Oh wow that sounds like deer w/ us over here in the US Sonya. Is that a big problem for you?

I'll be starting my last May review for RT today it's not a HQN I did however just put all my May HQN series to bed for them.

It's cold brrrr here this week too. I'm ready for Spring!!

Gail | 10 comments I put my library books and ebooks on my "currently reading" list here at Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ so I don't lose track of what I have available and can keep track of things, so here, it looks like I'm reading a bunch of books at once. But usually I have no more than two going at once, 1 ebook and one paper book. I read pretty fast so I don't need to read them at once.

I just got into the Night Stalkers series by M.L. Buchman, which is Excellent. (military romance) Just got book 2 in the series- I Own The Dawn- but I may peek at one of the others I have on my list...

Brrr! Cold is right! I have a high of -6F and a low of -15F, wind chill brings it to -35F. At least school was cancelled so I didn't have to leave the house today.

message 54: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo I'm reading a good book for penquin first reads that I have to review called girl underwater by claire kells. hopefully will finish it today if not tomorrow.

message 55: by Gail (new)

Gail | 10 comments Cold around here means anything in the 30sF. So it's only cold-ish. I decided to read The Truth About Jane Doe, by Linda Warren, but I do have some books picked out for other letters.

Here in the capital city, yes. They call Canberra the 'Bush Capital' because it's 70% bushland.
Which means you can expect to at least see hundreds of kangaroos every day, even if you don't always hit them!

I just read a review copy of the latest one. He does an amazing amount of research for his books.

I'm not a fan of summer either which is why I rarely complain about winter. I'm not a fan of polar winds though. I could do without the crazy wind chill temps.

Julia Justiss | 6 comments GWTW is one of my all-time favs, Annie. Started it one summer in high school and read continuously (you know, the days before work and and family and responsibility, when you **could** just do nothing but read if you wanted) until I finished. My eyes were so tired by then, I could hardly see in the distance! Then (disastrously) I somehow managed to pick it up at exam time in college. Tired of reading all the stuff we HAD to read, I just couldn't resist reading this favorite again. Love it!

message 67: by Sonya (new)

Sonya Heaney | 60 comments I've never read Gone With the Wind, but then it's not really on literature class reading lists in Australia... I should give it a go one day.

I'm also racing through Sylvia Day's Crossfire series, which is odd because it's not usually the type of book I'd read.

I did something similar during my final exams at university. The day before my biggest test I spent the whole afternoon reading Into the Wilderness (Wilderness, #1) by Sara Donati !

I'm reading it in bed every night for half an hour (my reading time).
Scarlett has married Frank Kennedy now because Rhett wouldn't give her the money for Tara's taxes...

Started Shadow Study (Soulfinders, #1) by Maria V. Snyder last night. :) :) :) I love the world Maria V. Snyder created and Yelena is an awesome Heroine. This is her 3rd trilogy based in this world and each one has gotten better and better and Shadow Study isn't disappointing.

Well, I'd never read it before this! The amazing thing is that as I'm reading the book, I keep seeing Vivien Leigh as Scarlett, and Clark Gable as Rhett...and also the stunning shots of Atlanta burning etc...It seems the film stayed very close to the book.

I really need to update my phone so I can do this. I know people say they wouldn't know what to do if they lost their phones but mine wouldn't matter much. I have one of those pay-as-you-go, no plan Tracfones. I never access the net with it and have nothing but a few phone numbers stored on it. I use it more as a clock when I'm out than as a phone. I wish I could get my Nook to work correctly. It is difficult to load new books on it, takes 3 times of downloading before it might show up and then it won't let me delete items. Sometimes, I end up with several copies of the same book because of the downloading issues and then I can't get rid of them. I've started buying more Kindle books but that doesn't always work for me either but that is strictly a personal issue. My Nook is a B&W which works great for reading but not playing. My Kindle Fire works great for books BUT also great for apps like Facebook and Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and countless game apps. I love playing games and can get lost in them for hours that I planned on reading. I do much better with a paperback in my hands. LOL

That being said, I just finished reading the latest Cynster novel by Stephanie Laurens, The Tempting of Thomas Carrick (Cynster, #22) by Stephanie Laurens The Tempting of Thomas Carrick and picked Reunited with the Major (Mills & Boon Historical) (Regency Brides of Convenience - Book 3) by Anne Herries Reunited with the Major (Mills & Boon Historical) by Anne Herries. Not only does it sound great but it helps me fill my reading challenge.

:) Hannah, you made my day. Finally! There is another reader who proudly reads a great Christmas/winter themed book, no matter what time of year it is. I love to grab one from my keeper shelf whenever I need a pick-me-up.

Anna, I can practically feel your excitement jump at me. There is no way I can personally read every series and this is one I missed the beginning of so, with a judicious eye at my TBR pile, I decided to skip it. You have me second guessing that decision.

I'm lucky that almost 100% of the books I read are early review copies. So often I LOVE books that get bad reviews, and dislike books everyone raves about. So at least when I read them there aren't too many yet who have reviewed, so my opinion isn't influenced by others.
