❓What are the first five things you'd want to do when leaving isolation?
1- visit with family and friends that live out of my state in NH (hug everyone!)
2- get my hair and nails done (I'm thinking pixie cut...)
3- take a vacation on a beach (I'm sure I'll be wanting to do this for a while yet.)
4- go out to eat where someone serves us and cleans up after us
5- I have so many things!! Is getting together with my friends too cliche? lol I'm also looking forward to getting my carpet cleaned and seeing a movie out of the house and so much more.
With that said, I have to also say that I'm doing pretty ok with being home. I miss plenty of things, especially people, but I'm able to keep in contact through several different forums now. I hope you are all doing well too and hopefully having some fun!
❓What is one thing you learned (how to do, about yourself, etc) while in isolation?
- I've learned that I'm really good at wasting time. lol I also learned some "new math".
❓Have you read any books while in isolation? Which was your favorite? Any recommendations?
- I actually hit a slump when I first started isolating and wasn't really reading anything, but I seem to be coming out of it now.
I really enjoyed The Forgotten Home Child for historical fiction fans. It has a similar feel to stories like Orphan Train and Before We Were Yours.
I laughed out loud at Lethal Bayou Beauty. If you want a little mystery and some good humor, I'd recommend the Miss Fortune series.
I also read The Terrible Two with my 10-year old grandson. It was a cute book and a lot of fun to read together. Great for his age group.
❓What have you been doing to take up your time? (Do you even have more time right now?? Or less?)
- I have been "homeschooling" my grandson. We seem to be in the swing of things now and have a good routine going. I had a lot of grand plans about finally finishing some of my crafts, catching up on reading and Netflix, and deep-cleaning my house, going through closets, etc, but I haven't really done any of that. Maybe I still will...
Hope you are all doing well!

I'm such a slow reader, I'm not sure I can read 8-10 books in a month.

You just need to read one book that fits a task in order to participate. The details are all in the first post, but here are the levels for you:
Level:
Staying in the neighborhood: 1-3 tasks
Seen around town: 4-7 tasks
Sight-seeing in my country: 8-10 tasks
Traveling the world: 11+ tasks

I’m definitely suffering from UNO withdrawal 😳, so I’m in! Have just started Gone for Good by Harlan Coben. Will it count if I started reading it before May 1 (which I have)?

You just need to read one book..."
Thank you for explaining this to me. I will look back at the directions and start planning now by looking through the books I have that I still need to read. I look through the notifications once a day to see what topics people are commenting on and I see a lot of different Team names there. I don't quite understand what those teams are for and if I should be on a team as well?

Do you think a bicycle could fit this catagory? It is a mode of transportation.

You just need ..."
The teams are for a big three month UNO challenge that we have every year. It just ended yesterday. There will probably still be some chatter in the team threads for a while, but then it will die down until next year.

Sure, a bicycle would work.

A few members requested more challenges since many of us around the world are currently staying home for a while and may have some time on our hands. This isn't a team challenge (sorry UNO fans!), but we can do some socially acceptable traveling through books. Here's your challenge, should you choose to break out of isolation and travel with us.
Book Rules:
✒︎ You may choose how many tasks you’d like to complete from just 1 to all of them.
✒︎ Each task can only be completed once and each book can only be used for 1 task, with the exception of the 'challenge within a challenge' tasks which have to be combined with another task.
✒︎ Books must be at least 150 pages long.
✒︎ Any book format may be used: physical, electronic, audio, unless the task specifies a format.
✒︎ For audio pages just use the first edition of the book that pops up when you do a search for the book.
✒︎ All books must be finished within the challenge month.
Level:
Staying in the neighborhood: 1-3 tasks
Seen around town: 4-7 tasks
Sight-seeing in my country: 8-10 tasks
