I just read Hard Road, loved it :) and I have already bought the next 2. Like Lee Child, you write really, really well as 'an American'. You only made 1 slip that I noticed; you gave a guy's weight in stones, not xxx lbs. Obviously the US is the biggest market for books in the English Language, but would you never consider 'doing a Rankin' and writing about your own toon ?

Thanks so much. Delighted you enjoyed Hard Road. My focus now is on the next Reznick book, out 8 February 2018. And I've also got a brand new series out in 2018, the first being AMERICAN GHOST. American thrillers. But to answer your question, Mike, no, far prefer writing the type of books I read, which is American crime fiction/thrillers. Hope that answers your question.

Currently reading Hard Road and find that I like Reznick, unlike Nathan Stone (Rogue) whom I really hated. Stone was a psycho in my opinion. He reminded me of "The Iceman" (Richard Kuklinski), who was despicable, yunno, in my opinion. So Stone kills ***SPOILER ALERT!!*** all the characters in the story. Why have such a reprehensible main character? Cheers and Happy Writing!!

I think you're probably right, Nathan Stone does appear to be a psychopath. But I think if you check out the follow up Reckoning and then Requiem, you will see a character who is transforming from the brainwashed killer to a man who appears to be fighting for his soul and for his identity. So getting back to your question, why such a reprehensible main character? I guess it was a challenge, to start with a man who one doesn't want to root for and who appears to kill as and when required, including innocent people. But as the series progresses, this is not the real Nathan Stone. This was the engineered Nathan Stone. And he himself is on a journey as he tries to break from of the constraints of The Commission.
