Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Middlesex, The Stand and Interpreter of Maladies are all amazing. Guns Germs and Steel is my brothers favorite book. I just DNF'd Oscar Wao- will be interesting to see your thoughts if you read it .

Marina H | 1312 comments I loved A Little Life. It's not an easy book to read and I had to put it away a few times because it was really emotionally draining but I mean that in a good way. It's devastating but also beautiful. At some point I'm going to read it again, so it's definitely a book I would recommend.

Pam (bluegrasspam) | 3765 comments Great list! I've read 10 of your selections and liked all of them, especially The Stand, GoT, Shadow of the Wind, and The Storied Life... Your list includes a lot of the same authors and books that are sitting on my shelves! My goal is also to read books I own. One I really want to read is Smoke. Good luck and enjoy!

Veronica (ronireads13) | 816 comments Welcome! I love your list although I have only read one of them. I am imterested in quite a few of them, particularly The Man in the High Castle, Steamger in a Strange Land, The Illiad, and The Secret History. Middlesex was a great read, I highly recommend it. I Good luck with your challenge!

Jovana (jfreads) I really enjoyed Portnoy's Complaint, The Neverending Story, Song of Solomon, Game of Thrones (though I gave up on the series on book 3), and The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao.

Good luck next year!

Its still sitting on my kitchen table. I'd like to finish it at some point, it just wasn't the right book at the moment. I was disappointed :-(

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments I loved both Middlesex and The Virgin Suicides, if that helps! 😁

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I loved Burial Rites, The Road, The Shadow of the Wind and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. I liked The Man in the High Castle, but found the end too rushed. John Dies at the End is completely mind-f**ked, but if you like this style (like The Eye of the Moon), you'll love it.

Have you read something else by ó? I've had The Blue Fox on my list since I visited Iceland last year but haven't got around to it yet!

I also have The Library at Mount Char, Station Eleven, The Final Empire, We Need to Talk About Kevin, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, Trainspotting and Middlesex on my radar for next year!
