Alexa

I'm a Real Estate agent...it's my busy time, but I'm an 'empty nester' so I still have time to read quite a lot. I read mostly romance related books...but love just about anything except non-fiction...there are a few exceptions.

Also loving the team combo and name!
I work as a secretary for a child welfare agency. I have one 15 year old son who will be turning 16 in May this year. I love reading, music, TV show marathons, my cat, am a Christian and a moderator in Admin staff at Christian forums for several years. I love walking, website design, and have ran my website The Paperback stash for about 10 years now. My favorite genres are Urban Fantasy, mysteries, horror, dramas and I love everything Superman or Universal Monsters.
Name of bookshelf: team-towers-5

I love reading and try to read more out of my comfort zone. My favourite genres are fantasy and mysteries. My least favourites are non-fiction and horror.
I'm currently reading The Well of Ascension. A shame I won't be able to use this book for this challenge. It has got many pages!
My shelf for this: tower

I'm your co-captain Mary but I'm hoping that means I just need to fill in if Alexa is out of town or something. I captained a round once before. A nasty player sending me a barrage of messages kind of ruined captaining for me.
I'm 47, single mom of a 19 yr old daughter and a 2 yr old Bulloxer (see my avatar if you want to know what a Bulloxer is: Boxer/bull dog mix). I'm currently finishing my BS in Business in Administration. I'll be done in July. That might cut into my leisure reading time a bit but might also give me some school books to count for this. So right now I mostly do audio books. Usually urban fantasy, romantic suspense, non-fiction and almost anything paranormal. I don't usually do straight out horror or Christian fiction or chick-lit. I only read the occasional YA book.
Oh and I'm in Massachusetts on EST.

I don't know how to create a shelf without putting a book onto it, but from now on I'll only use the shelf for finished books.

My heart is going to melt a little bit every time I see that dog avatar - so cute
For the bookshelf to create a new shelf without adding a book, you go to "my books", edit on the left hand side where it says "bookshelves" in small grey letters, and then you can add a shelf at the top.

This is the first time I joined the tower challenge. Have any of you played it before?

I've played every round. They are good for encouraging me to read instead of watch TV or play on the computer.
I really hope they don't go insane with the mini-challenges for points this time. There were a couple of rounds where I ended up getting a bunch of library books to fit for challenges to get extra points instead of reading the books I really wanted to read from my own list. Don't get me wrong. I like some mini-challenges. Just hoping they don't go crazy with them.
I'm also not likely to do the BOM.

Nice that there will be mini-challenges! I was already wondering if we would get some tasks or if we just had to read what we wanted.
I understand what you mean! Sometimes challenges get in the way of what you want to read right now.
I'm not sure if I'll do the BOM. Depends on the books.
Erin, I did play wobble. That was my first team challenge. It was so much fun!! That is why I joined this challenge :) I'm looking forward to the start of the challenge too.

I am sort or all over the place with what I read but I'm not really into thriller/suspense stuff.
I'm pretty excited about this challenge :)

There are tasks and categories - however, you read what you want and bank the books to see if they fit later categories/tasks. That turns out fun.

I absolutely LOVED wobble!! Especially, the Olympics part. I love challenges but I need to be careful sometimes because I start reading things I wasnt interested in and forget to read "just for fun".
I can't wait to start this challenge! I think we are going to have lots of fun!
One last thing... My kindle doesnt automatically put in apostrophes and I tend to just leave them because I type so fast. So, I hope my typing doesnt annoy anyone...I promise I actually like all apostrophes, commas and puncuation! Lol
Here is my shelf: Tower Teams V

Anyways, I'm 26 and live in the DC area. I do rotating shift work so I may be checking in at odd times depending on what shift I'm working. I like reading just about every genre, but have been pretty obsessed with urban fantasy lately.
Happy to be reading with all of you and I love that we ended up with Darth Vader as our name :)

Mary, I'm so excited that you are my co-captain! Hopefully we will make this a much better experience. I'm pretty laid back and I'm not planning on going out of town anytime soon, I just started my job a few months ago and I don't get vacation until next year :(
I'm going to try and check in every night with our group on my computer, and I'll check in on my phone more often than that.
Last little captain note, thank you to everyone that has already posted your thread! If you haven't done so, please post this week with your thread link. I plan on updating one of the reserved threads with everyone's shelves once I get home tonight or tomorrow.

lol Victoria, I think most of us have that problem. I told me self also not to sign up for a new challenge, and yet here I am! :D Challenges are just too tempting!

I have only been doing team challenges like this and Bookshelf Bingo in the SOS group since I went back to school. Basically ones that aren't too demanding. Bookshelf Bingo is awesome for getting me to knock out multiple books in a couple of different series. I have a tendency to have too many series going and then have to reread to remind myself what happened-which makes me prolong finishing a series even longer.
I like TT because it just encourages me to read. Not that I ever go long periods without reading but this makes me boost it up.

Whenever I tell people my kids ages I always joke that I'm due to get pregnant again in another 8 years...well, 5 now. ;) Unfortunately, I would be 47 so that might be a BAD idea! Lol Baby fever gets me every time. I actually like them being spread out. They have all gotten their own time. If that makes sense. No sharing, really. Only my oldest son is in the Navy stationed in Japan so they will need to work harder to have a relationship when older.

I'm Halli, 27 from SC. I have 2 cats & a husband of 1 year on 4/30 :)
My first challenge ever was WOBBLE & I've been obsessed ever since! Can't wait to try out Tower Teams!!
Tower Teams Shelf

i'm from the far south chicagoland suburbs...married with two furbabies...lily, our 10-year-old pitbull, and callie, our 3-year-old callico/tortoise/tiger-stripped kitty.
my shelf for this challenge is...c-tower-team-vader
@Lusie...i love harry dresden! i've listened to the first five on audio and enjoyed each one! james marsters (spike from buffy the vampire slayer) does an amazing job narrating!

I've never read the Dresden files, but I may have to now that I've heard such good things about it.
As a conversation starter, what is everyone's favorite book they've read that many haven't heard of or read? I think mine is probably

Big Numbers - his entire austin carr series is hilarious mysteries (there are 4)
Murder on the First Day of Christmas - excellent mystery novel (there are 2) by a mother, who died and then her daughter took over. So funny
Drawing Blood - good serious vamp book
Love, Death and Tea - hilarious comedy with zombies, vamps and paranormal creatures
Destruction - unique urban fantasy with magic
Children Of Chaos - very dark drama
Still Waters - very underrated ya novel that came out 2 years ago, publishing house and not independent. Was a debut. The writing is incredible

Alexa, that book sounds good. I added it to my tbr.
I don't know any of those book you listed, Erin. I have added a few of them to my tbr.
I'll have to think about which good but unknown books I've read. All that comes to my mind at the moment is: In the Land of Tea and Ravens. It is a fantasy book It's a beautiful and mysterious story.

If you like magic and paranormal urban fantasy stuff then you will likely like the Dresden Files books. They are written by a man so there isn't much of a romance aspect like a lot of the UF by women.
