I have the Kindle version of Michelle Obama's book on preorder. It comes out on Amazon on November 13. I'm looking forward to it.

AG Reads (agreadstoo) I took advantage of Harlequin's Friday sale of buy 3 books, get 2 free. I picked up a couple of old favorites that I had borrowed from the library but wanted my own copy, plus 3 new-to-me ones. I've reread Marrying The Captain by Carla Kelly, and am now rereading Beast In The Tower (Harlequin Intrigue #966) by Julie Miller.

I also grabbed Hide the Child by Janice Kay Johnson, Forbidden Territory by Paula Graves, and Seeing is Believing by Lindsay McKenna.

AG Reads (agreadstoo) The Sheikh Surgeon's Proposal by Olivia Gates. This was a 5-star read, a pretty rare rating from me. I thought it was great all around, as a romance and as part of the Harlequin Medical line.

I really enjoyed that one as well. Olivia Gates has nice way of integrating medicine into her romances with a nice balance between technical language but not overshadowing the romance. If you liked the "Sheikh/surgeon" stroyline, you may enjoy some of Meredith Webber's "sheikh/surgeon" books including Claimed By The Desert Prince Desert King, Doctor Daddy Sheikh Surgeon Or if you like Medical HP/M&B, Amy Andrews is also quite entertaining.

AG Reads (agreadstoo) Any Paula Graves fans? I'm rereading Case File: Canyon Creek, Wyoming. In the book the H, Riley's, boss in Canyon Creek, Wyoming, is named Joe and he is married to Jane. This book references Joe and Jane's history and I'd like to know if they have their own book prior to the start of this series, which transitions from Wyoming to Alabama. A quick Google search didn't help me so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks!

message 323: by AG (new)

AG Reads (agreadstoo) Never mind, I found it. The book with Joe and Jane's story is Cowboy Alibi.

No problem! I got lucky.

I'm reading Julie Miller's newest book, Do-or-Die Bridesmaid. It's available from Harlequin's website now, other vendors February 1.

I can understand not wanting to wait for Julie Miller's newest. Members of my family love suspense and intrigue and I routinely get them for their enjoyment but historicals are my fav. However, I do select a couple danger-filled, heart-thumping stories each year just to feel comfortable talking about them if someone comes to me with a question. Julie's books consistently make my list of must-reads. ~ Kim

AG Reads (agreadstoo) Last night, I read Missing in Conard County by Rachel Lee. 5 stars, with a Hero who is an animal control officer and a heroine who is a K-9 officer. The animals were cute, especially Regis the squirrel.

AG Reads (agreadstoo) I've been helping my mom get ready to move closer to me, so my reading has been a mixed bag depending on how tired I am. I wanted to mention The Marshal's Wyoming Bride by Tatiana March, a Western historical. I loved the book and gave it 5 stars. The romance was a steady slow build from marriage of convenience to friends to love. Really well written and a satisfying story.

AG Reads (agreadstoo) Recently, I read A Nurse and a Pup to Heal Him, one from the Medical line that's available now on Harlequin.com and from other retailers in July. I really loved this one. It was a sweet romance with good, kind hearted characters and a cute therapy dog. (Sweet in overall feel/emotion, not "sweet" as in clean or closed door.)

Anita, Have I told you yet that I love that you share the link to your reviews so others can easily find them.

AG, LOL yep, you have to make sure you clarify when using the word sweet. Don't want to steer someone in the wrong direction. The Medicals usually don't go to much past the closed door but if that isn't your reading tastes it could be a shock. :)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 75 comments Thank you! I enjoy getting feedback on any review I post.

I never knew that "sweet" had more than one meaning. I always mean it to be "Sweet in overall feel/emotion" as I don't read much that is "clean or closed doors".

Often times if you see the word "sweet" in a title or subtitle of a book, that will mean it is clean. If it appears in a book blurb or in a review, then the intended meaning can get muddled. In those cases, I always read further reviews to clarify which it is. The subgenre classification can help, too (In Insprirational or Christian, cozy mysteries, and regency, sweet will always mean clean. Historical, contemporary, etc. you'll need to check further to see what other readers say.)

Up until 10 years ago when I started representing Harlequin here on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, I had no clue about things like using "sweet" to convey more than I found it sweet. I'm still learning all the little secrets. ~Kim
