Twelfth Night, or Hotel Illyria
Despite......*gestures vaguely* everything, my University's English Drama Group has found a way to (digitally) perform the play they had planned for this summer term. They are premiering
"Twelfth Night, or Hotel Illyria;
An adaptation of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, or What You Will"
right now and I'm incredibly proud of our students' creativity as well as their dedication to, and passion for their art!
If anyone is interested, a video will be available on YouTube for the foreseeable future:

Fighting for the Future: Essays on Star Trek: Discovery
I've been knee-deep in a chapter revision all day, so I was a little grumpy when the doorbell drew me away from my desk.
BUT
I just got the author copies for "Fighting for the Future: Essays on Star Trek Discovery", the collection I have co-edited with my friend Dr. Sabrina Mittermeier! It's a real thing! A real book in the world with pages and all!
I CANNOT!!!

Ursula K. Le Guin
Since her birthday would have been on Monday, I listened to Ursula K. Le Guin's "The Fliers of Gy" tonight while unwinding from work and doing crafts.
As always when I sit down with her work, I mourn for her again. But I'm also, every time, thankful for the gifts she has left us. Her writing always moves me and always, always makes me think.
So here's to Ursula.
(The recording I listened to can be found here: I highly recommend sticking around for the conversation afterwards, too. For eye-readers: The Unreal and the Real: Selected Stories, Volume Two: Outer Space, Inner Lands)).)
