That's the day TERMINAL, the long overdue fifth book in the series, will be available exclusively on Amazon in Kindle and paperback.

If you'd like to get started now, the first seven chapters are on my website.

TERMINAL has been in my head and in my heart for a long time, but it would never have made it to the page without you. Thank you all for badgering the hell out of me for more Lomax and Biggs. It worked.

Note to those of you who haven't yet read the first four Lomax and Biggs books. You can start with TERMINAL. The "A Plot" will grab you before you've finished the first chapter, and I've done my best to weave the backstories through the book, so that even as you meet the characters for the first time, they'll feel like old friends. And the best part -- when you've finished TERMINAL, you still have the first four books to look forward to.

Below is the original response to Steve Tripp's question, posted over a year ago:

Steve, I ask myself the same question all the time. Despite the great reviews and a bunch of diehard readers that are just a few thousand whackos short of a cult following, the Lomax and Biggs series never took off. But did I sit around and whine about the lack of marketing support I received from not one, but two, publishers? Not me. Well, I might have, but James Patterson called me. I don't remember his exact words, but in my head it sounded like this 鈥� how would you like to coauthor a #1 bestseller and get paid well for doing it? Hell of a question, and best of all, it wasn鈥檛 multiple choice.

The first book, Kill Me If You Can, was a standalone, but then came NYPD Red, and a series was born. Red 3 will be out in March 2015, and I鈥檓 currently knee deep in Red 4. But like you, I can鈥檛 get Lomax and Biggs out of my system. So I started thinking about the next one, and when I had a great idea I submitted it to several publishers. They all said they鈥檇 be happy to work with me, but none of them wanted to publish the next book in a 鈥渇ailed series.鈥� Publishing is a not-too-subtle blend of art and commerce, and as you can see, commerce always kicks art鈥檚 ass. Well, maybe not always. There鈥檚 at least one publisher out there who would like to see the next Lomax and Biggs, and they鈥檝e asked me to write it.

So that鈥檚 what I鈥檓 doing. As for when you can get your fix, I can鈥檛 say, because the world鈥檚 best selling author takes precedence over two endearing cops from LA. But I am writing it. A little at a time 鈥� a murder here, a dead body there 鈥� Lomax and Biggs #5 is coming along. I can鈥檛 give you an exact pub date, but I can promise you this 鈥� it will be worth the wait.
