Redeployment

Picked this one because I heard it compared favorably with The Things They Carried, but for Iraq and Afghanistan. I love TTTC, hoping for good things here as well.

I put this on my "To Read" list after finding it on a list from The NewYorker (I think, it might have been another magazine/newspaper) a few weeks ago. I'm a pacifist by nature and religion, but I like to explore many sides of any issue I'm passionate about. This book sounded interesting and challenging.

Same here, I am much more inclined to read about the stories of those who fight than to look for the reasons why the fight was even necessary. Seems the human element is lost too often.
