Chapter 1 I can’t help but think she’s lucky. Her parents care about her. Though I can see that now I understand a teen doesn’t see it that way a lot of the time. Also doesn’t change the fact she seems depressed and needs help.
Wonder how this switching bodies thing will work.

I’m done. After the spoiler I mentioned, the ending isn’t a surprise. But it’s really sad. 3 stars.

So I'm 3 books behind. I just started reading Haunted. I don't own all the books, so i will read what I can, when I can. (I'm keeping my eyes open at used bookstores, libraries...etc.)
I do own many, many of the Fear Street books, just not all the ones you guys have picked for this challenge.

Hope you enjoy the ones you do get to! I've just been buying them off Amazon as they get picked actually lol. Sometimes getting them used but I don't mind used books as long as I can still read them.
I'm currently reading hoping to finish Switched tonight. I finished part 2

(view spoiler) I guess i'll go with around 3-3.5 stars too. I enjoyed reading it but that isn't what I expected going into it at all. It's so sad
Does yours talk about a cabin in the back? Mine does but there wasn’t a cabin, it was a wall in mine.

No mine says
"Nicole always thought her friend Lucy's life was so much better than hers. She had cooler parents, a cuter boyfriend...next to her, Nicole felt like a loser. So when Lucy asked if she wanted to switch bodies, Nicole thought it sounded like a fun idea. Good for a laugh.
She didn't realize the switch would actually work. Or that Lucy's life might not be so sweet after all. Turns out, Lucy's got a few issues. And she's about to get her revenge-using Nicole's body!"
So yeah....while it doesn't mention a cabin I was still expecting a totally different book.

I couldn't remember it when I started, but the more I read, the more of the book came back, so the twist at the end wasn't that shocking. I kind of had a vague idea about it from a far off memory. I still like the story, and think these cheesy teen books from the 80s/90s are great guilty pleasure reads. (I don't feel guilty, but you know what I mean.)
The ending didn't bother me, but I can see why it would upset some people. Oh and the twist was just kind of meh in my opinion. It was cool in theory, but I feel it could have been handled or explained better. What can you expect in under 200 pages?
Book is very heavy in rape culture. Not something I remember from my preteen/teen years.
In my opinion I did not care for the main character being teased for being "too skinny" I never saw the point of that being mentioned, and continually mentioned for that matter.
That same goes for her curly hair. Saying she needs to fix it or cut it. It seems that curly = bad, straight = good. (The cover shows a girl with really tame waves, barely curly. hehe)
These are little things, but to someone they might be big.

what old design show?

lol I can imagine that wouldn't always end well

Definitely. Even though it isn't what I was expecting either I did enjoy it, and by enjoyed mean the same thing. I felt so sad for her. I settled on 3.5 stars as I really did like it and got absorbed into the story even when it was predictable.

I am unsure I'm a fan of unreliable narrators. (You guys know the person I mean!) but it was interesting to say the least.
Josie is easy to hate, but part of me thinks she had PTSD. I'm sure she is selfish, too, but I don't 100% hate her like other reviewers do.

Edit: I got the free trial to Scribd (unlimited access to ebooks, audiobooks...etc) and they have Switched and a bunch of other R L Stine books if anyone is interested. Also it cost $8.99 a month after the trial.
Edit 2: Can someone post a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ link to all the books in the first post, because I can't find some of them? Thank you.

Halloween Party"
Thanks! Any idea what we will read after June? I found the books linked above. I also just finished Switched. So I'm ready for April's read!!
(view spoiler)
Do you want to pick July’s Leigha? It doesn’t have to be from that list. Just 1 we haven’t read yet. And has to be a fear street book.

I would love to pick July's book! Let me go over the books in the series and get back with you on it. :)

Delete if this isn't allowed... but I thought this might help some of you.
Have you heard of Paperbackswap.com? It's a book trading website. You can swap books you no longer want. I've found a bunch of original covers of books on that site. If you have nothing to swap, you can buy credits in order to buy the books available on the website.
You put up books you don't want and if someone requests it, you ship it to them (You pay the shipping fee) and then you get a credit. You then can use that credit toward a book. So depending on shipping costs where you live, each book is about $3/4.
You can also make a wishlist and when someone puts on a book you want, and you're first in line, you can get it.
Credits are under $4 each, so you are getting a book for under $4 dollars. Not bad. (If you're patient, you can get some good deals on there.)
Audiobooks cost 2 credits.
when do y'all want to start Lights Out? I can start anytime. I don't have a lot going on this month, I mean in April.

We might as well start now, unless someone isn't caught up? Anyone?
have any of y'all read the new fear street books?
/series/6028...
well it says new but they were published in the 90's as well lol.
then there is the return to fear street:
/series/2226...
you may now kill the bride sounds decent.
the fear street relaunch:
/series/1498...
I did win a ARC of the dead boyfriend from goodreads. it was bat shit crazy, and I didn't think it was much like the original series.
I'm going to a psychic faire tomorrow in a few towns over and they have a bookstore. I may see if they have some of these. no, we don't have a bookstore in my town.
