So funny.
Ken I have an overflowing bookshelf in my kitchen as well.
I was just thinking the other day, I need to go to IKEA and get a bigger one.

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) | 501 comments Whenever we see a dog with a cone my husband and I always say, "there goes another dog with a lampshade on its head!"

message 406: by Emma (last edited Sep 25, 2008 08:02AM) (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments I love IKEA too, awesome store. Ken, I love the rain and wind too! A lot of people stare at me when I say so though... Haha Beth! That's too funny! How do the owners react?

message 407: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments I think the owners were drunk when they put the cones on the poor things.

:)!

message 408: by Ann from S.C. (new)

Ann from S.C. | 1395 comments Yes, I must have been drunk when I thought that putting that cone on his head was going to stop him from licking his incision. He has figured out a way to reach the spot. It is so funny!!

message 409: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Really? My cat never figured it out...

message 410: by [deleted user] (new)

Ken that is too funny about the bedpan on the wall. Great use for magazines!

I feel like I missed a lot haven't really been on line for a few days. Wow feel like I've been gone forever.

Jeremy: I would love a house with wall to wall bookshelves. I think it's possible.

message 411: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Yeah, you kind of feel out of loop when you haven't been on for a while. Don't worry, you'll jump right back in!

message 412: by [deleted user] (new)

I know! The sad thing is that it was really only one day! But it feels like a week!

message 413: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Yeah, even one night seems like an eternity.

message 414: by [deleted user] (new)

So True.

message 415: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Sadly.

message 416: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Ken - have you been doing your nor'easter dance again ? ? ? ? <<>>

message 417: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Lucky!! It's gloomy and cold over here too, but I'm sick so I can't enjoy it! *pouts*

message 418: by Kellie (new)

Kellie (acountkel) | 992 comments The rain has started here in North Carolina and looking at radar, it's probably going to last into tomorrow. I'm taking today off. The hubby and kids just left for work/school. It's so quiet. All I hear is the wind outside. I love days like this.
Jersey looks like they are getting some heavy rain right now.
Stay dry!!

message 419: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome back Emilee. It stinks to miss a few days!

As far as the rain goes, I guess it almost upon us. I have a tee time tomorrow in Portland, ME with a friend of mine from Boston and my uncle. We are pretty certain of cancellation but holding on by a thread.

message 420: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments From the window, I think it's cold today (YAY!) but it's not raining.

message 421: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) | 501 comments Yes, Ikea is great. We bought a bunch of stuff from there for my oldest son's campus apartment. He loves all the stuff he got and everyone who comes over to his place compliments him on how nice it looks. Emma re: dogs with cones, we try not to laugh in front of the owners but sometimes it's really hard. My husband says he hopes we never have to put one on our dog b/c he won't be able to stop laughing. I think I'd be peeing in my pants to see her in one, too. Maybe I could photoshop one on her picture, which is my avitar.

message 422: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Hahahah!!! Ohh, if you do photoshop it, it'll be one of my favorites! :)

message 423: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1000 comments Random thought: I have an interview at Borders today. It's just a part time thing so I at least will be getting a paycheck while I am career searching. I'm hoping my love of books and 6 years working in guest services will be enough to get me in.

message 424: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Awesome! I hope that goes well Jessica.

message 425: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1000 comments Thanks, Emma! I figured if I was going to apply somewhere for part-time work admist my job search, it might as well be a place I will enjoy going to!

message 426: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Oh yeah, bookstores are definitely high up there on the enjoyable list. :) Good luck!

message 427: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Big time! :)

message 428: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Hahah!!! I like that idea. I'm sure Borders would like that too!

message 429: by [deleted user] (new)

Ha, Jessica! I've been keeping my eye on Borders job openings forever. I don't think I could even take on a part time job, but still.

message 430: by [deleted user] (new)

Good reference about "the network".

message 431: by She'Davia (new)

She'Davia Williams (redsoxocd) I feel like I've been neglecting Good Reads.

message 432: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments We haven't seen you a lot She'Davia? Where have you been? In reality? *gasps*

message 433: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1000 comments I got the job at Borders! As an employee, I'm allowed to take two books home for two weeks and then bring them back. At least my whole paycheck won't be going toward books! And now that I am an employee, I have access to internal job postings. Borders is headquarted in Ann Arbor so maybe I can get an HR job there eventually.

And Ken, I love that image of all of you guys behind me as my network.

message 434: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Haha! That's GREAT Jessica! You seriously get to take them home for two weeks? Oooo, that's awesome!

message 435: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1000 comments Yeah, I was so excited when they told me that. And what do you think the first two books I'm going to take are? Dracula and House of Leaves of course!

message 436: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments And you don't have to spend a dime!!!!!! Fabulous! :D I think you got the best deal on those two out of all of us!

message 437: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1000 comments Yes, I'd say so! But seriously, if I can work for the corporate office eventually, life will be great.

message 438: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments I bet!!!! :)

message 439: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) | 501 comments Of course, I'll need my son to do this for me. He's coming home from school for the weekend. I'm going to see what he can do. I'll just pee myself if it works!

message 440: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Oooo, the cone thing? Great! I hope it works so we can see it!

Thanks Jeremy. It's so good to be back!

message 445: by [deleted user] (new)
