Totally cute, Bryan! Perfect for your book."
Thanks Valerie!

The classic fantasy....
Song of the Fairy Queen"
By the time I'd finished watching the trailer I didn't want or feel I needed to read the book. There is a problem with book trailers becoming like an episode of a tv series - I think the best book trailers tantalise and tease the potential buyer. To the extent that they feel the have to buy it to satisfy their curiosity. After the trailer I feel I know what is going to happen - probably I'm wrong but the emotional need to buy and read isn't there.
Plus did I see wrong or did Morgan age dramatically in the book trailer from a handsome 20 something into a 40+ guy? That was confusing.
The pictures are all lovely and the music suits. As something to watch and enjoy it is great - but it doesn't make me want to move on to the book.

I edited that short story collection and wrote four of its stories.

Ooo no fair! I was waiting for it to blow up and it only burned :(

Very nice, Duane! Love the special effects.

How funny!

After we were done burning it (and *not* setting the grass on fire), we found we had one last explosive left and two boxes of marshmellow Peeps left over from a previous shot (that we later edited out). So we put the Peeps around the burnt-out husk of the remaining first story of the house, doused them with citronella fluid, and set off the explosive we lovingly named the Insta-Crater.
Those Peeps shot Sky High.
We dubbed that section of footage Peepocaust '10.
Smiles!

Good one, Henry!

Thank you, Mountainmama. I'm glad you liked it.

Did you make the video yourself? I'm always interested in what programs were used, where you got your clips, etc.

iMovie must be extraordinary. I've seen several that people have done with it. I use a free program, Windows Live Movie Maker, and it's very limited. Of course, I've never been convinced that trailers sell books, so can't see much sense in putting a bunch of money into them.

iMovie is pretty basic, but it's easy to learn (I never used before creating the trailer) and get's the job done.
That's an interesting question. I don't know how effective a trailer is in regards of book sales. Even though my trailer has generated some sales, I see it as just another marketing tool.

Good one Jennifer - suspensful music, great pictures. Did you do it yourself?
(loved your book cover too!!)

Thank you! :) No, a friend of mine put it together (the cover was yet another friend) for me. It was her first attempt and I think she did a fabulous job. I did find all of the elements for it, though... the music, pictures, etc. But even my small attempt at the technical end was disastrous. :) Glad I have friends willing to take the reins.

My friend, Rod Crundwell, composed the music especially for it.

What great artwork! And you're so lucky to have music composed especially for it. Great job.

Thanks!
Lisi, the art designer, spent hours with me to find the images. So much fun:)

I used MS Windows Movie Maker to make that so I don't know if it'll allow me to add a dark glow around the text, but I'll have a look.

If that's Windows Live Movie Maker, you probably won't be able to add any glow, but you can at least make the font a little bigger.

Priya you have some compelling music and great pictures, but most of the text was difficult to read. It was either too small, blurry, or had too much other stuff happening to read it. It runs a little long, so you might want to simplify a little.

We kinda like it for the price. What do you think?

Suki, I like it for any price! Perfect length, great clips, very readable, music matches the mood, etc.
Did you make it yourself?

I tried one myself with Windows Movie Maker, but no matter how menacing and intense I tried to make it, the more hilarious it turned out.

Here's an example of one I've made for The Hunt by Linell Jeppsen (totally free):

Here's another favorite I made for a friend for Blank Slate by R W Graves:

Very nice, Henry. I would imagine it took some time to complete. Good job!

Definitely looks like a great story - love the title and the trailer gives a great "teaser" to the book. I certainly want to know more...

You might want to enter yours.

Beautiful, Amy, but I wish you had put your blurb over the pictures because I had no idea what the book is about.

Good suggestion. Thank you for the feedback.

I enjoyed it. Good images and concise format. I think most trailers are way too long. One minute is a nice length.

Gorgeous music and pictures, Valerie. It was longer than I prefer, but those elements kept me involved.
