Love, Christmas: Songs of Christmas LET IT SNOW! by Stephanie Queen #mgtab

Let it snow! is a song to remind us of all that holiday joy!

All those wonderful, heart-warming Christmas songs, from carols to old time favorites sung by crooners from the 50s, will be playing on the radio or in your own personal digital mix soon. My all-time favorite winter holiday song is–you’ve got it–Let It Snow!

When I was a kid, we used to gather for big family dinners on Christmas day that lasted all day long. They were merry affairs from beginning to end. One of my favorite memories from these times is of my Aunt Charlene who would sing along with the songs playing on the stereo. Her favorite, and now mine, was Let It Snow. One Christmas especially she sang and I joined in. She hugged me to her side and felt warm and soft, the smells of Christmas tree and roast turkey and cinnamon filled me. As we sang we watched the beautiful white flakes fall outside onto a gentle blanket of snow. Oh how cozy and warm and wonderful I felt inside! The glow of those times and that song never left me. I feel it every time I watch it snow outside and every time I hear the song Let It Snow.

Fast forward to now and I’m super excited to be part of a Christmas romance collection celebrating the songs of Christmas with my story titled Let It Snow. I’m sharing the fun with a reader who also loves this song, by dedicating my book to her–Patty Curry. May this story bring as much holiday joy to your heart as the song.

