ebook vs. physical book

Ebooks have become a popular choice for reading. Ebooks can store a large number of books in less space than the average bookshelf, can be easily carried around, and provide an easier e-reading experience than physical books. However, there are many people who still prefer to read printed materials because they can’t stand reading from a screen. So what are the pros and cons of both formats?
Ebooks and physical books are two different types of formats. While ebooks are digital and can be read on a computer or tablet, physical books can only be read by holding the actual book in your hand.
Advantages
Ebooks are more convenient, as you can store them whenever you want. You don’t need to carry around heavy books or worry about damaging them in transit. You can also search for a specific word or phrase easily with the use of the ebook readers search function.
Physical books are great because you can access them anywhere. They’re portable, don’t run out of battery power, and don’t need wifi or cellular service in order to work. Plus, you don’t need to charge them or search for a power outlet.
Disadvantages
Although they are more convenient, ebooks do have their disadvantages. They do not have any illustrations or photos like real books do, so it’s much harder to visualize what is going on in the story if you don’t know what the characters look like already. Also, ebooks cannot be shared with other people like physical books can because they are digital files that cannot be passed around easily without being copied first. On the other hand, some people don’t feel like reading on a paper over the glass when reading books. Plus you need to access the internet to view it if there’s no internet or wifi connection available then it won’t work.
While physical books tend to take up space in your home and are subjected to be organized for quite some time. Also, the physical book needs to carry around with you all the time if you want to read it. This makes it very inconvenient for some people who don’t like carrying things around all day long.
In conclusion, both ebook and physical books have merits. You may want to choose one kind according to different occasions. Modern people are used to electronic information storage and sharing, so they usually choose ebooks, because it is easy to carry around. If a physical book’s portability wont be an issue for you, then more power to you. But if it will make a difference, then an ebook reader may be worth another look.
