Larry Gottlieb earned his degrees in physics from MIT and the University of California. He has always wanted to know how the world works and felt physics would answer his questions in a definitive way. However, one day a life-changing experience could not be explained in that context, and he suddenly realized there was more to this inquiry than he could have imagined.

Over the last 48 years, Larry has endeavored to explain what happened that day and this has led him to a larger understanding of what it means to be a human being.

He has lectured, led discussions and workshops, written blogs, and recorded podcasts that captures this unique way of observing the world and its inhabitants.

“In fact, it could be said that our language evolved for the express purpose of allowing us to participate in that interaction with others. That would explain why it is so hard to talk about whatever it is that might lie beyond or behind the description of the world: our language evolved to represent the description, and not the world itself.”
Larry Gottlieb, Hoodwinked: Uncovering Our Fundamental Superstitions

“After more than a hundred years of debate, quantum scientists still believe that the physical world is a law-based machineâ€ Perhaps the time will come when these women and men of science finally discover for themselves that we cannot fully explain reality without talking about consciousness. Maybe then, more of them will begin to consider the implications of realizing that there is no world apart from its observation, that the world “out thereâ€ isn’t what it seems to be, and that we are so much more than we imagine ourselves to be.”
Larry Gottlieb, Hoodwinked: Uncovering Our Fundamental Superstitions

“I speak a bit about physics in this book. I do so in order to see if I can convince you, as I have been convinced, that what we call common sense, our shared “knowledgeâ€ of the world we live in, is not a good indication of how the world actually works, let alone what it actually is.”