We Need a Little Christmas - Leanne BanksWhen hard-edged, Christmas cynic, Justin Dane Burgess encounters Christmas fan, Lilly Johansen, he doesn't know what to think. Can this Christmas cynic fall for the human equivalent of a Christmas angel? More importantly, can he be the man she needs? Frosty the Snowman - Mimi BarbourStranded in an Alaskan snowstorm, strangers Hali and Terry are forced to rely on each other for survival. Due to a freak snowstorm that forces him to land his small Cessna, strangers, Hali and Terry, and a cute but mischievous Samoyed puppy are stranded in the Alaskan bush. From the beginning, she’s never known a man so independent and rigid in his need to have things done his way. And he’s never known a woman so willing to help, stepping on his pride in such a lovable way that he can’t take offense. The frigid temperatures are brutal and when he falls through the ice to save a puppy, the stakes for survival become enormous. Can their blossoming mutual attraction withstand their multiple challenges? Last Christmas - Joan ReevesLast Christmas, Annabelle fell in love at first sight with a mysterious stranger. After a week of unforgettable passion, he walked out of her life. A year of heartache accompanied by the dirty tricks life can serve up finds her back in her hometown, determined to forget the man who still haunts her dreams. Who should walk into her grandmother’s Christmas party? Why the man who seduced her, lied to her, and betrayed her. He has a new name and a new identity, but his effect on her is as old as time. Rick Lassiter thinks he can woo Annabelle back to him—and his bed. But, he didn’t count on the passionate sweet-tempered woman he remembered as having a will as strong as his and a desire to make him pay for breaking her heart. Holly Jolly Christmas - Mona Risk This novella is a prequel to the Holiday Babies Series Heather and Jeff have always been in love. But to find herself pregnant now, at eighteen, before she starts college and he joins MIT for a master’s degree... Talk about the wrong time. Besides, the news might kill her father, who is battling cancer. Although the decision to give up her baby is breaking her heart, Heather contacts an adoption agency. Except that Jeff absolutely refuses to consider her solution and their perfect relationship is slowly deteriorating. How can they revive their loving bond and protect their baby’s future? Do You Hear What I Hear? - Patricia RosemoorThe song "Do You Hear What I Hear?" was written as a plea for peace during the Cuban Missile Crisis in the middle of the Cold War. Now Christmas is just around the corner, and live-in-lovers Shelley and Jake are in a cold war of their own. Detective Shelley Caldwell has all wonderful memories of Christmas, while Jake DeAtley, born of a mother turned vampire while pregnant with him, has none. They’ve come to a compromise inthat she can decorate “her half of every room, but no Christmas tree. Then a case of hit-and-run leaves a dead body and a magical Christmas tree that Shelley can’t resist bringing home, heating up the war between her and Jake. There is more to the tree than either knows. When they discover the truth about it, will it bring them together or keep them farther apart? White Christmas - Rebecca YorkThe snow is coming down so fast, Amelia Parsons doesn't see the speeding car until it's too late. One moment she’s crossing an ice-rutted street in St. Stephens, Maryland. In the next, she's flying into the air, and the world goes black. She wakes, confused, in what appears to be Santa’s workshop during the holiday rush. If that’s not strange enough, a hunky FBI agent named Daniel is there, demanding to know why she’s involved in a plot to ruin Christmas. Can she convince him she's not the villain and then work with him to find the real saboteur? So This is Christmas - Denise DevineAnnabelle Lee—is looking forward to a weekend of catching up, munching cookies and enjoying Christmas cheer with her childhood girlfriends. She hasn’t had a vacation since this time last year and desperately needs the time off. Her business has taken a toll on her life, leaving her exhausted and questioning the price of success. She arrives early at Ellie Stone’s family cabin to relax and decide the direction of her future, but to her dismay, she’s not alone. Ellie’s twin brother is also there and declares he isn’t leaving until Friday. Christopher Stone—is the boy who mercilessly teased her when they were kids. He has grown into a handsome man with a career in professional baseball and a pop-star girlfriend. He appears to have an idyllic life, but the longer they talk, the more Annabelle suspects his love life isn’t as perfect as he claims. She can’t deny her attraction to him and knows he’s attracted to her as well. Best Friends Forever—will this week be like old times or the beginning of a new chapter in her life? Grown Up Christmas List - Donna FasanoDina Griffin is on the run and wants only one thing this Christmas—to feel safe. However, Officer Gav Thomas tries to arrest her. Arrest her? Yes. But the two become friends, and soon the attraction they feel is unmistakable, even though Gav senses Dina is hiding something. Is he really a local cop or her guardian angel? Blue Christmas - Traci HallLibrarian/waitress Tamsyn Lee is all about accepting change, while Evan Hawke must do everything just the same in order to find his muse. He hopes the seaside grill he wrote his first mystery masterpiece in will kick-start his third book before his publisher drops him. Tamsyn has zero tolerance for divas, but she’s read Evan’s novel and knows he has the talent. Besides, helping him takes the focus off of spending Christmas without her family. Evan realizes he needs a miracle—could feisty Tamsyn be an angel in sneakers and a ponytail? Santa Baby - Taylor LeeDancing to Eartha Kitt’s sultry list of all goodies she expected Santa Baby to put under her tree, Lily slid down the pole and stifled a sigh. A blue convertible? A sable? A Tiffany ring? Right! Like Lily could expect anything remotely like that under her tree! How about first making sure she had a tree. At that moment she saw him. The big man with the shaggy blond hair and gleaming dark eyes was leaning casually back in his chair. His narrowed expression was hard, knowing. It was clear that he was studying her. Stunned, she quickly looked away, her carefully honed rules fleeing in her panic. The imposing man had “cop written all over him. Squashing down her terror, Lily pasted a professional smile on her face, waved to the screaming crowd, and fled the stage. Anyone who’d ever tangled with dirty cops knew that the hard blue line protected the most egregious acts committed by one of their brothers. If anyone doubted that was true all they had to know was that Aiden was a free man and Lily was on the run. Lily’s only hope was that this time she and Gabriella had run far enough, fast enough, that he wouldn’t be able to find them. If he was any judge of women who shed their clothes for a living, and Zach most certainly was, he recognized her startled wide-eyed expression. He’d seen it far too many times in his line of work. It was fear, pure and simple. The Vice Cop reminded himself all that meant was that the beautiful woman had something big to hide.
Let it Snow - Stephanie Queen Guilt and sorrow eat at ex-special ops legend Dane Blaise like kryptonite until he can’t remember why he wanted Shana, his ex-Scotland Yard partner and former balm for his soul. Shana can’t reach him and she’s desperate until a stranger, a padre from South America shows up in a snow storm on Christmas Eve. The stranger claims he’s there to help, but what can he possibly do... Merry, Did You Know? - Jennifer St. GilesMC Love has decided to give her soon to be born baby up for adoption. In her experience, the cons of growing up in the Love’s family dynasty far outweigh the pros. She wants her baby to have stable parents and a normal life, far from her family’s dysfunctional insanity and the paparazzi that hound her and her seven sisters, all of which are step except one (Her mother, True Love, is still looking for the love of her life). None of the Loves are lucky in love. Her sisters Pure and Sweet had a reality TV show, Love’s Truth about the Loves romantic tragedies. MC does not want her own misfortune in the gossip columns or on her sisters show. She has kept her pregnancy a secret as is currently hiding on St. Simons Island, Georgia while her family thinks she is vacationing in a villa in France. She has a week to choose the parents for her child which is due in one month. Everything is on track. What MC doesn’t plan on is Doug Warren, the man who lives in the condo next to her. The man whose music in the middle of the night makes her heart sing and weep. The man who changes everything. Doug Warren is trying to breathe again. After the tragic loss of his wife and daughter three years ago, he has his head down, focused on surviving one day at a time. Christmas is the worst time of year. He can’t afford anything to shake the fragile balance he has gained. Two things happen to throw him into the deep end. His family tells him they are descending in mass at Christmas and his neighbor’s adoption papers smack him in the face. Once he meets MC, he is unable to go back to his status quo. How could she give away what he would die over and over again to have back? He sets on a mission to find out why. And as she helps him prepare for his family’s arrival, his mission changes as the impossible unfolds. Doug’s not only breathing, but his heart is beating, stronger than ever for a woman and her unborn child. Can he convince her to believe in miracles and trust in him?

