"The Scale Pirates of the outer reef
Exiled from the Scale World millennia ago
Dance their fluorescent adventures between distant stars
Far from the old earth empire
I read Prophet Strikefile #1 today finally. It was excellent. My fave pages were Sandra’s Jaxson page, Brandon’s Scale world page, and the page by Onta.
So I sketched out this Frog Scale Pirate dude and was thinking like…Frog Harlock thoughts. The throat thing is this modified dolemantle that the frog pirates have genetically grafted into their line during their ages in exile. Also poison tipped finger claws and prolly some kind of ancient sword taken from a raid.
Fun times. It was cool because I usually just draw people, I don’t do cartoony anthropomorphic stuff really ever, so it was cool that it worked out. I also didn’t ink anything which also kinda worked out.
Yussss!!!
Rose City Comic Con 2014
:
Gonna call this review “Earth’s Mightiest Tightiest Whitiest, on account of it being so brief.
The second was this last weekend.
There was much to see and do and hear and drink.

On the Team PROPHET front, was there sharing a table with
The homies.
how did your bromance with robin begin? could you talk about the relationship a bit?
Robin is the best. I think I met him at one of the local Vancouver cons, maybe through Robin Bougie (of Cinema Sewer fame) He interviewed me for his show at some point and then later helped me and Marian get into the apartment building he was in.
We became serious pals living in the same building and meeting up to talk comics. I think Robin’s thoughts on the medium and the comics scene have been a good influence on me. I appreciate that he’s into comics as a journalist or interviewer and isn’t trying to use that as a step into other comic work. He has an impressive code of ethics.
He helps me remember to keep my work indy helps me wrangle comic shows and sell pages and he makes a mean dark and stormy. I like that him and Marian would never let me do anything that wasn’t about trying to make good art. —doing my Walrus book with PictureBox had a lot to do with his help and advice. I’m glad I know the guy.

Do you color your own work? Have you ever colored anyone else's work? Who is the best/ your favorite colorer in the industry?
I do color all my own stuff. & yeah, sometimes I team up with Joseph B III to color Prophet pages when we’re on a deadline and I colored a Ulises Farinas story years ago and probably other stuff that I’m spacing on now.
I think my favorite colorer is
