Thank you for bringing it to our attention, Valerie 😊.

Looks like this was a change Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ made this year. The mods in this group have no authority or answers on why this was done. Here is an answer from Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Help, saying you can provide feedback on the update:
"From Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Support:
To share feedback directly with the reading challenges team, open Reading Challenges on apps or desktop, select Help & feedback and then Share feedback. Fill out a survey and add specific comments in the text box."

Can i just ask why the challenge widget no longer lets me see friends' challenges?"
That would be a question for Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Support as we moderators do not maintain a challenge widget for our group members. To reach Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Support, click on your profile picture in the top right corner, and scroll down to click Help.
I hope they have an easy solution to make the widget behave properly for you again. And Happy New Year to you, too!

Reads. What's the difference? Thanks!"
Great question, Tanu!
First off, Group Reads follow the monthly themes. The way it works is we have an open round for nominations, where members can suggest a book that fits the theme for that respective month, and then a voting round, where majority decides which book we will be reading collectively.
So for instance, the theme for February is Time, and after getting several suggestions, there is now a poll up with this selection to vote on.
Buddy Reads, on the other hand, are more a call-to-action from members to members. It provides members who are interested in reading a particular book, a place to discuss it jointly with other members who're interested in reading it at the same time.
Say for example, I want to read War and Peace in March. I can suggest it as a buddy read so that anyone who perhaps was planning on reading it, or is interested in it, can also read it and discuss it together.
In short, you could say the buddy reads are more "closed circle", as opposed to the group reads which is more "open audience". Both options are however, of course, always open to more participants, even if you haven't announced you'd be joining.
You can read more about Group Reads, here, and Buddy Reads, here.
I hope that answered your question 😊

Thank you Lisa!

Hello,
it's not exactly a question. :) Could one of the moderators please delete my personal goal topic?
/topic/show/...
I've moved the information to my personal corner. Most of it was double, and it felt redundant to upkeep both topics because of that.
Thank you. :)

We can remove it if you wish, but I didn't do that just yet. Instead, I thought I'd share my method of avoiding the redundancy. I post my goal in the Personal Challenge folder, and just link it to my Member's Corner thread. That way, I'm not doubling up on entries.
Also, sometimes mods or members will post encouragement or questions in the PC thread, and I, personally, don't want that in my MC thread, so it's worth it to me to keep both.
Let us know if you still want your PC thread to be deleted.

For the monthly challenges, what is this group's stance on reading a book cover to cover in the designated month? I know the ATY group allows you to count a book if there are over 100 pages left. I'd like to use Interview with the Vampire for the 'Name and title in Timewarp' prompt for the Feb Time Warp challenge. Is this acceptable given I'm 40% through it? Or do I have to begin and end all books within the month of Feb?

Tanu it is your Challenge to read the way you like. But yes you can count it for the readathon its at least 100 pages left. So your 60% should be fine, Happy Reading

Thank you for replying, TerryJane,
Ok, let’s leave it like this then. And then before the next year I will decide how better to set it up for myself next time. 🙂

Thank you for the feedback I will go look into it see if we can repost it.

Hi, Lara! I’m glad to hear you’re interested in joining an upcoming readathon. There is a host of information in the General Readathon Information thread. This thread provides guidance on the typical timeline for a readathon and the differences between individual and team events.
Our next readathon will be in May. It’s individual and the theme is continents/heritage but individual readathons always allow any books read to count. You do not have to read books related to the theme for individuals. There is also no formal sign up or participation process. I’ll post a thread for everyone to chat in around the time of the event and we just go from there!
Our next team readathon will be in July and the theme is decades. For this event, you will work together with your team to complete theme-based prompts with the books you read. I estimate sign-ups for this readathon will happen sometime in June. After you sign up, I’ll sort everyone into teams and then the prompts will be announced so we can start planning the books we want to read together with our teammates. These events take a lot of collaboration and teamwork but they are so rewarding and fun!
Please let me know if you have more questions. I’d be happy to answer them 🙂

I wanted to write a post in de librarian group, however Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ didn't allow me to enter. Is there a possibility that someone of the moderator group can forward this message? Thank you very much and I am sorry that it is not very related to the topic. I just really want to add this book to my challenge so that is why I am reaching out.

ML24, you need to join the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Librarians Group in order to post there. I copied the below information from their home page, but you'll need to go there to access their clickable links.
=====
Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Librarians are volunteers who help ensure the accuracy of information about books and authors in the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ' catalog. The Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Librarians Group is the official group for requesting additions or updates to the catalog, including:
* Adding new books or editions
* Editing book information (including covers)
* Combining and merging book editions
* Edits to page counts, quotes or awards
* Correcting author profiles for authors not in the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Author Program
If you're a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ member with a new request, click Join Group. Once you're added to the group, you can post your question following this link.
Simple requests (e.g. page count updates) typically take around 48 hours depending on the volume of requests, while more complex requests could take up to a couple of weeks (e.g. adding a new book).
Authors, if you are a member of the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Author Program, you can edit information about your own books. Find out how in this guide.
Keep in mind that Librarians don't:
* Grant or give insights into Librarian applications / Librarian status
* Move ISBNs or ASINs between editions
* Help with non-catalog Support questions (e.g. How do I reset my password?)
For help with these queries or to submit general questions, comments or feature requests, try Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Help or use the Contact Us form.
If you're a Librarian and want to process requests, please refer to our Librarian Manual to ensure edits are performed in line with Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ policies.

Hi, Charley. Are you using the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ website or the app? Most of the tips and tricks for new users require a browser, and are not available through the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ phone app. (You may be able to use a browser on your phone, but it's not always easy.)
New to the group? Start here!
The short answer is:
Navigate to the member's corner post you wish to edit
Click edit at the bottom right of the comment
Make the desired changes
Click Edit Post at the bottom left to save your changes
Formatting and such is covered in the New to the group?...link above.
Hope this helps.