O Christmas Tree - Alicia StreetBlaming himself for the collapse of a storm shelter that took the lives of his wife and son in a violent tornado, Cody has spent the last three years running, moving from place to place, taking whatever odd job is available to sustain his empty life. Piper knows what it takes to endure and hope in the face of the odds, especially at Christmas, so when the ruggedly handsome man with the desolate look in his face steps into her cat cafe to deliver a box of stray kittens, something tells her it’s going to be a very interesting holiday. Sleigh Ride - Katy WaltersHaving lost her father, The Reverend Stuart Vale, the third son of an Earl to yellow fever, Miss Sophia Vale, faced a life of genteel poverty. Not for her the whirl of balls, routs and clandestine meetings in Vauxhall Gardens, nor for her the thrill of meeting that special beau. However Baron Jude Hawsley, a lecher with a penchant for young maidens has other ideas for the unwitting Sophia. Enter Lord Wells, the Earl of Breconbridge, renowned as a rakehell, his saving grace being a conscience. Yet he guards a secret life, involving much danger for himself and those close to him. Will his conscience win the day? Will he save Sophia from the horrors of enslavement to the baron. Deck the Hearts - Rachelle AyalaHolly Jolly lives for Christmas. It’s the only time of the year, as far as she’s concerned. Gordon Gills doesn’t need a reason to hate the holiday season. He doesn’t see the point. Gordon returns to the mansion he inherited and finds Holly making a mess with her Christmas decorations. Unfortunately, his great-aunt’s will stipulates that he must make merry every Christmas if he wants to keep his inheritance. Holly is determined to infect the grouchy Gordon with every dose of Christmas cheer she can muster up and show him what Christmas is really about, while Gordon doesn’t believe Holly can be truly that cheerful. He’ll make the entire ordeal anything but jolly for the redheaded elf, if only he wasn’t so attracted to her. Will Gordon prevail and turn Holly into a Grinch, or will a sprinkling of Christmas magic show Gordon that there’s no fighting love, especially when it's wrapped up in a gorgeous red-headed package of jolly holly? Silver Bells - Jacquie BiggarMystery writer, Joel Carpenter, has no time for romance. He has a deadline to meet, and too many skeletons in his closet to trust the slightly spinny artist renting his house. Christy Taylor has her hands full dealing with an ailing business and a diabetic daughter, she doesn't need the temptation that is her landlord, Joel Carpenter. Can a Christmas wish bring two stubborn souls together and give a little girl the gift she wants most? A family of her own. Hark the Herald Angel Falls - Michele HaufTo earn her halo, angel Merit must convince the person who holds her earthly soul in limbo—her husband—to stop loving her. Little Drummer Boy - Dani HavilandReduced to becoming a drummer boy at half wages, the young scout shows his worth when a small band of post-Revolutionary War soldiers and citizens become lost in the worst winter storm of the late 18th century. “Love, Christmas Blog Post #1 by Mimi Barbour #mgtab

