Hello Mr Lawrence i would like to ask you if possible i finished Prince of Thorns today and I'm just wondering if you intentionally made it short? I will be starting King of Thorns at some point which i believe if I'm not wrong an extra 76 pages was this intentionally please or just simply book one was short. Thank you
Books are the length they need to be. I have written books considerably shorter than Prince of Thorns (One Word Kill) and books that are a lot longer (The Book That Wouldn't Burn).

Nope. But I also never entered one.

I guess if you consider short fiction magazines to be a writing competition then having had a lot of short story submissions rejected counts as a lot of 'competitions' not won...
