Cast Your Friends

Before I get into my post for today I want to thank everyone for their great suggestions for MG books. I'm going to compile a list and post a page for recommended books for MG and YA. So thank you!

Moving on to today's topic. I fall in love with characters when I read. I miss them when I put the book down. I often wish I could pull them from the pages and insert them in the real world. Which made me think. If I could take those characters and create my own circle of friends from them, who would I choose?

In no particular order, here's what I decided:

Stark (from the House of Night series) -- I love him! He's is the tough guy with the heart of gold. He'd do anything to protect the people he cares about.

Percy Jackson (from the Percy Jackson series) -- What I really like about him is that he doesn't pretend to be perfect, even when he thinks he is the chosen one. And how awesome is his power over water?

Alex Rider (from the Alex Rider series) A spy for a friend would be very cool. Of course he nearly gets his friends killed all the time, so there is a downside to this one!

Kate Wetherall (from the Mysterious Benedict Society) I mean she carries a bucket everywhere! That's a great conversation piece at a party. Plus all the gadgets and odd things she carries in the bucket would come in handy quite often.

Max (from the Maximum Ride series) Who wouldn't want a friend who could fly and kick some major you-know-what at the same time?

I could keep going but I'll stop at five (for now). Your turn. Which characters would you want to be friends with?
