I wasn't sure how busy my RL would be for first two weeks and didn't want to put my team behind because I couldn't read as much as I signed up for.
I plan to sign up as backup once when I'm sure where I stand.

You can't use that sign up? You just need to fill info in it.
If it isn't working, just go to questions thread and say you can't fill it up. Questions: how many books you read per month, name of the shelf, continent (time zone), if you want to be captain/cocaptain and if you want to be in chatty team. I don't think you have much choice with last one since there aren't that many people to shuffle arund
