Miscallenous:

* This is a Folio Society edition. The GR edition list is either incomplete, or shows no cover.

* 3rd time I buy this, finally in the glorious English-language hardback edition :-)

WWI :

*A leather-bound, gold-leafed 1976 edition of my Bible :-)

They Didn T Want to Die Virgins: Sex and Morale in the British Army on the Western Front 1914-1918 (no cover) by Bruce Cherry (no photo)

In my defense, I have already read one of these and am into another one. Hope to make a dent in the list this summer. Now I need a good beach chair!

The bulk of this comes from the Thiepval museum & the Ypres bookshops. Can't tour the Great War battlefields from Neuve Chapelle down to the Somme and eastwards to Verdun/St; Michiel and not stock up.
I was at those bookstores on a visit of World War I sites about three or four years ago. Hard not to.

misc.

WWI

*Also a second edition of Alistair Horne's the Price of Glory in mint condition, given to a Englishman in '62 as a christmas present from his daughter. In other words, an heirloom.
It is not listed on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.

Wow Dimitri - just edit the bys above - some of them are fine - but you have a few things in the wrong spots. Also one blank space before the parens - (no photo)

Alisa, you are reminding me of Aussie Rick and his long lists. I hope you have room for all of these books. Although I am very guilty of piling them up too. I have decided to gift my finished books to give others the pleasure of another read.
Dimitri is not far behind you either.

As a child, I read one of Roy C. Andrews books about the dinosaur discoveries. Found this online and had to get it. I wanted to learn more about the man.
another:

Read a enough books on WWII that one about the home front seemed to supply some missing info. This book is a collection of newspaper columns, so the writing is dated.

This is Dutch YA from the 70's that I grew up reading, historical novels that for many people were their first introduction to the subject at hand. Terlouw's grassroots tale of the occupied Netherlands in '44-45 is joined here by Thea Beckman's books on minstrels during the Hundred Years' War around Poitiers (1356) and the city of Utrecht during the Eighty Years' War (1673).
I'm in love again. Bought on saturday, finished the lot yesterday.