Today it’s my pleasure to be the first to write a blog about my novella, Frosty the Snowman one of the twenty brand new novellas in the “Love, Christmas collection.
This book is dedicated to my winner in our earlier Christmas Carol Contest: Stacie Williams. Congratulations, Stacie. I'll be sending your book to you on Oct 18th - as soon as it's released.
You’ll probably notice on the cover that we wrote Snowpup over Snowman in the title. There’s a very good reason why I chose to do that. You see, in this story, Frosty is a Samoyed puppy, a cute little menace who is instrumental in making life for our hero and heroine very difficult. Stranded in the Alaskan wilderness - being forced to land the small plane because of a storm - the two strangers naturally have to rely on each other. Little Frosty makes life much morechallenging and they suffer because of his naughtiness. But he also earns their affection, while at the same time; they discover just how perfect they are for each other.
Now I chose the title, Frosty the Snowman, because I’m a lover of Samoyeds and years ago, living with my husband in the Yukon, he surprised me with a Samoyed puppy for my birthday. We called her Pegi. She was wonderful, loved by everyone in the mining camp where we lived and worked, especially the children. Just like Frosty in the story, Pegi would push her snout into the fresh snow and end up with it heaped on her face and her fluffy white body would be covered. When we’d laugh, she’d lift her head, flash us that adorable Samoyed grin and we’d joke about her being our little snow pup.
When it came time for me to write a new story for the collection and I was to select a Christmas carol, I’ll admit to having an ulterior motive in choosing this song. Last year, I wrote a trilogy called Holiday Heartwarmers. At the beginning, 3 Samoyed puppies were abandoned in a box, in a park. As each little bundle of mischief escaped, they found their new family and like furry little cupids working magic, each of the couples who adopted them found romance.

So once I’d decided to write another puppy story, you can see why changing the trilogy into a series - so I could make Frosty the Snowman Holiday Heartwarmers Book #4 - just seemed to make a lot of sense.

Sleigh Ride - Katy Walters

I began with a publisher but loved the freedom of Amazon and so I am an independent author living on the South Coast of the UK. Previously, I enjoyed a career as a research psychologist and psychotherapist, As the children grew and flew the nest, I decided to write about my experiences to help others, but as I began writing, my pen spelt out a different course and I was soon writing novels. These are historical romance suspense, with an underlying theme that I hoped inspire those who long to overcome their inhibiting fear, and reach their goals. From the reviews and private emails from readers, this has worked and I am so glad. It makes my writing even more worthwhile. I am now on the twentieth book and love it.

I get a lot of my inspiration for plots whilst walking with my dog Lily along beaches and in the nearby woods. She features in all my books under pseudonyms and is portrayed as her own wonderful zany self.

Steps you can print out on how to make a 3D cover! #mgtab

I just found out about this and I couldn’t wait to share it with you.
I want to introduce David Henderson · Founder at My eBook and his post:

First, I must explain thathis video was what made it possible for me to write down this information. I’ve watched the video, followed his instructions and wrote down step by step directions so a person (me) won’t have to watch the video every time I want to make a 3D image. I’ll just print out these steps and make life a hell of a lot easier. My brain is so overloaded; I don’t retain data unless I use it constantly.

