The therapist ensures that the woman is relaxed and taking everything nice and slow since she does not value herself and the therapist tells her that she has achieved so much that she should consider herself a catch too as she is freaking out on a cruise vacation this guy has taken her - but unknown to her, her client is going out with her ex husband - it is more on the lines of Romance since it starts off with perspective of the self doubting woman and it keeps shifting between two women.
Definitely an urban setting and I read it around 2012 - it was romantic and funny at times - i thought it might be cecilia ahern but couldn't find any through her books
