What Games do you play? (PlayStation, PC etc.)

message 2: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith PC: Broken Sword, Morrowind, Silent Hill

XBox: Oblivion, Resident Evil 5
But I want one of the new Silent Hill games for XBox! Waiting to buy a second-hand copy... I might also check out Borderlands.

Mostly I like action/adventure games. Something with puzzles or treasure or both.

I have played most games out there, but the ones that I keep on going back to:

* World of Warcraft
* Sims (1-3)
* The Harry Potters lol
* Guitar Hero
* Final Fantasy (all, especially nr 8)
* Diablo!
* Pangya (rather don't ask lol)
* The Pokemon's

So basically PC and PlayStation

I'm a PC gamer exclusively.

Currently spending way too much time playing Dragonage. Just finished Dragonage: Origins after 68 hours and started on the expansion.

Borderlands is a good (and hilarious)FPS. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

Now if only Diablo III would get a definite release date...

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok wow, so you guys get pretty serious about these games hey???

I play really childish PC games at work (brought them from home) but I love it, it relaxes me when people irritate me.
Currenlty I'm addicted to Plants vs Zombies hahahaha

I use to love games where you have to build a city and then there is a war! Hehe, but I cant find any :(

I suggest Ages of Empires Niecole! Its awesome :)

I know Crusader! Come on Blizzard....
I guess they are too busy with the WoW expansion!

Never played Dragonage, to what would you compare it?

My brother is coming over tomorrow to try and get me addicted to Guild Wars!

Dragonage is very much like the old Buldar's Gate RPG's but using first person/isometric views with eyecandy. It looks very much like Oblivion, but with the excellent storyline and character development BioWare RPG's are known for.

I played a bit of Guild Wars, but it wasn't my thing.

message 8: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
Will have to check out Dragonage!

Yea compared to WoW, Guild Wars doesn't do it for me :)

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

That was the name of the game I use to play Lu!!!!!!
Age of Empires!!!!! I need it! Where can I get it?
I use to play untill late at night and get up really early on a saturday morning to continue!!!!!!

message 10: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith I used to play Morrowind and Oblivion like that Niecole. I'd have to tell myself it was time to go to bed when it started to get light outside.

Recently I played Oblivion for 12 hours straight, and Resident Evil co-op for 10 hours.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

I know what you mean Lauren! I'd sit there, freezing, but way to into the game to get up to go dress warmer, and going to bed was at the back of my mind, way back! I had to force myself to get up and go to bed when my eyes didnt want to focus on the screen anymore!

Here we go niecole! Its the collectors one, with 4 games in including the original for R87 and 24 hour delivery!

message 13: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
Oh and it wasn't guild wars, its Aion lol
Very pretty game I must say! Lots of detail!

I also used to play for hours at a time, lol don't think I can get past 11pm anymore!

message 14: by Emma (new)

Emma (emmauk007) | 1081 comments I kinf of feel embarassed saying that I play games, why I dont know, but I have always enjoyed playing games. I remember having an Atari which I loved and had about 100+ games on that. I dont like playinggames that are too difficult,it really irritats me if I get stuck and I cant figure out what to do next, so I tend to stay away from role playing games.

I have enjoyed playing: Rise of Nations, I really love a game that I can build and manage things and I can take my time with. I also like settlers and Age Of Empires. I also have Rome Total War which is great.

I dont like driving games but the one which I played alot of and never seemed to get bored with was Need For Speed, its a great game and lots to do, most driving games are just boring. But this was isnt. My husband has Football Manager and he loves playing that. I dont like violent games so steer clear of shoot em up types.

message 15: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
I also loved need for speed!

Lol my brother has gotten me to play Aion! Its such a pretty world!

Ooooh showing off my character:

I just took my name away so hackers don't trace me :P

Claudia (claudiavstoomanybooks) | 1779 comments I have a Wii, but it got boring after a few days. Pc games are my favourite. Right now I'm playing Mafia II. I'm going to start Borderlands once I'm done.

We have another group member that plays boderlands too :)

message 18: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Borderlands is awesome :) It's so simple, but so much fun - no moral choices, no saved games, you just kill the monsters and the bad guys, collect things for missions, and score loads of treasure. They also have a nice little function that makes it easy for you to compare guns. Great for co-op.