After watching many times and carrying out instructions, I’ve finally hit the jackpot have a beautiful 3D image of one of my covers and will be making a lot more.
Instructions:
Download this for a book cover and save it. (I’ve kept mine on my desktop but you can file it where you’ll be able to access it easily.Decide which cover you want to use.Download Gimp it’s free it’s easy and you can install the icon on your taskbar like I did for easy access.Open the Click 'Open Image' from computer (2nd choice) and load the template here.Go to Layer and select “Open Image as Layer get your book cover now. You’ll see that it will completely cover the template but not to worry. Now go to Edit and select Free Distort. Your cursor becomes an arrow and you will go to each of the 4 little boxes at the corners of your cover and drag them to fit over the corners of the template so your image now covers the front of the template.Click on File and then on Save. Apply Change yes! Click on File again and save and when the little window opens, fill in the title you want to use for this cover in line one.Important!!!In the second option, you must change this to save the file from a Jpeg to a PNG. (If you don’t do this, the white around the cover will not become transparent. Once you click ok it will take a few seconds and then click save. Now open Gimp . You might find it a bit strange to begin with; I did until I realized that you can move the side panels around easily by just clicking on them, holding and tug down so the top part is visible.Click on file and open so you can browse for the 3D book cover you just made. Go to the tool section on left and scroll at the top you’ll see one called Free Select Tool. Click on it and then carefully, slowly - do not hold down on the mouse- click on the corner edge of the cover and then go to each corner and click until the book has been circled. You’ll see that there’s like a string it tugs along but that’s okay. Once you get back to the first corner, the lines will change to a moving dotted line ----. Now go to Select and click on Invert. Then click your computer’s Delete button. Next you want to reduce the size of the canvas (grey area around the image which I believe is the transparency) so Go to Image and click on Canvas size and hold down on the top arrow (width) and watch the image shrink. Do the same for the bottom arrow (Height). Now we want to reduce the size of the image. If you look on the scale surrounding the cover, you’ll see it’s really large. To make it smaller: go to Image. Click on scale image. And see where you like to have yours. I changed the width to 1,000. And everything changed with it and then I hit resize. Now go to File and Export as you’ll want to Export what you’ve created. I opened a folder in my documents just for 3D covers. ***See I told you. Easy- Shmeasy~!!! Hold it There’s one more lesson~*** If, like me, you close the red x’s on the two sidebars in Gimp (don’t ask.sigh!!) this is how to recover them. On the Gimp page, click Edit, then scroll down until you see Preferences. Click there and scroll down again and choose Window Management. Choose the bottom choice: Reset Windows Positions to Default Values and then click on OK. And - have fun!! Here's a new teaser image I created quickly for my book that's on saleso you can see the effect.

Chapter One 2016 Love, Christmas Collection Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, by Cynthia Cooke #mgtab

