Paula Cappa | 66 comments Night Sea Journey, A Tale of the Supernatural by Paula Cappa From The Eric Hoffer Book Awards, Night Sea Journey was a Finalist for the grand prize and also placed in Commercial Fiction, gleaning two awards. Here is their review posted in US Review of Books:

"Night Sea Journey, Paula Cappa, Crispin Books of Chickhollow Books - This romantic fantasy is propelled by gorgeous language and imagery. In the gothic world of this novel, dreams bleed into reality, as protagonists Kip Livingston, a painter, and Raymond Kera and Father Garcia, two Roman Catholic priests are drawn into a clash between the angels and demons of Hebrew mythology. Each of these characters has visions—either nightmarish or heavenly—which seem to graft themselves into their waking lives. The grime of inner city Chicago, the tranquility of the Rhode Island coastline, and the depths of a phantasmagoric ocean are the stages for this conflict, which is as much about finding inner forgiveness as it is about finding outward peace."

Shirley Bourrage | 12 comments Shirley Bourrage Hi! I am new to goodreads and to this thread. I am a retired school teacher from Mississippi. I have written a suspense novella and would love for anyone to review it.

"The Ebola Flight" is a suspenseful action thriller novella. I am looking for about 20 people who promise to post an honest review of this book on Amazon or goodreads.

At 35,000 feet in the air, the Ebola virus mutates and becomes an airborne strain which causes mayhem and tragedy during an international flight over the Atlantic Ocean.
As the body count mounts, will there be any survivors when the plane lands? Is this a natural mutation of the Ebola virus or is it something more sinister? Take a quick ride while reading this action-packed thriller aboard a claustrophobic plane with narrow seats, sick passengers, and recirculating air.

Please message me if you are interested. Thanks!

Michael Burton | 3 comments Hello Everyone,

My name is Michael Burton and I am the author of the legal thriller series, Croker Diaries. I just released my third book, a standalone, entitled Unforeseen Justice.

Unforeseen Justice by Michael Burton

Amazon:

...

Attorney Mark Baxter woke up with a splitting headache trying to remember what happened the night before. His drinking had gotten to the point that he was suffering blackouts every night. The only thing he could recall were images of a horrific reoccurring nightmare of a small girl being raped by Mark's father, but does this have any significance?

Later that morning, Mark learns an ex-girlfriend has been murdered and he is the number one suspect.

As the investigation heats up, a second girlfriend is found murdered and Mark has no recollection what happened the night before. The evidence begins to mount against Mark and he is arrested for the murder of both women. He is starting to believe he may have committed both murders. Now faced with the possibility of the death penalty and a very aggressive district attorney, Mark hires his ex-commander from the Air Force as his attorney to save his life. Together they have to put on a defense that only the most skilled attorneys can do, but is it enough?

Unforeseen Justice takes the reader through the surprising twists and turns of trial and an ending you won’t see coming.

I am certain you will enjoy it.

Cheers,

Michael Burton

Connie | 5 comments Please add my book to your "to read" lists.

"The Troubles" is a high-concept suspense novel that views the conflict in Northern Ireland through the prism of American involvement. This sweeping, multi-generational tale gives witness to the delicate and dangerous layers inside an ever-unfolding world.

Jessica Wyeth is no longer a fugitive hiding under assumed identities. Through sheer grit, she has reclaimed her life only to discover what she fought for was an illusion. She is not the child of the picture-perfect New England family, but an unwanted castaway. Her frail and reclusive aunt died without exposing the secret that she was Jessica’s mother. Jessica travels to Ireland—her mother’s home—to learn why.

When Jessica rides in a world-class steeplechase, she is unwittingly used as an accomplice in a devastating bombing in an English shopping mall. The group behind the bombing is the Charity, a generations old support network of the IRA. Michael Conant, reluctant heir to the Charity and Jessica’s lover, must choose his allegiance to his violent family legacy or the woman he loves. Meanwhile, Jessica’s fight for her life leads her to uncover her mother’s secrets and the divided soul of the Irelands.

E.A. Briginshaw | 29 comments With Father's Day coming on Sunday June 21st, I thought I'd run a Kindle Countdown deal all this week on "The Legacy" since the book deals with the relationship between a father and his sons.

Synopsis:
Life is pretty good for the Baxter boys. Eric Baxter is a recent college graduate starting his career in financial planning. His younger brother Chip is a promising athlete heading off to compete at the Olympic Games in Brazil. And their father, Brian, has accumulated a tidy sum of money over his life.

As Eric prepares to start managing his father’s money, he learns that his father’s most important objective is to leave a legacy. But when Eric and his brother are kidnapped along with several other people while on a tour in Brazil, the legacy is in jeopardy.

Will the hostages be rescued before the final deadline is reached? Will Brian go against the recommendations of the FBI and the Brazilian police and pay the ransom? Their fate is determined in “The Legacy.

Countdown Deal:
The book is on sale now for $0.99 until Wednesday June 17th when the price goes to $1.99 until Father's Day, when it returns to the original price of $3.50.

Restrictions:
My apologies to my Canadian fans as Amazon has informed me that the sale price will only appear for those visiting Amazon.com from the US. Apparently, they detect the IP address of those visiting the site and hide the fact that the book is on sale for those of us from Canada. (I'm not a happy camper!)

