Graham (giraham) | 60 comments Let The Right One In is a great book, parts of it are a bit disturbing, and the twist (which is only hinted at in the swedish film) is handled brilliantly. I havent seen the US version, the original is an absolute cracker

Tyson Adams | 54 comments I kicked off the month with a Garth Ennis horror comic. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/77...

Crossed is pretty disturbing, definitley made worse by the graphic novel nature of the story-telling. Haunting. Not to be read by non-horror fans.

David (tasbooklover) | 151 comments I just finished my first November horror book, Carnies by Australian author Martin Livings. An enjoyable Aussie horror book if you are into a bit of werewolf action. Carnies by Martin Livings

Occasionally I manage that Michael, but not often...usually do them in 2-3, though some take much longer!! lol

message 116: by David (new)

David (tasbooklover) | 151 comments Unfortunately it doesn't happen that often Michael :) I gotta make the most of staying home bored out of my brain somehow LOL!

message 117: by David (new)

David (tasbooklover) | 151 comments Yup 2-3 days for me also Brenda. If a book takes me much longer than that I'm likely to lose track of the plot.

Yes, when they take longer (like Knowledges I'm reading now) I really want to finish, as I want to get onto something else! I'm not one of these people who can/wants to read 900-1000 page books >.< I'm not going to read Stephen King's new one, as it's up there!!!

Everyone's lifestyles are different Michael, so with what you do, 5 days or so is excellent!

Brenda wrote: "Well done Mickey! Didn't take you long:)"

Nope, only two or three days. I don't get that much homework because my teachers don't like giving out homework and I've only just come of age to have a part-time job... so I have a lot of time to spare.

Death cults are scary as! This one freaked me out Death Cults Murder, Mayhem and Mind Control (True Crime Series) by Jack Sargeant

message 130: by Maxine (last edited Nov 04, 2011 09:37PM) (new)

Maxine (caffeine_chapters) | 21 comments I've finished reading The Case of Charles Dexter Ward by H.P. Lovecraft who is a writer I generally admire in the genre. This novel was published posthumously, and I struggled with it a fair bit. It was quite laborious to read, although there were some classic Lovecraft lines. It did pick up around 3/4 of the way through the novel but by then I was 'over it'. I've given it three stars mainly because the idea was quite good, and it did have the odd creepy moment. I've picked up Damned by Chuck Palahniuk which hopefully will be a better read.

Sally906 | 71 comments I have done my one Horror commitment for November - it is:

Tales of Terror from the Black Ship by Chris Priestley Tales of Terror from the Black Ship by Chris Priestley

Is not as as good as the previous ones in the series - almost too horrific and creepy considering it is aimed at younger readers than I :)

message 145: by Richard (last edited Nov 20, 2011 08:52PM) (new)

Richard 11/22/63 - done mine although it is not really a horror. it has some great menace and a good "dark presence" in the form of history trying to defend itself. this is kings best book in a long time, a great big chewy well written story that is pretty much a pleasure from first to last page. some moments of discomfort (a knee popping which made me wince) and definite malevolance but mostly a thrilling ride that only slows down now and then
