So far it's sad, but I'm loving it. I hope things can work out for them. All of them.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14526 comments I will be participating in this but I haven't found my books yet. I'll probably find something at the library to prevent me from spending money :)

Nice! All of my books will be books I already own, or got for free, because I can't buy anything new until April.

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 671 comments The book I'm reading right now is by a debut author, so she's new to me (and everyone else too).;-)
How to Marry a Duke by Vicky Dreiling

message 12: by Ann (new)

Ann Noell (fantasyannie) I finished Earl of Darkness by Alix Rickloff , not sure what to read next, but it will be by a author I have not read yet.

message 13: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Naughty Co-Mod (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 1922 comments I finished Anchor and Storm - an author new to me - and I'm surprised at how many excellent erotic reads I've stumbled on. Usually they're shallow and nothing but sex, which is fine if that's what you're looking for, but this one is very emotional. I really enjoyed it, even though parts were sad.

Fran | 88 comments Just finished His Little Black Book (Harlequin Blaze, #527) by Heather MacAllister which was a new author for me. A cute, light read.

message 16: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14526 comments Ya'll are making my resolution of only buying one book per month this year very hard.

message 17: by Ann (new)

Ann Noell (fantasyannie) with my new e-reader it is so easy to buy books I have gone a little crazy lol....

Cherra just recommended that book to me. I'm bidding on one from Ebay.

message 24: by Dina (new)

Dina (missdina) | 90 comments While surfing around GR, I came upon this thread and, wham!, here I am. I. Can't. Resist. A. Challenge. *sighs*

So I'm in. I don't know what I'll be reading yet. I'll have to see what I already have on my TBR, because I'm only allowed to buy books after July 1st.

message 25: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14526 comments Great to see ya, Dina! And there's always the library. I'm buying only one book a month so I will need to get my books somewhere so the library is a great alternative :)

message 26: by Dina (new)

Dina (missdina) | 90 comments Thanks, Pamela. :) I want to reduce my TBR so I'm focusing on it first. If there's nothing "new to me" there, I'll hit my sister's bookshelves. The library is usually my last resort, because it isn't close and I'm lazy, LOL.

message 27: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14526 comments No problem.... My sister doesn't read :( My mom does but her taste is a little different than mine.

message 28: by Dina (new)

Dina (missdina) | 90 comments My younger sister and I are the only ones in the family who enjoy reading. We don't have the same exact taste - who does? - but we both love romances and that's all that matters. :) My older sister and the rest of my family think we are "nerds". If they knew some of the stuff I read, they'd change their minds in a minute, LOL.

message 29: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14526 comments lol @ Dina. I always tell my hubby that the covers are misleading. And sometimes they are :) But its one of my few "joys" so he lets me read. Plus that means he doesn't have to fight me for the remote.

message 30: by Dina (new)

Dina (missdina) | 90 comments Oh yeah, 99% of the covers are misleading: the H/h's hair color rarely matches the description in the book, even though the six pack is usually a purrfect match, LOL.

message 31: by Dina (new)

Dina (missdina) | 90 comments Okay, I decided what I'll be reading for this challenge: Simple Need by Lissa Matthews (new author to me.)

message 35: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Naughty Co-Mod (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 1922 comments It's definitely one of the most down and dirty books I've read. And it worked for me!

²Ñ±ð±ô²¹²Ô¾±±ðÓË¥ (meliaann) | 414 comments Just finished a book by new-to-me author Kelly Wallace. Her book, Braving the Storm, was a 4 star read for me. Will certainly check out some of her other titles.

message 37: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 671 comments I finished my book a couple of days ago, and it was quite good, IMHO. I'll be giving it 4.5 stars.

I'm now working on a non-fiction book, The Science of Kissing by another new-to-me author, Sheril Kirshenbaum.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 1922 comments I'm reading Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale another author new to me.

And my new favorite book of all time. I've never read anything like it. It's touching, happy, sad, scary, comforting, loving, hating.... I've cried more reading this story than I have any other, and Christian is easily my all time favorite hero. And I'm not even through yet.

I've seen many ppl raving about it. I read one Kinsale but I didn't care much for it. I've been tempted to try that one because of the reviews but I'm afraid it'd be a waste of money for me.

message 40: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Naughty Co-Mod (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 1922 comments It's hard to say, Pamela, because everyone's tastes are different, and this is my first book by her, so I've none other of her writing to compare it to.

I adore this book. I can't put it down, love, love, LOVE this book.

message 41: by Ann (new)

Ann Noell (fantasyannie) I finished The Tyburn Waltz by Maggie Mackeever very good and now I'm reading Vampire, Bespelled by Maggie Mackeever by the same author so can't count it. Also reading About a Dragon by G. Aiken but can't count it either.

Fran | 88 comments All new authors I have read this past week-

Three to Ride by Sophie Oak , Fever by Kimberly Dean , Bachelor Unleashed (Kimani Romance) by Brenda Jackson

Fever was smokin hot, Three to Ride had a really good story to go along with the hotness.

Fickle that I am, I didn't read what I'd planned to. :) I read Lone Star Trouble by Autumn Piper instead. I didn't like it and I'm wondering if there's something wrong with me, because everyone else who's read that book seems to have enjoyed it. Oh well, c'est la vie.

message 45: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 671 comments Sometimes that just happens, Dina. There are a few books out there like that for me. I'm still scratching my head over why everyone loved it and I couldn't get into it. And then there's occasionally the reverse where I loved a book that has low ratings. Go figure!:-)

message 46: by Gigi (new)

Gigi | 102 comments Ok, I just finished The Unsung Hero- new author for me. I liked it. I'd definitely continue with the series.
