This has been done of a few sites that I'm on and it usually turns into a massive thread, so I just throught that I would bring it here. So yeah...just post what ever is on you mind. I'll go first

*I wish that I was old enough to vote. AND I've been reading The Magus, which Logan suggested that I read, for like three weeks now. And its really good but I cant seen to get through it.

How come the dove gets to be the peace symbol? How about the pillow? It has more feathers than the dove, and it doesn't have that dangerous beak.

So our receptionist just got fired and all the people here can talk about is who is going to refill our coffee cups?? WTF?!

Thanks, Jackie. Drinks-a-lot Bear is near and dear to my heart. I didn't know that secretaries still refilled coffee. I thought that went out with sexual harassment and girdles.

As for the coffee, that is wacked. I have to admit I am guilty of something similar. I found out a female colleague was getting a divorce and my first thought was who will play leftfield. Her husband was on my softball team. I felt pretty bad for thinking that.

Random thought: What's more important-packing for my family vacation (leaving on Sat am), or finishing Jane Eyre so I don't have to pack a half-finished book?

I'd say finishing the book so you can start a new one that will be half-finished plus 10 others!

Julianne, knowing you, I'd go for reading!! I'll even come over if you want and help you finish packing.

I would read. I pack the night before a trip, cause I am online or reading!

Why do I always buy the big, fat beefy books?? Are they the best to curl up with on a cold night or is the waif look just starting to go out on my bookshelf??

I feel ya! When figuring out the fall book challenge, I seriously exchanged a few books b/c every one I picked had between 300 and 1000 pages (umm, yeah, who puts The Stand on a list where the more books you read the more points you get?!)

BTW, thanks for the advice everyone. But, I don't think TNBBC is the best influence when it comes to housework, is it? And, Melissa, I may take you up on that offer tomorrow. Can I steal you? Or are you just begging to get out of the house?

Well she didn't really make coffee or fill our cups. She would just put the cups by the coffee machine. I guess if you're feening for your cup o' joe in the morning it's important to have that cup there so you don't have to go blurry eyed to the supply room.

LOL...to the lost left fielder comment. When one of my other colleagues got laid off one of the questions someone asked is "Who is going to change the water?" On his cake they put "Goodbye, Waterboy" I thought he took it pretty well.

Yeah...I guess that would be me. I suppose I'm a glutton for punishment with the 'biggies' on my list...The Stand, Les Mis, East of Eden, etc.

Charity, LOL, I have at least three books on my list that are well over 350 pages. I must be an idiot.

And, Julie, Christopher and I are free -- or, once Jimmy gets home from work, I am free to come over (that might be easier) and help you pack. I always enjoy getting out of the house!

Logan- No, I didn't forget War and Peace, but you and I aren't reading it until December, right? So, I don't have to worry about squeezing it into the challenge. Don't make me hurt you by moving it up!

LOL! That was actually directed at ME, not you! I removed the Stand after I realized that The Three Musketeers is over 600 pgs long, and I planned on reading both in October. Of course, now that I think about it, if The Stand becomes an October book here, I'm still gonna read it!!

Jackie-LOL! The Waterboy cake might have been funnier if he had left of his own volition, but glad he saw the humor in it!!

Julianne - Yeah, I figured you were talking about yourself, but I had to reassure you that you were not alone. How am ever going to finish these in the allotted time? I guess I'm going to have to give up those hours between 1am and 7am where I just lie there in the bed unconscious. It's all about priorities, really.

I am feeling really accomplished right now. I finally finished the last 2 of my 5 essays for my summer reading...a day before school starts. But oh well, even when I procrastinated all summer I still got the work done. YAY ME!

I'm trying to decide if I am going to participate in the fall reading because I am reading too much as it is and really want to get a bunch of my books at home read but have a very horrible problem of going to the library and checking out more books then humanly possible to read.

I also write massively long sentences.

Ken I feel and understand. I stay up reading at night because that is the only quite time and then fall asleep at work because I didn't get enough sleep. But it is worth it to read!

