J.B. Turner Thanks for taking the time to contact me. Jon Reznick is a covert black-ops operative. He is highly paid by US government via CIA black-ops program. But he also has significant money inherited from his late wife, a lawyer, who died on 9/11. Her family are from money.

Hope that answers your question.

Nice of you to get in touch.

Best regards,

JB
J.B. Turner Hi Adam, Apologies for taking so long getting back to you. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to ask this question. I think you're probably right, Nathan Stone does appear to be a psychopath. But I think if you check out the follow up Reckoning and then Requiem, you will see a character who is transforming from the brainwashed killer to a man who appears to be fighting for his soul and for his identity. So getting back to your question, why such a reprehensible main character? I guess it was a challenge, to start with a man who one doesn't want to root for and who appears to kill as and when required, including innocent people. But as the series progresses, this is not the real Nathan Stone. This was the engineered Nathan Stone. And he himself is on a journey as he tries to break from of the constraints of The Commission. Hope all that makes sense. Fantastic you got in touch. Best wishes and regards, J.B. Turner
J.B. Turner Hi Mandi,

Thanks for taking the time to drop by my Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ blog. Hopefully I can clarify.

No plans over the next year or two for the 4th American Ghost thriller, featuring Nathan Stone, but it will be back. Some time.

Got a couple of Jon Reznick thrillers out this year (HARD HIT and HARD SHOT), and hopefully another Reznick at some point in 2020.

But American Ghost 4 will emerge hopefully in the not too distant future.

Regards and best wishes,

J.B. Turner

J.B. Turner Hi Debra,

Thanks for taking the time to contact me. Apologies for taking so long to get back to you.

It's a great point you make. Why does he face so much pushback?

I believe the answer lies in Meyerstein being FBI, and trying to strike a balance between legal considerations, and Reznick's more robust/less concern for legal niceties.

But I believe as I've written it, it seemed natural that there would be conflict between Reznick who has been trained to carry out a mission, and get it done, and ask questions later.

I suppose also it comes from a basic fictional part of what makes a good page turner, and that's having conflict. Primarily, an external conflict with people who are trying to thwart his mission - be that the bad guy or the Feds who have a different agenda to Reznick. And from this conflict will produce the tension to the narrative.

Hope that answers your question!

Best wishes and regards,

J.B. Turner

J.B. Turner Hi James,

Thanks for taking the time to contact me. Very kind what you say. Much appreciated. My next book, REQUIEM, the third in the American Ghost thriller series is out on Thursday, and very excited about this particular story. The Nathan Stone character/protagonist is a far darker character than Reznick, but with a similar skillset. But with regards Jon Reznick, I can say that I am about to start edits on a new Jon Reznick thriller, HARD HEAT, out April/May 2019 I believe (don't hold me to that). And I'm currently working on another Jon Reznick book, HARD SHOT, which is set in New York, and I believe might be out by the end of 2019, hopefully November.

Hope that answers the question!

Regards and best wishes,

J.B. Turner

J.B. Turner Many thanks, Rod. Glad you liked it. Requiem, the third in the trilogy is out in November, from Thomas & Mercer. Regards, J.B.
J.B. Turner Hi Mike,

Thanks so much. Delighted you enjoyed Hard Road. My focus now is on the next Reznick book, out 8 February 2018. And I've also got a brand new series out in 2018, the first being AMERICAN GHOST. American thrillers. But to answer your question, Mike, no, far prefer writing the type of books I read, which is American crime fiction/thrillers. Hope that answers your question.

Regards and best wishes,

J.B.
J.B. Turner Hi Regina,

Delighted you enjoyed the two Deborah Jones books. No plans to write a third, focussing on the Jon Reznick books. The most recent Reznick book, HARD WAY, was published in May 2017. And the next one should be out in early 2018, HARD FALL.

Nice to be in touch.

Regards,

J.B.
J.B. Turner Thanks so much for your kind words. Delighted you enjoyed the first two Reznick books. Apologies for taking so long getting back to you. The fourth Reznick book, HARD WAY, was published in May 2017. And the next one, HARD FALL, is out early 2018, all from Thomas & Mercer. I've also started a new thriller series, the first of which is called AMERICAN GHOST, which should be released some time in 2018.
