I intersperse them with bunches of other books (plus need to read the book before Stormlord Rising first), so I expect at least one of them will settle comfortably into May.

Fortunately, there are PLENTY fantasy/sci-fi books on my to-read list, so I will have no problem choosing one.
Tossing up between any Stephen King book or The Secret Hour

Glad you're happy about it Jess!! Your choices sound good, and if you have lots on your TBR list, it certainly will make it easy for you!! :)

On the recommendation of someone in the group I ordered The Magicians' Guildby Trudi Canavan. I have been looking forward to reading this and I will be able to count another Australian author to my list for this year.
Mickey wrote: "Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card and if I finish that I might read a second book."

Bok 2 Managing Death gets even better :)

Sally906 - The Death Of Grass is superb. My opinion, of course, and it's years since I read it, though I still have the paperback. Pretty grim in spots but very believable and a great storyline.
@ Brenda - stunning illustrations!
@ KnowledgeLost - The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress sounds familiar, I may have read it a long time ago. The title certainly set off a good vibe.
@ everyone - one of the greatest S.F. books you'll ever read is Ursula K. Le Guin's "The Left Hand Of Darkness", if you can find a copy.
Happy reading!
Monya (aka Mary)
Thanks for all your input Monya! I'll have a look for The Left Hand of Darkness, see if my library has a copy. :)
(I can't take all the credit for the illustrations, or the rest of the challenge..Laura and Carmel had a major hand in it too) :)

That will be great Cheryl!! We actually had lots of illustrations to choose from, it was very hard to select only two!!! :)

I found the first one a bit bland, Jacinta, but even if you find the same, stick with it. I loved The Novice so much I've reread it about 5 times.

Good choice, Mickey. Ender's Game is one of my favourite SciFi book, and the sequel Speaker for the Dead was a big influence on my deciding to study anthropology.

Philip K Dick is a genius"
agreed! a scanner darkly was a good book too

For those in Adelaide, checkout the Blackwood Book Exchange if you want sci-fi or fantasy (or any other book - it's quite a big shop). The owner, David, is an avid collector from the US. Every so often he returns home to bring back another shipping crate of books.

Thanks for the heads up there Murray, I am looking forward to delving into a new author's world.

I like it when we have opportunities to share what we are reading regardless of the reasons as it allows me to check out new titles and authors. Click, click, click there they go, added to my TBR list and then I order from BD as I work through the physical pile. Saves me soooo much internet trawling time.
