No thread for ghosts? Hook me up! Mention if it's adult/romance or teen fic, plz!

I just finished the the first in the Greywalker series and I loved it. I guess you could call it adult but it wasn't graphic or anything.

These books in the "Downside Ghosts" series (adult UF) by Stacia Kane were much better than I expected. Unique characters, including a male named "Terrible". He has his own Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ fan group now.

Another series I love that includes a ghost (Billy Joe) as a repeating character and several other non-repeating ghosts is the Cassie Palmer series (adult UF) by Karen Chance:

A new author, I haven't read him so I don't know how good he is (he is on my tbr list) is Chaz McGee
detective dies and comes back as a ghost, helps to sove murder mysteries.



I don't know if these fits, the series is called Ghost Hunters, but they aren't the ghosts we think of; this is on another planet. But the author is good and the first one I read is pretty good. Jayne Castle




She has a prequel and another one that I'm not sure of its location. I was told they are the Harmony series and also the Ghost Hunter series, so I hope they fit.

The Pepper Martin Series - It's actually more mystery than paranormal. Pepper works as a tour guide at a cemetery. When she takes a hit to the head she suddenly starts seeing ghosts. I've only read Book 1 ans 2, but they were very good.

Meg Cabot's Mediator Series (YA) is fun.

I've read each of your adult picks and I heartily concur. Each is totally creepy in its own way.

I would second the greywalker series, great ghostie type books. All sort of other creatures too. But really it still plays as more mystery to me , she is a private investigator.

The Alex Craft series by Kaylana Price looks to be shaping up as a good series with some ghosts in it. So far, I would consider them adult UF with some romance/sex, but not in PNR territory.

Forgot my favorite! This is a YA series. The main character is a necromancer and interacts with ghosts. There is a ghost major character by the end too.

I have. I didn't like it nearly as much and found it very weak in comparison. If this was the first book I would not be reading the next. It's only thanks to Chloe and Derek that I plan to try the next book.

Lauren, I feel the same way. My rating towards it was not a 5 star either. I really like Derek and Chloe as well. It's also the reason I'll be reading the next book. Not to forget, that Kelley seems to be incorporating her other characters from the Women of the Otherworld series into this one as well.

The Gathering was a let down for me as well. I good reads, but it just felt like the author was going to slow with the whole book. (Though I think I gave it a pretty solid rating.)

Hopefully the next one will be better. :)

That's what I'm hoping, now that the book has finally got into some action it can only keep getting more involved.

I think the problem with it is that readers of the Chloe books already know the world and we wanted to get right into it. I noticed that readers that didn't read Chloe's books first really enjoyed The Gathering.

Really? That is good news. I think this should've been the beginning of the books, and then have them progress with Chloe's story. I just hope that the suspense returns. I didn't feel it much with this one.

Yeah, the suspense didn't kick in until that mean cliffhanger. We get some action, and the book finally ends.

. This is an UF/Adult book and it is very good. I stayed up way too late last night finishing it. I must admit, it was a little slow to start, but then it really took off. It even made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up a few times. :)

I have had this book on my tbr list for quite awhile. I think I will have to move it up!!

Just started the Greywalker series and it seems like it will have ghosts a plenty - hard UF


The Charley Davidson series is a light PNR about the grim reaper so she interacts with a lot of ghosts

I'm reading right now and I it took me a while to get used to the constant snarkiness. I love snarky comments, but it's almost over done here. I heard that the series gets better and better, so I'm looking forward to reading the rest.

I recommend A certain slant of light by Laura Whitcombe - its YA but very mature for a YA.... beautiful prose and fantastic story - not horrific but definitely haunting......A Certain Slant of Light

Oh, A Certain Slant of Light is a beautiful read. It's so haunting and I haven't read a ghost story that was so perfect. It's not humorous, nor a horror story.

I had the same feeling when reading this book. I just didn't love it like everyone who recommended it to me. I am planning to read the others when they are all out in paperback, so I am hopeful you heard right and that they do get better!

The Riddles of Hillgate

Just finished reading Shade (1st novell) and Shift (2nd novel of three) in the Shade series.

Its written by Jeri Smith-Ready and has an unusual twist on the usual ghost stories - in that anybody under the age of 16 who was born "pre-shift" can see and interact with Ghosts... without giving too much a tragic turn of events separate Aura and Logan, but what exactly is the Shift and why does it happen and can the effects ever be reversed? The story features two hot boys, Logan and Zachery who is newly arrived from Scotland - This is a more mature YA (references to sex and masterbation, drugs, drink).... But its an excellent read and I can't wait for the final book Shine to see what happens!

I really liked reading . This is not YA. It's basically the story of two romances, and how the past can haunt even a ghost.
Then there's by kelley Armstrong. These characters appear in other books of this series, but this is the book of the "ghosts". Also not YA.
I also liked the YA book .
Amanda Stevens is also a great book. Not Ya.
And then there's which definitely has ghosts in it...but this is not an average ya book.

ive read the second book, and i think it was great, it starts to introduce the world we knew from the summoning and gets a little more in depth

I really enjoyed this book, more than I thought I would, actually.

Forgot about these for a second. Ghosts don't play a major role in any of them but they are in the book and do interact some with the main characters.

The Haunted Guesthouse series by EJ Copperman does ghosts quite well. He's a terrific writer - and I'd give the books a PG rating. The lead ghosts are a dead PI and his client, though they're supporting characters in the story.

Nicki Styx by Terri Garey

Since y'all like ghost stories, thought I'd share my new release DEAD In it Nasreen, an Indian-American protagonist grapples with her life and death in West Texas. It shows a side of the immigrant experience that's usually invisible.

I think there's more books in this series. It involves ghost hunting. I'm on the second book, Red Fox, and so far I'm loving this series. The characters are great and so entertaining.

You should probably include the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. Moon Called is the first book. The main character can see ghosts.

I just started reading The Ghost Exterminator. I think the eBook was free. It's cute! Not spooky or intense like Kat Richardson's books or anything but cute.

I just finished reading Simon R. Green's Ghost Finders. It is about an organization that hunts ghost and centers around 3 of its agents. It can be quite scary at time but overall a fun read.

I'm reading Come to Me by Sofia Grey It has a ghost & a sexy cowboy in it and the heroine is a medium. Short story.
