Action Scenes

Snowy days inspire me to blog for some reason. You've got to admit the view out my window is stellar.
I have been writing some action scenes for The Two Moons of Merth and I've got to tell you I enjoy action scenes more than I thought.
I am making the book available on the Amazon Vella format as I write. I'm up to 80 chapters and have posted around 35. Once the book is complete, I will take it off Vella. Also, I have contracted with artist Teresa Pelliccio to create the cover. Below is an excerpt fromThe Two Moons of Merth. Check it out and let me know what you think. At this point she has been taken in an arm lock from behind. Their guards have arrived on the scene and Ali gasps as she sees one of them struck down. The clashing of swords gets louder as the mortal exchange grows. Her assailant tries to haul her off, but she punches him hard with her one free elbow and somehow twists loose kicking him sharply in the groin with her knee. “Sossa, faw! she hears him curse. She searches the ground for her blade and sees it just out of reach. Fontar is now engaged in sword fight with two of the marauders. She picks up the knife, but as she does someone kicks her from behind so hard, she lands forward on her head. The sound her head makes hitting the ground is like a ripe melon splitting open on a hard surface. She is temporarily dazed, but fighting for her life she grabs the knife, now beneath some of the warriors engaged in a sword battle. The knife is seen by Fontar who kicks it her way. She picks it up and charges at the man behind her, who once held her captive and who is now brandishing a knife of his own. She makes quick work of him using her skills to throw him off balance with her leg and then using the full force of her smaller body to plunge the knife, through his thick leather tunic, all the way into his heart.
