /review/list/9658640-caly?shelf=2017-uno-team
Look forward to getting to know you all, being a great co- captain and Having Fun!
Happy Reading all!

this is my shelf /review/list...
I haven't read any Harry dresden either and cant say that i would paranormal fantasy is not my genre
I like contemporary fiction, I can do fantasy and science fiction- hate romance and am finding that i read more and more non-fiction lately
books that will work for reverse
My Name Is Lucy Barton
The Woman in Cabin 10
The Girl In The Ice Caly
When Breath Becomes Air
The Girl in 6E Tina
Small Great Things Alissa
Breakfast at Tiffany's

Seems many of us need to get to know our team Icon but that is what makes ŷ fun , it stretches my reading genres for sure.
I hate romance as well so you are in good company here.
Have a great day!

If I missed you by mistake please go ahead and add me as a friend.
Caly

Have you played UNO before? Have you done any other team challenges? What was your favorite book of 2016? and what are you currently reading now?
my answers- This is my first time playing UNO though I did play WOBBLE last year with the NBRC group.
My favorite book of 2016 was

and I am currently reading

Ok, while you both hate Romance, that's one of my favorites:) I'm not fond of non-fiction, other than that I can read pretty much anything.

Obviously Kate Daniels will win ;)
"
We will see about that, about that we will see;)

That is why we will make an awesome team! Go Harry!

I may not know Harry Dresden that well yet but I have a feeling he (an we as a team can kick ass) *Grin

As I mentioned earlier, this is my third time playing Uno. I've done a lot of team challenges, can't remember them all:) But I don't think I've met any of you anywhere before? Look forward to get to know you:)
My favorite books (I can't just pick one!) of 2016 was

I am currently reading

My name is Dragana and I'm from Serbia (small country in south-eastern Europe).
I adore books and reading. It's my favorite thing to do. My tastes changed during the years. Currently I read mostly uf, fantasy and sf with a couple of contemporaries and historicals.
Here's a link to my shelf:

Now to answer Caly's question:
This is my first Uno but I played a lot of team challenges before. I'm a bit of a challenge addict. :)
My favorite books in 2016 were

Currently I am reading Mercy Thompson series.
Oh and btw Haven't read Harry Dresden too. Just a first book long time ago.

I am Ingeborg and I'm from Norway. Which makes Tina and me neighbours more or less. I love reading, obviously, and drawing, writing and hanging out with the horse I'm looking after.
My shelf, /review/list....
This is my first UNO, and I've never played any team challenges before, but I did a Walking Dead boardgame challenge last year, and it was great. Looking forward to this one. :)
Favourite book of 2016 was definitely

Right now I'm reading

And surprise, I haven't read any Harry Dresden either. :D

Have you played UNO before? No and am a bit worried about understanding the rules
Have you done any other team challenges?
I am a challenge-a-holic
I do the SRC challenge (2nd time), Wobble sometimes and
NBRC and AMMP challenges so many on go at moment
What was your favorite book of 2016? and what are you currently reading now?
I really enjoyed Dandelion Wine it just evoked memories of my childhood. Despite having a MPG of science fiction it is anything but.
Today i am readingMy Tomorrow, Your Yesterday it fits and SRC task and is turning out to be really interesting
A bit about myself - I am from the UK and live in God's own County of Yorkshire although our countryside is soon to be ripped through by HS2 the high speed train line. I Am soon going to be 60, have 3 children and six grandchildren and am a retired ICU nurse I love walking and especially coast walks
I read voraciously and will try most things - except romance / paranormal stuff. I don't love YA books but have read the odd good one.
My favourite authors are Jasper Fforde, Clare North and Ian Rankin

I am Ingeborg and I'm from Norway. Which makes Tina and me neighbours more or less. I love reading, obviously, and drawing, writing and hanging out with the horse I'm looking aft..."
OH i am going to Norway on a cruise to see the Northern Lights for my 60th I cannot wait

I am Ingeborg and I'm from Norway. Which makes Tina and me neighbours more or less. I love reading, obviously, and drawing, writing and hanging out with the horse I'm looking aft..."
Hello neighbour:) Vad kul att vi är två skandinaver i laget!

Most of you are about 7 hours ahead of me so I may be playing catch up a bit so bear with me.
I work full time at Whole Foods Market here in TN in the Produce Department and my hours are 6AM - 3PM so you will usually find me on line very early in the morning and after work for a bit.
I think it is so funny that so far none of us have read any Harry Dresden books! Perhaps we should make that an in-team personal challenge to all read at least one. I know I am going to.
Also a little bit more about me. I will turn 57 on Thursday and have been married to my soulmate for coming up on 4 years. We have actually been together for 12 years but could not legally marry here until 2013. I have 1 son age 25 from a previous marriage and my wife has 2 daughters ages 15 and 19. We also have 2 dachshunds that we adore. I am not the faster reader ( I average about 6 books a month) mostly because of not having enough time in the day. 8-)
How many books do most of you read a month? It will help us in planning out game strategy I'm sure though I defer to Tina and Rachel on that since I have not played UNO before.

And the problem with not enough time, that's something I experience every day!
I will turn 34 in May, I'm a civil engineer and I work as a design engineer 7AM-4PM Monday to Friday.
I usually read 10-12 books per month, depending on my work load.

I felt I should add some more. :)
I'm 24 years old, and I used to be a vet student, but I've been on a break from studies for a little over 2 years now. So now I'm living with my family, that's my mum, dad and my sister and our dog Demi, but I hope to get back to studying in the not too distant future.
I'll read almost everything, but my favourites are fantasy, urban fantasy, science fiction and post-apocalyptic and dystopic fiction. I'm not too keen on romance, ya and crime, especially nordic noir. It's just too noir, to be honest.

Most of you are about 7 hours ahead of me so I may be playing catch up a bit so bear with me.
I work ful..."
If i am not busy i can read 25 or more it depends on length and format. I can be both listening to an audio (when out) and reading a book (when in) which makes it harder for me to predict now what i will be reading in February but easier for me to fit something in.
I have read 34 so far this month but some very short ones and I am going to visit my grandchildren in Belgium at the end of February - childcare for the school holidays so will read a bit less then.

We really are diverse team, with geographical position and age. it should make things interesting.
I'm 35 years old. Married. Have one 3-year-old boy. My profession is UI software engineer (I make the user interface of web applications), but I stopped working when I got pregnant and somehow always something pops up that delays me to start working again. Right now we are moving to another apartment, so I am in charge of supervising the repairs, painting, etc.
As for how many books I read per month, somewhere between 10-15 depending on my free time and page count

I hope you all give Harry a try during the challenge. The audiobooks are fantastic and I highly recommend them

I'm Rachael and I'm your captain. This is my third uno challenge and I was captain last year.
I'm from the Midlands of the UK, I'm a member of a couple of book clubs and I've not read Harry Dresden either.
How would you like the challenge to be organised? In my first year we selected cards and filled the spreadsheet prior to reading the books, last year the group read books and I slotted them into the cards after. Happy to do either.

I'm sorry to hear you're not well:( I hope you feel better soon! If you need me or Caly to help you with the challenge, let us know. It's what we're here for:)
I hope it's ok that we started without you and set up the first posts. We were so excited to start, we just couldn't wait:)
There are advantages with both ways to organize this, I can do both.

As for organisation, I can do both, whatever the rest of the team prefers.

I've also never read Harry Dresden. My taste generally runs to mystery but I've been trying to branch out the last couple of years.
I'm from Calgary in Alberta, Canada and I'm impressed we have a pretty global team here. I'm 42, married with no kids, just cats. I like to knit and hike.