Chapter One (unedited version), and dedicated to our awesome reader, Dawn Anderson.
Large snowflakes fell in a winter’s dance outside Nicole Flattery’s office window, taunting her with their cold beauty. They landed gracefully on the evergreen boughs and velvet red ribbons wrapped around the old-fashioned lampposts lining Boston’s streets. Another Christmas alone buried up to her eyeballs in work she can never seem to see her way out of.
“NDZ?
“Yes, Jim. Sorry. What were you saying? she said into the phone.
Her boss cleared his throat. “Connors wants a few more changes to the aesthetics of the outside. He’s trying to reel in his costs.
“If we can switch out the stone with brick in a few places, it’ll help. But the development firm is really picky about their rule. Not to mention the town council. It may not fly.
“See what you can do. I’m sure I don’t need to remind you how important this account is to our firm.
Disappointment tinged his voice. No matter how hard she worked, she could never seem to please him. “No, of course not. I’ll take care of him. You can count on me.
He hung up the phone, and Nicole blew out a deep breath. She pulled up the files for the development’s terms and conditions. She’d been working day and night on this account and had thought they’d finally made it through this phase of the development. The growing stack of projects sitting on the edge of her desk, mocked her. They would have to wait a little longer.
“Oh, it’s snowing. I love the snow, her assistant Carrie said, bustling into the room with another file in her hand.
“I hate the snow, Nicole grumbled.
“No you don’t. You just hate that it reminds you of home and you can’t go.
“I swore to my dad I’d be home this year for Christmas, but the way things are going, that’s not looking very promising.
“Just do it, Nicole. We are closing down for four days. You can take a long weekend.
“I could, but then I’d never get through this stack. And she’d hate to see the look on Jim’s face when she had to give her weekly progress report. Her work hours were grueling. She gave it all she had, and was moving up in the company fast, but it was getting more and more difficult to find a good balance between her work life and home life.
“You don’t have to finish all those files.
Nicole looked up at her with surprise. “I have to if I want that promotion.
“You are the hardest working architect in this firm. Mr. Morris is a fool if he can’t see that.
Nicole smiled and glanced outside. “You should get going before that snow gets worse.
“What about you?
“I just have a few things to catch up on and then I’ll go.
“Pdz?
“Yes. Same Carrie. Always concerned for Nicole’s heath and safety. Nicole had a tendency to put in a few late nights more often than she should, but even she didn’t want to be walking home from the train in this weather.
They said goodnight and Nicole went back to her screen. She’d only read through a couple of pages of the development’s specifications when the phone rang again.
“Nicole Flattery, she answered, absently.
“Nicole. Thank goodness I got ahold of you. The panic in Mary Margaret’s voice struck an unexpected blow to her insides. She hadn’t heard from her father’s neighbor in at least a year. Maybe more. And she certainly hadn’t heard that tone, not since she was a child and Landry had fallen through the ice.
“Mary Margaret? What’s wrong? She glanced at the old picture on her desk. Her father in his Santa outfit, one arm over her spotty pre-teen self, beaming in a green elf costume. “Is my dad okay?
“Yes, thank goodness. Though the fool man is lucky he didn’t break his neck. He never listens.
Nicole blew out a shaky breath. “Okay, start at the beginning. What happened?
“What always happens? He climbed up on that ladder to hang his Christmas lights and fell off. How many times have I told him he doesn’t need to be up on that ladder, especially at his age.
“He fell off his ladder?
“Yes, that’s what I said. Fell on his gardenia bushes and destroyed his shrubbery. Luckily he only broke his leg and not his fool neck. Though he does have a minor concussion.
“Where is he now? Nicole asked, horrified by the image of her father lying on the ground amidst the broken branches and waxy petals.
“At Mercy Hospital. You should come home.
Nicole’s gaze immediately shot to the stack of papers strewn across her desk. Her dad needed her. She was all he had. A no-brainer. So why wasn’t she moving? Or breathing?
“Yes, I will. I’ll be there as soon as I can. She stood, staring at her desk trying to decide what to take, and what to leave.
“Good. They’re releasing him this evening, and they need someone to stay with him for the next 24 hours.
“All right. I’ll be there.
Mary Margaret’s voice softened. “It sure will be nice to see you again, sweetheart. It’s been way too long.
“It has, Nicole said absently, trying to remember exactly how long. She hung up the phone. The snow falling outside changed from a picturesque fluttering to a harried flurry.
She picked up the phone again and called her boss. “Don’t worry, I can work from my dad’s place in New Hampshire, she offered quickly before he could object.
“Are you sure you don’t want Steve to take over this account?
“Yes, I can handle it.
“All right, Jim agreed. “Take care of your dad, but don’t forget if it looks at anytime like you can’t get it done, call Steve.
“I will, she promised, though she had no intention of giving up this account. She grabbed the bulk of the files along with her laptop and dropped them into her briefcase before heading out the door, all the while praying her father was okay.
And that he had wifi.***
