The last three are really calling my name and I've not really heard great things about the first, even though I eventually want to read it. So do I just bite the bullett and go for it? LOL. I'll see how I feel after midnight tonight. I want it to count towards May challenges after all.

Will be reading book 5 of BDB,

Just enjoying NASCAR, my driver Denny Hamlin is in the lead with 244 laps to go!

@Daffodil, my vote is for Jane True (since TSoG isn't callin' ya). I really enjoyed #1 and look forward to continuing with that series.
@Tania, I am from Richmond, VA and we have a track there. MANY people are HUGE Nascar fans. But, we've never been. I love to drive fast, but never got into the watching other people drive fast around and around and around and around .... LOL! But, I wish your man, Denny, a win. :)

I finsihed my favorite series shelf. I read

Wow....This book should come with a warning label or a fire extinguisher. Awesome, awesome read. Love it. There was so many hot steamy sex scenes that flowed so well with the story.
This book was excellent, from start to finish. I didnt know what to expect from the demons not really havent read to many stories with demons, but this book changed my mind. The leads, Eidolan and Tayla, had chemistry that lit up the pages. And they were likeable, too! The world-building was consistent and interesting, and the dialogue amusing without being cheesy.
The other thing I liked were the other characters; Wraith and Shade in particular. I can't wait to read their books.
Hoping the 2nd in the series will be on the vampire shelf.

Daffodil, I hope you enjoy it. I was pleasantly surprised and really liked the whole series. Read them in a week. :)

This book was so good! What I love about starting new series is the world-building, and this one is really interesting and innovative. Angels hold the real power, and they make and control the vampires of the earth. Pretty nifty.
Elena is a guild hunter who tracks vampires by scent, but in her newest job, she's been contracted by the archangel Raphael to hunt down an archangel gone crazy. I feel like there's so much good stuff in here, I don't even know how to start describing it. It was very hard to put down, absolutely engaging from start to finish :)

@ Vivian. Glad you liked Angel's Blood. I've got the third book hovering somewhere near the top of my TBR and hope I can get to it soon.

Book Completed on May 2, 2011 for my "Vampire" selection.

Review: This book has to be my favorite book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It was written so well and was full of continuous entertainment.
This is the first book in my opinion that heavily involves many of the characters in the series; which I loved. It is the story of Viscious and we finally get to learn about him and his troubled past. I liked his character before, but now I absolutely love him! The relationship between V and Butch evolves, Viscious meets his future and John continues to mature. Throughout the book the "brotherhood" family demonstrates true love and support for one another.
There are quite a few moments of surprise, shock and sadness. I actually felt a tear or two on my cheek. All I can say is OMG! This was such an awesome read; one I never wanted to stop. Book 6 here I come! I would highly recommend this to anyone.

So glad to see everyone's enjoyed/ing their reads! Good reviews, Vivian & Tania!
Daffodil, I felt the same way. Glad you're enjoying it. :)
PS: I'm about 1/2 way through

Review: Really fun read. Comparisons to Buffy are inevitable: young girl called to be a vampire slayer, endowed with exceptional strength through "magical" means, struggling to balance a real life with that duty. Gleason manages to impart her own twist on the theme.
The Regency setting meant Victoria had to also deal with the limited freedom women were granted. Raised to aim for nothing more than a good marriage, Victoria is determined to achieve that aim in addition to fulfilling her destiny. Slowly realizing that it may not be as easy as she thinks, Victoria has some tough decisions to make.
I didn't really care for Victoria's main love interest; he came across as tame and boring. Sebastian and Max both had more presence. I will definitely be looking for the next book.

Happy belated Star Wars Day, 4ce! :D Cool tidbit, Cinnamon.

