“Diary of a Zombie available in English
Diary of a Zombie is available in English at last!!
My name is Sergi Llauger and I am the author of Diary of a Zombie, a novel where, this time, the main character is actually the zombie instead of the petty human. :-)
Regarding this blog, English is not my native language, so please bare with me ;-). Fear not, though, I did not translate the book myself!
Erico Lombardo, that's his name, has this good life now, no need to sleep, no hunger (now that pretty much all humans in the city have fled; it’s just the scent, really, that drives one nuts)…heck, no need for a toilet either…getting to watch movies in an abandoned theater whenever he pleases (he feels particularly sympathetic when watching “I am Legend), taking what he wants, whenever he wants, not having to share with others…He does not get to speak much to anybody, that is true. The other zombie pals do not seem to, well, be very active, cerebrally, you know at least not how he still seems to be, for whatever reason.
But one day he stumbles onto this kid. The insolent brat does not seem to be afraid of him. She just seems…curious. And then all of a sudden she rans away—what the!? His partially rotten legs are no match against the kid's young—and living—limbs. Where did she go?
The storyline starts in a devastated Barcelona, in Northeastern Spain. If any of you have been there, you might recognize several popular downtown locations, neighborhoods and buildings where part of the story takes place.
If you fancy (please do!), download a sample of “Diary of a Zombie comprising 1/4th of the book in EPUB format here at ŷ. I would actually be ecstatic if you read it, irrespective of you deciding to buy it afterwards or not, provide feedback and maybe mention it to your friends and family if you think they might enjoy it. If you do buy the whole book and read it, by all means, please write a review here at ŷ and in the retailer where you got it.
For the time being, it is being released as an ebook only. You can get it at the usual suspects (, and ; some of those are affiliate links, meaning my publisher gets a tip from those retailers if you purchase the book using those links). For some time, initially, the price for the book is also dirt cheap.
This edition is actually the English translation of the original Diario de un zombi in Spanish, which was released in print in 2010 and which currently is on its 8th print run. That version was also released as an iOS book-as-an-app before iBooks Store was available in Spain, and stayed at the top of the Books category for well over a year.
My intention is to put additional content here in this blog and answer any questions that you might have about the story or its characters. So feel free to contact me here if you want.
It’s all happening!!
