Logan (loganturner) | 1599 comments Marie - we can still count your book read yesterday.

Since it's the first week and we got our spins early, any books read on the 12th will count for this challenge. We got an extra day!

message 52: by Logan (last edited Jul 13, 2014 05:30PM) (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1599 comments Okay, so here's where we are right now:

H - Logan - Highlander series & "history" shelf
I - Nay Nay - Into the Deep
S - Stephanie - character Samantha
T - Stephanie - Trouble in Texas
O - Karen - Oscar Wilde
R - Nay Nay - Richard Mabry
Y - Marie - Rick Yancey

I've got a couple of possibilities for I and Y. Marie, if you don't want to read Monstrumologist, let us know.

message 55: by Marie (new)

Marie | 287 comments Book:The Horse and His Boy by C.S.Lewis
Date read:13/7/14
Letters:H or S(?)
Genre points:no

I will read The Monstrumologist by the end of the week, so no worries.

message 56: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1599 comments Per Karen, C.S. Lewis can't be used for S. Only first and last initials.

But we can still use it for H! Any letters we finish after the first spell it out nets us 10 more points. So even if someone has already claimed a letter, post anything that could be counted to this thread!

❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Daryl Dixonღ♥ღ | 2613 comments after i finish my book i'm gonna read Flirting with Texas which can be used for 'S' with the characters last name (Jenna Jay Scroggs)

message 62: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1599 comments I've created a on Google Drive. If there are better ways to organize it, I'm open to suggestions.

I listed books by title, and in parentheses how it qualifies (if not obvious by title). I used italics for books that qualify for genre points.

I'll put a link in message 7 so it's easy to find the spreadsheet when you want to look at it or edit it.

message 63: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1599 comments I also updated Message 7 with the books finished and posted up to here. Please let me know if I missed something!

Also, make sure you add the books you finish to your wheel-a-thon shelf!

❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Daryl Dixonღ♥ღ | 2613 comments I'm gonna start reading Quinn which can be used for 'R' with the Authors name or 'O' with the character. do you know if we can spell out our word more then 2 times?

message 69: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1599 comments Yes, we can spell the word any number of times, but the complete word must be filled out before getting points for additional letters.

So we can spell HISTORY three times, but if we have 4 R books, we can only claim those 10 points after we have 3 of all the other letters.

message 70: by NayNay (new)

NayNay Hello Ladies,

It was my father, we have been battling a long time health issue....thanks for the concern though.

message 73: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1599 comments I'm really sorry to hear that.

message 74: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1599 comments I've updated Post 7 with books completed to here.

I've updated the spreadsheet to show books I know are in progress. When Stephanie, Karen, and Marie finish their books we'll be ready for our third spelling! Some teams are already well into their third spellings, so we are in good shape, but we can still do more. :)

I also reformatted the spreadsheet, so hopefully it's a little easier to follow.

message 80: by NayNay (new)

NayNay I just finished a book....I have a 'Y' book I could start.

p.s. not sure about this one, it has only 170pp, and I'm not sure if there's a page number requirement. :D

Sorry I'm a bit behind in posting. Had to actually do some work -damn you real life.

message 83: by Logan (last edited Jul 17, 2014 04:03PM) (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1599 comments No problem, Marie! Thanks for the update.

Also, I think we can only claim genre points once anyway.

And the page minimum is 160 so you're good!

message 84: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1599 comments Second spelling is complete!

By my count, with Marie's completed books, and the books that the rest of is are currently reading, that leaves only I left to fill for our 3rd spelling.

Then we can go on to claim points for a 4th round. Awesome!

Logan (loganturner) | 1599 comments Important Reminder

We have until 11am Australia EST Sunday to post our points. This is 8pm CDT Saturday for me here in Chicago, which is 29 hours from now.

I will keep my eye on this thread for any last minute books, but in order to make sure I have enough time to verify any last minute books and get the post copied over to the thread, any books finished and posted to this thread after 7:30pm US CDT/10:30am AU EST may not be counted.

In short, please try to finish your books and post to this thread 30 minutes before the deadline. Happy reading!

message 90: by Logan (last edited Jul 18, 2014 06:56PM) (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1599 comments That's great Karen! Yes, we can use those for extra points! Make sure you put them on your read shelf in addition to your Wheelathon shelf and I'll assign them a spot.

Right now The Picture of Dorian Gray isn't marked as "read" which means we can't use it as the Mods have to be able to verify the date you read it. If you're not sure how to tag it with the date, let me know and I can help!
