For me, this was pretty disappointing. I recently read another one of Rona Halsall's books "Love You Gone" and it was everything you could ask for in a thriller. So when this book was offered to me to review I jumped on it, but I cannot say this book was nearly as engaging or thrilling.
The story begins with intrigue as Mom of baby Harry is arrested and is forced to serve 4 years in prison for a crime she did not commit. Now fresh out of prison sh For me, this was pretty disappointing. I recently read another one of Rona Halsall's books "Love You Gone" and it was everything you could ask for in a thriller. So when this book was offered to me to review I jumped on it, but I cannot say this book was nearly as engaging or thrilling.
The story begins with intrigue as Mom of baby Harry is arrested and is forced to serve 4 years in prison for a crime she did not commit. Now fresh out of prison she is determined to get her son back and figure out who set her up....which leads to her life being at risk.
The story flashes back and forth between Present and Past. There was nothing that kept my interest and I found myself trying to rush through the book because I pretty much called the "bad guy" from the beginning and kept wanting to shout at Natalie for how blind she was to the whole situation. It was predictable, long winded and just did not hold my attention.
One thing that kept bothering me over and over was Natalie would remember her child that she ultimately was separated from when he was about 6 months. The way she would remember things or talk about him was like he was a 6 year old child. It just didn't jive.
I am sad to say this book did not work for me. I would like to read more by this author because I really liked the previous book I read by her.

Another year of reading through the Bible! This year I read the ESV version, last year I did the NLT. The ESV is for sure more traditional in the wording ,but for both I have done the Chronological Order and LOVED it.
Reading through the BIble the second time was so enjoyable and I for sure grew in my understanding of the word and appreciation of having access to His Word.
Is it wrong if I just plagerize from Psalm 119 how I feel about the Bible? Another year of reading through the Bible! This year I read the ESV version, last year I did the NLT. The ESV is for sure more traditional in the wording ,but for both I have done the Chronological Order and LOVED it.
Reading through the BIble the second time was so enjoyable and I for sure grew in my understanding of the word and appreciation of having access to His Word.
Is it wrong if I just plagerize from Psalm 119 how I feel about the Bible? But truly it captures: His word is my delight!
