There is no "Big Book" about the Netherlands in 14-18 yet, but since Wim Klinkert is a prominent Dutch military historian, this "the Neutral Netherlands: the First World War 1914-1918" looked like and proved to be one of the best substitutes yet. It focusses on the reality of a neutrality policy as seen by 9 main actors: Queen Wilhelmina, the Chief of Staff, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs etc. Touches on a lot of high-level issues as a result.
Bought during a short stop in Eindhoven, a third through it in a mere 3h.

And not previously on my to-read list but an intriguing staff recommendation on the sale table:

It is a deadly place to go - floors and nooks and rows - you can actually lose people in here - it happened to us especially if they are bending down and looking at the books on lower shelves.

I was at Powell's about 2 years ago and found some great research books I had no idea even existed. The best part about it is how well it is organized. I was in a used bookstore in Salt Lake City this week that was pretty big, but found nothing worth spending my money on. That had to be a first for me and a bookstore! There may have been something worthwhile there, but I could not find it.

(I trully believe this was meant to be because I can't find this series anywhere and I spotted this one immediately upon entering. If only I could be so lucky with the other three.)

And a Spanish dictionary I can't seem to find here.

I am really interested in the last one. I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy of it.

A must read for any true crime reader