And Crusader, you were right, it's pretty funny :)

message 19: by Crusader (new)

Crusader (crusaderza) | 2457 comments Mod
It's good to be right! The co-op is quite fun as well, although things get tougher the more players there are.

message 20: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith More players means more treasure though :D

Also, it's great that you can play on your own and then join someone else's game.

Yeah, until you start to fight over who gets which gun!

message 22: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith I got Silent Hill: Homecoming this weekend, yay! Although, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure why I like Silent Hill, it scares the hell out of me, I feel nervous the whole time and I can't play it alone at night.
The puzzles are cool though.

message 23: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
I also love silent hill! Also scares me lol, but it is fun :D Some good memories!

message 24: by Charl (new)

Charl Fourie (charlfourie) I'm a PS3 gamer.

So currently it is Red Dead Redemption for me. :)
I can highly recommend it to everyone.

message 25: by Chrizette (last edited Oct 31, 2010 04:48AM) (new)

Chrizette | 906 comments I have a bit of a "hand-eye-co-ordination" thing going on - I can't seem to shoot straight, so I prefer puzzle type games. Easier because I also get frustrated when I can't get the hang of something. Some of my favorites are "Be Richer", "Be a King", "Built a lot" and my mystery game favorite CLUE :) Got a blackberry last week and I am draining my battery every day playing a Jewel-type (match 3)game on that.

You guys are making me want to try some of the more "involved" games.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

I am newly addicted to Farmville on Facebook, but seeing as I can't get onto facebook at work I have to do it at home.
Also, I like the simple games, I'm playing Mah Jong at work and I really get into it! lol I always try to beat my highest scores...

I also love "building" games, where you have to build the city and play along in it. And the hidden object games, I love them!

message 27: by Claudine (new)

Claudine | 163 comments Sim City, Age of Empires, Settlers, Need for Speed. The wii the kids play on. Mommy spends her days on the pc playing her games :)

I don't really play any others apart from Mah Jong from time to time.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

I love Mah Jong :)

I'd also love to have a wii... looks like to much fun.
I use to love Age of Empires... but I can't find it anywhere anymore

Claudine | 163 comments Incredible Connection sometimes carries it.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks Claudine :)

message 31: by Claudia (new)

Claudia (claudiavstoomanybooks) | 1779 comments I used to be addicted to this game called BookWorm. I still play it sometimes. It's one of the best word games ever, in my opinion.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

I love BookWorm!
I get so nervous when those fire blocks come on and thats usually a moment when you can't think of any words to make lol

message 33: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
Oh my I loved bookworm!!

I find it on yahoo right? Can't remember lol

message 34: by Milan (new)

Milan (frozencthulhu) Currently playing Resident Evil 4 -- it's great so far!

message 35: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith I played Resident Evil 5, which has co-op - so much fun!

message 36: by Milan (new)

Milan (frozencthulhu) I find Resident Evil 5 positively boring, even in co-op -- the setting is too bright and the "zombies" are too plentiful and non-scary :P

message 37: by Sonette (new)

Sonette | 384 comments Oh I suppose I must put in my two cents worth! I love quest games (on PS3 and PC mainly), so I love playing Lara Croft, got everything from the oldest to the newest. Love GTA! Finished Final Fantasy XIII a couple of months ago and have been absolutely addicted to the new Mortal Kombat. Have finished the Challenge Tower but am obsessed with the fact that the game shows as only 14% complete. What is left to play?????

Okay other than that I play a lot of drive games like Midnight Club (my favourite), NfS and more recently Blur.

I am also positively addicted to Sims3! When I start I don't stop playing for 3 - 5 days!

I'm such a Nerd!

Sims is evil!!!! Addicting us all like that lol

message 45: by Emma (new)

Emma (emmauk007) | 1081 comments I am not that into games I find I never have the time, but recently my brother in law lent us his PS3 with the Uncharted series with Nathan Drake the treasure hunter. I really love these games as the storylines are great, I normally just want to get on with other games Ive played but with these you are really into the plot

Lauren Smith Crap, I forgot about that...

Claudine | 163 comments About a year ago my desktop blew up. In that year I discovered indie books, Amazon was cheaper than Exclusives (who are closing down stores all over the country apparently, Irene Mall closes at the end of this month), started using Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and other book oriented websites more. The years prior to that I didn't read as much as I spent playing games. I don't even miss the games much anymore!

It is because it is such a rip off. I can get books on bookdepo for 1/3 of the price!