I am rambling tonight!

for the first time in my life I have been openly rooting for the yankees. My new motto has become:

"I root for the Red Sox and who ever is playing the Yankees and Rays...unless they're playing each other...then I root for the Yankees"...lol..

at the end of the season I'm so going to have to wash my mouth out with soap...when the Red Sox traded Manny I became a yankees fan for a good 30 minutes before I came to my senses. that time I DID wash my mouth out with soap. literally.

Why does my DVR not recognize when a show actually starts?? How many X-Files endings have I missed because f*ing Ripley's Believe It or Not ran over? Frustrating.

Ken, you are my kind of guy. I am OC when it comes to having a clean, dry kitchen sink. My husband will leave water in the sink just to see how long it takes me to dry it. Gotta love that man.

My random thought: I should go up and see what's delaying the person I was supposed to meet with at 1:00 instead of just sitting here pretending like I'm busy.

I wish I had a choice over staying up and reading and going to bed. No matter how hard I try I cannot push myself to keep reading (or watching tv etc) when I'm tired. Every night I try and every night a wind up alseep with my book on my face. Speaking of that-does anyone else kind of dream that they're still reading? It's like my brain picks up where the book left off and just starts making stuff up-funny.

Joanie, lol, I think that happened to me once or twice. I remember in middle school, I used to stay up way too late talking on the phone and I would fall asleep while still on the phone and dream that the conversations continued.

Random Thought: Kids have been outta the house and at school since 830 this morning and Ive managed to get ONLY ONE CHAPTER read in my book. What the hell is wrong with me?

Melissa-that has happened to me too! I used to do it all the time when I was in college and would be on the phone with my boyfriend late at night. I would just randomly start talking about something that had nothing to do with our conversation (one time it was Pochohontas) because I had fallen asleep and was dreaming of that thing.

One night I fell asleep while watching tv and then woke up and asked my husband what we were going to do now that Debbie Reynolds had stolen all our wallpaper. Halfway through the question I realized that I had been dreaming and couldn't stop laughing-my husband thought I was insane!

I hate when all the regular spoons are in the dishwasher and I'm forced to eat my cereal with one of the big spoons...

Charity, i love using the soup spoons for my cereal.. I can get more Honeycombs on them that way :) Teehee

Random thought... Why do I always say that I am not going to get as involved in PTO, but I always freaking do!!!! Do these people know that PTO stuff is taking away from my reading time???!!!

I do the same thing, Lori. It's all about how many frosted mini wheats I can fit in my mouth at one time.

So yeah...as much as I never really liked Metallica, I somewhat started to like the new song...however after hearing it @ least 5 times a day for the past week I am starting to go crazy...

Today I had a can of A&W Rootbear and read the can it said low in sodium. Okay, maybe a bit out of it or dumb but sodium in Rootbear? I don't know. Ok severely random I know. I don't remember my mom ever using salt/sodium when she made homemade rootbeer.

Now I am craving a rootbeer float! Anyone?!

I loved my first day of school today! Although barely anyone I know is in my hr or in my lunch I still have my classes with a ton of my friends (except Spanish because I am taking spanish 1 and its all 8th graders and a few 9B students). And the only other thing that sucks is that I have share a floor with 7th graders aka sixies (they will be at the school for 6 years). Thats possibly the only thing that sucks about being a sophmore is sharing the 2nd floor.

I love all of my teachers. Especially my gym teacher who I was praying that I would get all summer because he is possibly the hottest gym teacher to ever walk the face of the earth. My friend who had him last year is wicked jealous :P

I feel lucky...this should be a good year

I'm tearing up. Hey, guess what?! Peeps are low in sodium, too. When you make something with 100% sugar it's hard to add anything else in there.

Okay I love Peeps. I had to run to the kitchen. Yes Peeps have 15 mg or 1% of daily value. How? They are pure sugar!!!!!!!!!! So does this mean the sugar cane has sodium? Any Chemistry friends out there?

Sodium is haunting me tonight!!!