Hello Everyone,

My new standalone book in the Kate Stanton Hollywood Mystery series, THE CROSSING AT BLAISDELL PARK, is free on Amazon from June 22 - 25, 2015. The Kate Stanton Hollywood Mystery series is described as the perfect mystery reader Cosmo - one part 'I-didn't-see-that-coming whodunit with a double shot of Hollywood glam'. I hope you'll download THE CROSSING during this limited time offer. Here's a bit more about the book:

Thanks to the huge success of the year’s blockbuster civil war epic, The Crossing at Blaisdell Park, there’s been a resurgence of interest in the former sixties musical duo, the Paisleys, and its only surviving member, Kate Stanton, who had recorded an interactive version of the duo’s first hit single for the movie. With an initial worldwide gross of just under a billion dollars and a sequel already in production, it looks like the The Crossing as it’s been dubbed by the press is going to go down in history as one of Hollywood’s most successful film franchises until tragedy strikes, that is. Just as Kate is about to unveil the Paisleys long-awaited star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a stolen cargo van jumps the curb a few feet from where everyone is gathered, killing a woman dressed as Charlotte Valcour, the heroine in The Crossing. The tragedy follows a series of disastrous events which have overshadowed shooting of the sequel, fueling rumors that the shoot is being haunted by the ghost of the movie’s dead heroine. Things become even more complicated when the director of the movie suddenly disappears during shooting of a pivotal battle scene. Kate soon realizes that Charlotte’s ghost may not be the only thing they need to contend with as she finds herself dodging a killer intent on exposing the truth behind The Crossing at Blaisdell Park.

Here's a review from Amazon as a taster

7 of 7 people found the following review helpful
5.0 out of 5 stars Someone Out There 21 May 2015 By ElaineG TOP 100 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle EditionWhen successful divorce lawyer Laura Maxwell suffers a couple of strange, seemingly unconnected accidents she starts to believe that someone is out to kill her. Who could it be? She is a success at her job and is bound to have ruffled more than a few feathers there over the years, but enough for someone to try and kill her? There are a number of suspects in this page turner of a tense psychological thriller which I found quite hard to put down.

I was thoroughly enjoying this book and had it pegged as a solid four star read until about two thirds of the way through when I hit the “OMG moment which ramped it all the way up to five stars. I love it when you get a good jaw dropping moment that opens up a whole avenue of possibilities that you had never even considered before.

I really liked Laura. She is successful, shows integrity and compassion. She is just an all round nice person who I could really get behind. I desperately wanted to know more about her and what was going to happen to her.

This is a book stuffed with tension, drama, betrayals, obsession and revenge which moves at a really good pace. Despite the darkness of the story, it is extremely easy to read with the words just jumping off the page at you. I found it so hard to put down, the kindle went everywhere with me and I really do mean “everywhere. Thanks to the publisher for the review copy.

Sean McCann | 3 comments Hi everyone,

If anyone is looking for a summer holiday read and would like to support one of the little guys, and read something different, I have just published my novel The Judge of the Dead.

The story is told by six different first-person narrators, so the reader isn't fed their protagonist on a plate on page 1; some work needs to be done to work out who to get behind. Each narrator is going to be a bit different in terms of style. Using 'look inside' functionality will perhaps give access no further than chapter 1, narrated by Honeydew, an escort girl. This character is a bit noir, according to my understanding of that genre, and the style not representative of the book as a whole. Other narrators may give more of a (London) true crime feel, or espionage-cum-technothriller, while some chapters' prose will be more literary.

The blurb:
‘A fatal legal misunderstanding leads to human embryos being destroyed. The headlines scream: “Rhadamanthus The Judge of the Dead. Devastated donor Afro Eccleston smells a rat and resolves to bring down the judge. The security services are onto her but Lucky Jim Ridgewell has an Achilles heel: escort girl Honeydew, linked to East London organised crime. Online auction fraudster Magnus Gilzean has been grassed up, but there is a curious observer in court. If Afro can circle the connections she will set off a carousel of revenge only one can win…

Below links, respectively: product page on CreateSpace eStore; on Amazon UK; on Amazon dotcom; my Author Central page on Amazon; and landing page for my blog (which gives more detail about the book, and the process from the decision to self-publish through to release, which will hopefully be of some use as a resource for anyone who wants to go down the same route at some point).

My blog has a free short story available (on the 'FreeStuff' tab): a kind of modern day P G Wodehouse style story set in a police station in Newport, Wales. It was long-listed for the Fish Prize 2012/13. I have put this out for free to give potential readers some sort of idea of my writing style, and hopefully to provide a degree of assurance that I can actually write to a standard worth paying money for.

cheers

Sean

How it works: Books are judged by the blurb and first three chapters. You can nominate up to three books at a time to be published. If you choose to nominate our book and if it is selected by Amazon you will receive a FREE PRE-RELEASE COPY a week before publication.

The book is about a haunted bridge, a crying woman, and a missing baby. It looks as if Rae Harris has thrown her baby over the bridge in a fit of despair, but she claims it was stolen...by a vengeful spirit! Or did a flesh and blood person take the baby?

Since it is not yet published I can't link to the image but you can view the cover on the Kindle Scout link.
