Alexander Gordon Smith is the author of the Escape from Furnace series of young adult novels, including Lockdown and Solitary. Born in 1979 in Norwich, England, he always wanted to be a writer. After experimenting in the service and retail trades for a few years, Smith decided to go to University. He studied English and American Literature at the University of East Anglia, and it was here that he first explored his love of publishing. Along with poet Luke Wright, he founded Egg Box Publishing, a groundbreaking magazine and press that promotes talented new authors. And yes, that review is massively spoilery (and very out of date, there isn't even a character called Boyd in the books). If you could change it I would be immensely grateful. Your Escape from Furnace books are some of the most popular books in my library鈥攖hank you for that. I鈥檇 like to make The Night Children available as well, but I work with incarcerated minors and do not have computers in the library. Tor lists the copyright on The Night Children as yours. May I print it to circulate? It would be available for free like any other library book.
