1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
2b ~ Post your team's stats on the Captain's Log prior to requesting a stamp
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game

Does anyone want to be Captain, if not I'm always here, so no bother. But if you want it, its yours.
Anyone got any names ~ the quirkier the better IMO.

A play on series and we're going to kill it!
Not really interested in doing Captain duty

For some reason I’m not getting post notifications for this discussion.
I don’t mind being captain but I will have a few weekends in November and December that I will be unavailable.

I am going to read

It is #44 on the Best of YA/Fantasy list and #4 in the Finishing School series, which completes the series.

Ok, I'll send you the dates ahead of time when I'm unavailable. Christmas craft fair markets are a necessary evil for me. Sorry I don't do major post edits with hyper links on my phone.

I think I'll be reading

Book: In Darkness Transformed by Alexis Morgan

I was pleasantly surprised to see another installment/spin-off in the Paladin series.
I always wondered about people, not knowing they were not strictly human, discovering they could come back to life after dying. With little to no knowledge of their heritage how would they react?
Another aspect is the "Others" or Kalith crossing the barrier and trying to settle down on Earth and fly under the radar. I admit that their culture, or information about it, was pretty scarse in previous books so it was a nice peek into their mind, motivations and family.
All in all, it was a bit too short but a good start to expand on the world of the Paladins.

Book: The Darkest Hour
Author: Maya Banks
Rating: 4 stars
Date Read: 9/18/18

How it Fits: #12 on the Military list
Review: A year after his wife's death in a plane crash in South America Ethan is still suffering when he receives a packet of photos and documents purporting she is alive. Ethan's family runs a special ops group, KGI, and they are the perfect group to determine if it's a hoax or real and then to rescue her. But rescuing Rachel is not the end. Ethan and Rachel's marriage was at a low point before she left home and her spotty memory means she doesn't remember that. Can it be salvaged when she does? And Rachel is still a target. Lots of action and angst. Good beginning to a series.

Book: The Darkest Hour by Maya Banks
Rating: 3 Stars
Finished: 18.09.18
Review: I did like this book, but it did miss something for me to give it 5 stars. Its a romance book where the main character finds out he's wife who was dead, is not actually dead. He goes and saves her. She has hard time getting over the drama being kidnapped for a year and also there are people who want her dead. I did like the book enough to read rest of the series.

No worries Sandra, this week I’ve been reading anything but my Free Space book si I’m behind too.

Luckily for me 3 people shelved

Review:
This is about Bowen Knight, Leader of the Human Alliance, who was shot in the heart at the end of the last book and took a dive into the canal in Venice. His sister, Lily, got the BlackSea Clan to save him & their scientists are working on a way to fix his psychic shield chip embedded in this head, which had been failing, before the shooting.
Kaia Luna, BlackSea shifter, former scientist & now chef at the secret base is loved by all her clanmates & once Bowen wakes up and sees her smile he is done for. Both of them have traumatic pasts, but despite a few bumps in the road, they seem to be on the same wavelength.
The traitor/s are still out there, BlackSea clanmates are still going missing, and other problems also surface.
The BlackSea shifters have been very secretive to date but as this book was mostly set at one of their bases, we got an up close & personal look at how BlackSea operates, which is different to the Wolves & the Leopards. BlackSea is made up of lots of different water based shifters, from whales to octopi to dolphins.
Totally enjoyed and looking forward to the next one.

Review:
Bobby Baker & Belle Smith were childhood sweethearts, he was the golden boy football hero, straight A student, etc etc, she was the girl from the trailer park whose father beat her up & basically killed her mother. Bobby promised to love her forever, but after a couple of weeks at boot camp, he sent a Dear John letter via his parents. A week later having realised his mistake he sends another letter but she's gone.
Fifteen years later Annabelle Roberts, ATF agent walks into a briefing where Bobby, an ex-ops CIA agent is present. He hadn't ever stopped looking for Belle, and he knew as soon as he saw her, she was still his. Now he just has to convince her.
The premise is good, the characters were believable, the story went into some very dark places, but my god the angst. From both of them. We get alternating POV with this story, and honestly it couldn't have worked if we didn't have it.
At various stages, both of them were, full of anger, revenge, romance, guilt, and repeat, and repeat again.
So despite this being very well written it really just wasn't for me.
