Joanna Loves Reading (joannalovesreading) Hi all! Starting up the monthly discussions for December 2018 book-of-the-month suggestions. This discussion is for the CLASSICS CATEGORY.

Books that qualify for this category:
1. Must have a publication date 1969 or before. For newer books, please make your suggestion on the Modern Classic/Popular Reads thread.
2. Have not been previously ready by this group. Previously read books can be nominated in the Bookshelf Catchup thread. See the groups bookshelf for previously read book.
3. Be reasonably well-read to fit the "Everyone Has Read This but Me" claim.

Not a hard and fast rule, but please try to limit your nominations to one book per category. But please do second any that interest you! The number of seconds determine poll inclusion

Nominations end Midnight PDT October 19.

message 7: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Nominating again the book that almost won last month, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I actually *don't* like to read Christmas books.

Except Dickens and Dylan Thomas. If someone else nominates A Christmas Carol I'll likely second it. (A Child's Christmas in Wales is too short.)

Aww I have to second The Master and Margarita too. This seems like a good group to read that with :)

Marcos Kopschitz | 1766 comments I like to have a more broader view in literature, so I like to support non-English language nominations (English being predominant here. :-)

So, I second The Brothers Karamazov.
