One of the most enlightening parts of this book has been Washington’s relationship with his mother, Mary, who lived to see the end of the American Revolution. She hardly acknowledged her son’s impact in the conflict and was also allegedly a Tory.

Halfway through and only at Yorktown, getting there slowly but surely. Washington was truly amazing along with many of those who surrounded him.