Demon Song , the 3rd book in Cat Adams' Blood Singer series, finds Celia still coping with her fight to not go full vamp, while also dealing with the demon that just won't leave her alone and her recently discovered heritage. Troubles a brewin' and she finds herself smack in the middle of it.
The action in this series is non-stop. Trouble follows Celia around, but the girl carries some major weapons, many hopped on magic and always gets the job done. This edition to the series has a bit more romance than the previous books, although not like you'd expect. As with everything in this series, it's fresh, unique ~ just like Celia herself. For the first time, she finds herself in the midst of a hottie triangle. (view spoiler) Neither mage seems anywhere near close to backing down and each one of the men evoke different emotions for Celia. Unlike most triangles, this one proves to be interesting. I look forward to seeing how it plays out in future editions.
This is definitely one of my favorite urban fantasy series to date. I continue to be impressed with each book, each better than one before it. I am anxious to read The Isis Collar in March 2012.
This series is hard to review without spoilers, but I believe I blocked the only one I've included in my review. Please note that each book's blurp tends to provide spoilers for the previous books in this series. So, it's best to read only the blurb for the next book in your TBR list.

Good Job!! :D

NOOOOOOO! I went online to request the next book from the library and no one in the entire system has it! Can you believe it? They have books 1, 3, 4, but not 2. I'll eventully give in and buy it, but still . . . LOL.

In the Blood is the second book in Adrian Phoenix's Maker's Song series. This book focuses on Dante and all the people that want him. Dante is a vampire, but he is also more than a vampire - he is one of a kind. As a result, various government agencies want to kidnap him to use his powers, to study him, or to terminate him. The paranormal world is also interested in getting Dante, and his father Lucien has hidden him from his kind for years.
I liked that Dante was a relatively young vampire, only 23 years old. He acted like a young man, full of energy and attitude. Dante heads a rock band aptly called Inferno and his musical friends form his family. Dante's love interest Heather, an FBI agent was instrumental in keeping his sanity.
Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Animals are showing up dead in the woods with their throats ripped out and the rest of their bodies untouched, and the residents of the little town of Mystic Falls are freaking out as they attribute the attacks to demonic activity. Through all this mayhem, there is Stefan, who's led a relatively simple life; until now, that is. The boy suddenly finds himself faced with an unexpected arranged marriage and an equally unexpected visitor -- alluring and orphaned Katherine Pierce. Needless to say, it is attraction at first sight, and when Stefan's brother Damon returns from the army and appears to be quite taken with the young Katherine as well, trouble begins to brew. Two brothers and a girl: there has to be a winner, and there has to be a loser.
Based off of the hit CW TV show Vampire Diaries, Origins describes Stefan, Damon, and Katherine’s mysterious back-story. There are countless differences between this book -- co-written by the two TV show producers instead of L.J. Smith -- and the original Vampire Diaries series. While both are enjoyable, I found Origins to be slightly superior plot-wise, and L.J. Smith’s original story to be better written and characterized.
One little quirk: we never really discover who the villain is because of the abrupt ending. A nice conclusion or revelation of some sort would have been cleaned the plot up nicely. Overall, the book was still appealing -- the latter half especially, as the story finally picks up pace.
Origins would be a great read for all die-hard fans of the Vampire Diaries series and TV show, as it presents an alternative view of the Vampire Diaries world and sheds light on the murkiness of Stefan and Damon’s past.

Thanks :) To you guys too.
@Daffodil, That sucks! Hope you're able to get your hands on #2 soon.
Yep, teams are gettin' real close to a win. Wonder what Mr. Randomizer has in store for us next. We'll soon find out. :)
Go, team, go!! :D

5.6.11 ****
&!*@^ That's how I feel in my head about the ending. I'm still undecided whether it's a good or bad thing but definitely sticks with me.
So I'm reading this book, I'm probably more than 3/4 finished and think, eh, nothing special. Still love Merit and crew, the witty banter, but feel like the storyline is dragging a little, nothing much happening. Because of my love for the previous books, this was going to be a solid 3 stars, but definitely not spectacular.
Then...holy moley, what just happened?! While not exactly a Fever-type cliffhanger, we get hit with a couple of bombs and then told The End. I'm speechless. With the ending, the next book could be brilliant or it can suck, I'm hoping for the former.

review,
Probably one of the better YA books I’ve read for a long time. Evie is sassy, funny, and completely adorable. Completely normal 16 year old with a completely NOT normal life. Very memorable story.

Not a winning shelf, but it does bring more teams a(nother) 4-in-a-row!
Our Next Shelf is: 'paranormal-romance'
